The painting itself was largely done to our satisfaction. There were major communications issues with Mr. Pichler. The job kept getting postponed. Messages and phone calls sometimes were unanswered. They came a few days after we were scheduled to begin. The house dates from 1898, so there is an issue with lead in the paint chips, and there is a baby living downstairs. The owner assured us that he was lead certified. But the painters, who did a worthy job taking off old paint, left the place a mess, with paint chips everywhere. They came demanding a check, and we insisted on cleanup. After payment was made someone came by and did an inadequate job because he was not given enough time. We made another phone call to Mr. Pichler who thought that the clean up was complete. We also told him that paint was coming off the front porch that had been painted one week ago. After being referred to Pichler from another well-respected business owner/professional in the community, I received a quote from Owner, Randy, and communicated that I would be accepting the proposal. After a multitude of conversations confirming they would be out to start the job, I contacted him yet again on 8/6 via phone, 8/7 via email, 8/8 I finally talked with him and he committed to getting back to me within an hour to set up date to perform work. I never received any further communication. On Monday, 8/11, I spoke once again with Randy and he committed to having someone out to perform the work either Thurs. 8/14 or Fri. 8/15, and would contact me in advance to confirm which day. Again, I never heard back and no one showed up either day. I have since contacted him, to no avail, and have NEVER received any type of follow-up from him or his staff. I am a professional in the service industry, working for a fortune 100 company, and certainly would not be able to sustain a respectable reputation in business if I treated my clientele this way. It is incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Whether you don't need the business, or simply do not want it, a little professional courtesy would go a long way with this company.

Communication through the process was extremely poor. After leaving messages and emails for weeks -- I was sent an email at 9 am saying they would begin work that very day. (I had told them I could arrange my schedule so I could be home). When I arrived home -- the paint they had purchased was not the brand we had agreed upon (of course the employees on-site knew nothing of my request). I was told to call Randy -- the office voicemail was full. Unable to leave message. When they arrived again in the am, my husband met the crew and told him they were not to use the paint they had purchased. Again, they knew nothing. Finally, after an hour -- it was agreed they would go and get Sherwin Williams paint as we had agreed. The contract was for 2 coats. Upon their "completion" it was clear that may areas were flat out missed and 2 coats had not be applied. Then many weeks of emails, calls, and trying to contact in order for them (office voice mail is almost always full) to come back and complete the job. Finallly, week's later the crew arrives at 6 pm to complete. Oh.....oops, they didn't have any of the second color of paint needed to complete. Sherwin Williams is now closed for the night.....they did complete the cream that evening. Again, calls, emails etc..... I could never recommend this company to anyone based upon our experience. Quality was terrible and service was even worse. I consider myself very relax and generally easy to work with (reasonable) but this experience was probably the worst that I have ever had with a contractor.

The workmanship itself was, at first,satisfactory. But dubious extra charges reulted in a bill way over estimate. I paid the bill. There is a two year warranty. The shutter fell off the house. He ignored my messages on his voice mail, except once , May 2014, when he said that he would fix it.. To date, he never has. Consumers should not be treated this way. There are preferable alternatives. He charged a lot for the overestimate shutters and this is the result.
