BENJI'S CUSTOM TILE & DESIGN

Description of Work: I hired Benji's Tile Service to install ceramic tile in my kitchen and family room. The family room was an addition, and although not detectable to the average person, the floor had "settled" somewhat, and was not level. An tile installer from Lowes had already told me he did not feel comfortable doing the job, and attempted to talk me into installing vinyl. However, I was set on tile, and so searched for someone who specialized in tile installation, and had numerous years experience. Benji, the owner of Benji's Tile, assured me he could do the job, explained how he woud do it, and offered me close by references on similar work. He gave me the option of purchasing tile for me, and brought samples, or purchasing it myself without pressure either way. Family members I recruited, and I prepped the floor (tore out carpet and vinly, etc.) to save money prior to Benji's starting the job. Benji always showed up on time. He always accompanied his workers. He and his workers were respectful - cleaning up after themselves, etc. And he was responsive to my concerns. Overall, I found Benji to be a perfectionist, and I am very satisfied wth his work and my kitchen and family room. I have also had numberous compliments on the floor. Benji layed the tile diagnally which makes the space look more expansive, and is very attractive. In addition, and most importantly, no tiles have broken - the main concern due to the slightly slanted floor of the family room addition. My only complaint is that Benji never brought back my receipt as promised, and the reason for the "C" grade for professionalism. I do feel price-wise, he was high, however, I also believe it is better to pay a little more and have something done right.
