Very happy with his work. The tub dealer said that the pump needed to be replaced for about $800. Greg got it fixed for fraction of the cost. We have used Shallow Pockets for a number of projects, varying from reroofing a horse shed to installing grounding cables for the electric fence. He as always been fair on the pricing and fast to respond.
Description of Work: We had an inoperable jetted tub in the master bath. Greg removed the pump and had it repaired, cleaned out the solenoid drain valve to make it work again, and replaced a faulty electrical switch.

Horrible! It is my opinion, Greg is mentally ill, and I would warn others against allowing him into their homes. Certainly, he is unprofessional. In addition, Greg continued to operate Shallow Pockets after his license was suspended. Please read above.
Description of Work: Greg, owner of Shallow Pockets, installed a door for me. His price was more than reasonable; it was approximately the same as Home Depo. Although the door looks okay, the primary problem was he did not listen to me, and I ended up with the same problem as door I replaced. One of the main reasons I was replacing the door was because the old door had a 1 inch gap at the bottom that left in a draft. And although most indoor doors do have an inch or so gap at the bottom to circulate heat and air, this one leads to the laundry room which is cold and drafty as it leads to the garage. As the new door had to be cut down lengthwise, this should not have been a problem had he listened to me. So after the expense of buying a new door and having it installed, I was left with the same problem as with the old door - a draft! What a waste of time and money! In addition, he complained about how long it took him to install the door, and how he couldn't make a living at this rate! However, he was the one who quoted the price! While giving me the estimate for the door, we had discussed a couple other small jobs I needed done - installing a fireplace mantle shelf, and wood base in my bedroom. He was very reluctant to give me even an estimate for installing the fireplace mantle. When he finally did, I felt it was too high, esp, since he did not appear very knowledgible or experienced in mantle shelf installation, and told him this. His response was "Then go get some Mexicans to do it for you!" I am Mexican-American, felt his statement was derogatory, racist, and took offense to it, and told him so. Instead, of apologizing, etc., he only made more and worse racial slurs. He also made vague threats, such as, "You know, I saw some really scary characters when I was leaving your neighborhood. You should really watch yourself. Sure hate for someone like you to get hurt", etc, etc. Much of this was made through messaging. He also called me a f---ing b----, and a c---! In addition, he told me he had fallen when getting into his truck after leaving my house which was absolutely not true as I watched him walk to his truck and get in it. Due to his racial slurs and threats, I decided to report his unprofessional behavior to the proper authorities. That's how I found out his business licence had been suspended, and he was continuing to operate his business without one.

Greg is quick and efficient and charges very reasonably. (He just saved me a huge bundle over a large chain that wanted to eat me for lunch!!) He's very personable as well. Easy to speak to and ask questions about future needs. I have already asked him to come back at a date we will set in the future to take care of some other maintenance and repair needs to my home. To date Greg has repaired my front door, put security doors on both the front and back doors of my house, plus repaired and re-installed my dishwasher that had been installed incorrectly the first time.
Description of Work: This is the third time I've asked Greg to help me with something as "My Handyman". Once again he came through with flying colors for me. Greg fixed a leak and dishwasher problem that a local plumber completely missed and still charged me $90 for. The plumber told me the problem was simply that the connection to my sink's sprayer hose was lose and he tightened it. I called Greg when the problem actually got worse. He came and knew right away what the problems were. (There were actually two and what he charged me included parts he had to buy). Greg fixed my leaks quickly and as always charged me a fair price. He always lets me know what to expect as far as price. I really appreciate this since I don't have very much money. I can always depend on him to take care of my maintenance or repair needs quickly and with honesty. As soon as I save enough money I will hire Greg to put the sunroom I've been dreaming of onto my house since I know he can do the big stuff too - he already has for other people.

I originally called Greg because of a positive Angie's List report. I needed a minor repair on the roof of our barn. Greg came out right away and fixed it on the spot. As we were talking (I'd give Greg an and quot;Aand quot; in that catergory too), we showed him an unfinished bathroom project that had been postponed when the vanity top broke. The vanity was a not a standard size so we believed we needed to buy a replacement or have a new top made. Greg assured us he could get one of the standard tops to work, so we asked him for a bid to finish up. We liked his bid and we've been very happy with his work. He not only got the standard vanity top to work, but it looks great. Everything does. He also handily beat his completion deadline. We also appreciated how Greg kept us up to date thoughout the project with text messages and pictures. We've already hired him for another project.
Description of Work: Installed fixtures in bathroom (toilet, shower kit and vanity + all hardware). Greg also corrected some plumbing errors and did some drywall and painting as well as a couple minor repairs in the home.

Incomplete job. he talked his way out of why he did certain things the way he did. Like the door isn't level because your house is not level, that is nonsense , he put the complete wall and door frame in. He failed to level it when he did the work. Also did not finish interior cabinet insulation. He did not seal the toilet appropriately, it leaked within 3 months, he did not answer my calls. I had someone else fix it. Very unprofessional.
Description of Work: 1) He added to the dining room wall and then put in some leaded glass french doors I had bought. 2) He knocked out a wall enlarging the bathroom then put in another wall and door, textured and painted, put trim in, then put in a 5 ' vanity and mirror in. He also put trim and baseboard around the house.
