Be careful when getting a bid from John. He will give you a bid that looks attractive but then neglect to add some common tasks of a remodel. He never puts in trim work. We had a couple walls removed and had one of the walls being supported with a massive wood beam he said was necessary. We thought it might be nice to have the exposed wood. However the way he left it was very unsightly. The only way to make it work he said was the way they did it and to trim it out. However since they don't do trim work he left our kitchen looking completely awful. Giant gaps from the sheet rock to the wood. The other wall that was removed has started to shift and causing cracking. I don't even want to call to see if they will fix it. Will probably have someone else do the repairs. The bathroom portion was similar. He was removing a closet that shared a wall with the bathroom so we could have a larger bathroom. After putting up the new sheet rock and taping and mudding he only textured the half of the bathroom they worked on even though we discussed doing the entire room to make it look uniform. He finally did the rest of the room but not without a confrontation. Overall he does the least amount as possible. Would definitely not use him again.
