I am writing this review 6 months after the actual installation, which went well in April 2014. We have had no issues with the pump. Great in-pit system with warning lights and clear messages next to each light, decent value compared to others we considered, and we wanted something fairly decent since we were fed up with sump pump problems. Today, October 17, I heard an odd noise in the basement (which turned out to have nothing to do with the pump) and discovered a light on. Message was that the unit wasn't getting A/C; we should check the circuit breaker and connections and if that wasn't it, replace the charger. We had it hooked to A/C using an extension cord; I tested that and all was well up to the battery controller, so I called Hanson's and left a message on a Friday afternoon. I got a call back not too long afterwards. Mark Hanson very patiently helped me troubleshoot; we'd had a brief power outage earlier and the system just needed a reset. When that was taken care of, he quite astutely determined that he had a know-nothing person on the phone (and my other half was away), so he suggested I check the water, and walked me through THAT. Sure enough it was low so I filled it with his direction. All was well until several hours later I heard the alarm beeping downstairs. Now the light was on saying the water level was low! I thought maybe there was something I was supposed to reset so I pulled out the manual but couldn't find any mention of it. Called again and left a message on a Friday evening. Got a call back within 5 minutes. Again Mark walked me through what he thought was the issue--a sensor wire had dropped out of a battery cap as I had replaced the cover after filling each battery well. Problems solved. He was extremely patient, and I was glad for that rather than a "we'll send someone out" and a call charge on a Friday night or weekend! Also appreciated the clear explanations. Good product, great service.
