About us

McKinney Glass was founded in Yakima in 1958 by Guy McKinney, grandfather of present owner, Mike McKinney. From the very beginning, the McKinney family has been committed to hands-on, personal service to their customers. They have also been strong supporters of their friends and neighbors throughout Yakima as members of community service organizations, and by serving on a variety of community boards. In 1975, Rus McKinney succeeded his father Guy as owner of the company. Rus continued the family tradition of customer service as the number one priority, as well as ongoing community service. Mike McKinney began his work in the family glass business in 1993, following his graduation from the University of Washington. When father Rus retired in 2002, Mike became the third McKinney to own the glass company. Mike continues to serve the community as an active member of many community organizations including Yakima Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, YMCA, Central Washington Home Builders and the Better Business Bureau. Mike is a certified Continuing Education instructor for insurance agents, having awarded CE credits to over one hundred insurance professionals in Yakima. The courses cover such topics as proper glass installation and its effect on safety, the collision repair process, vehicle inspection, claims management, and business ethics. Mike believes the strongest family tradition is that of personal involvement with the day-to-day business. He continues to strive to lead his team to do the very best job for each and every customer.

Everything went very well. several doors all keyed to be the same and our shower door slides like it is supposed to.
Description of Work: We had locks on doors at home and office changed + dead bolt added. They also fixed shower door in master bathroom. We also had rock chip fixed on our car about 2 years ago.

I think the total price was $800 for the windshield and my deductible was $500. Insurance covered the rest. What stands out about them is their professionalism.
Description of Work: For auto glass, I used McKinney’s. I had to get the entire windshield replaced because some truck threw a rock and it went all across the windshield.

The estimate was with two different people. They came out and it took about 1/2 an hour. They represent Millguard windows and several people I know have had this brand put in their homes. I would tell a friend or family member that they come highly recommended.
Description of Work: They will be replacing all the windows in the house.

I picked up the part at a junk yard but I wanted to make sure that it was properly installed so that the metal did not rattle against the glass. All it took was a screwdriver and a couple screws and the attendant wasn't busy, so, he did the work on the spot in about 5 minutes. I think the entire repair including the part only cost me about 5 dollars.
Description of Work: It was a small plastic part for the side sliding door on a mercury villager that needed to be replaced. The old one was busted and wouldn't close properly so, I was concerned that if it was going down the freeway it might smash off from the wind.

Description of Work: THEY VACUUMED THE BROKEN GLASS OUT OF THE CAR, TOOK THE REST OF THE WINDOW OUT OF THE CAR, THEN PUT IN A NEW WINDOW.
