Gerhardt Remus Plastering

Ken & Gerhardt came on time, and helped me understand some detail of what they recommended doing. Professional, terrific job on the walls, and a great system to keep the floors clean while they work. Price was in line with Ken's price range provided earlier. I would recommend their work, and would hire them again.

TERRIBLE!!! They drilled a hole through a water pipe, charged me 24 man hours to fix the hole, sued me for not be willing to pay the full bill. Judge said She understood my frustration, but I should have had an expert witness to state how long it takes to fix a hole and that I have the right to appeal. In my experience, they are incompetent and dishonorable.

Terrible!!!! Remus and son punched hole in water pipe. charged me for approximately 5 hrs x 2 men of waiting time for repair man, then another 7 hoursx2 men (including cleanup time for 1st mess) Sued me for not wanting to pay 24 man hours to fix hole. They won the suit because judge said she could not determine time fix should take and that I could get an expert witness and appeal. Check out court cases involving these two before you hire them

I called Mr. Gerhardt on Saturday morning with a request for an estimate on the work needed and he promptly made an appointment to assess the damage to come over that afternoon at my convenience. He gave a fair estimate and promised to come that week with a days notice if that was okay with me. He called me on Monday to say that he would be there the next morning and came and worked for one half of a day with great care and patience to perfectly blend in to match the existing texture on the walls and ceilings not damaged. To watch him perform his craft was like watching an artist at work. He took tremendous care to protect all area around his work and cleaned up beautifully. I am so pleased with his work and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs any plaster work or repair.

Gerhardt Remus Plastering worked in our home on three different occasions during our home remodeling project. The plastering they did in our home was very good, however their billing practices made me uncomfortable. When each job was complete Gerhardt presented us with a simple bill that only listed the total we owed. I asked Gerhardt for an itemized bill listing material and labor costs on all three occasions because that is how I like to do business. He provided the information for the first two bills after being asked, but refused for the third bill. A year later when we decided to upgrade our thermostat, we realized that Gerhardt Remus' team did not loosen the thermostat from our dining room wall before they plastered the wall. Instead of removing the two screws that hold the thermostat to the wall, they simply plastered around the thermostat. We cannot replace our old thermostat with a newer (and smaller) one until we have the wall behind the thermostat patched and re-plastered. I am very disappointed in their lack of professionalism.

Ken came in on short notice, patched the crack matching the texture of the surrounding wall. When it was painted, it impossible to distinguish the patch from the original plaster. No further clean-up was needed after Ken left.

Overall it was great! They were efficient and worked well without supervision. They came and quoted the house, then followed up and we got started. The work went as they said it would, and they delivered a great smooth product that got rid of the old , damaged plaster in the house. Plus they were able to save total demolition to accomplish what I was looking for, which saved money, time and mess! Thanks!
