We recently became the proud owners of a newly installed septic system. Like most people builing a new home, we knew generally what the septic system does, but not much about the different types, or how they even work. After binge watching Youtube DIY Septic Install videos (don’t judge), we concluded it was another expensive utility that you simply couldn’t live without and it definitely required a professional installer. While that fact proved itself true, the total cost was much cheaper that we originally thought. We got lucky from the start, as several other builders and contractors we had been working with, strongly recommended L&S Contracting for the installation of our septic system. Basil Rotschy drove out to assess our property, took measurements and calculated an installation that followed a somewhat parametric design and conformed to our sloped and curved terrain. He promptly gave us a reasonable and generous estimate that eased us comfortably into our septic install project. Unfortunately, we hit a snag last year that caused us to suspend our building progress for about six months. Basil was very responsive and said to call anytime if I had any questions or needed his company for anything moving forward. When we were finally ready, Basil was right there again answering my questions and he never skipped a beat in his positive attitude toward our project. Just as before, he was easy to talk to and quick to reply by texting, phone calls and through emails. It felt good to have someone with sincere enthusiasm and expertise, ready, willing and available to provide such a valuable service. Every conversation with Basil solidified our confidence in L&S Contracting as our choice to install our new septic system, or as we called it, another “40 year investment.” This time around, we asked that Basil install our septic sooner than we had planned and he moved our install ahead on his calendar to meet our schedule. He checked the weather, the soil conditions and kept us up-to-date as we approached the big day. He met our builder to confirm the elevations of our future home and from that point, handled all the permitting and remaining logistics with other relevant building contractors. He identified two large trees that would compromise our septic system in the future so his crew, being conscious of protecting other property areas, high cut, fell and moved the tree trunks in a neat stack right where I had asked. After a few days, the septic system was in the ground and he was ready to give me the tour. When it comes to efficiency and speed of the install, Basil says “We mean business!” and as you can see from the reviews here, that means alot to his customers. He adds, in his friendly, big brother like demeanor, “I build every system as though it were for my own home,” so you know he's taking care of you by taking care of business! Arriving on site, I couldn't believe how well Basil and his team integrated this very large septic system and its drain field into the natural contour of a compound curvilinear sloped landscape. He explained everything in layman's terms starting with our new tank and its baffle system. He showed how the material flowed and separated into effluent wastewater that is pushed into and disseminated throughout our drainfield. The overall installation was nothing short of impressive. After formal inspection it would be covered by fill dirt and look as though nothing was ever there. Soon the new grass and foliage would return the landscape to its previous state. We highly recommend Basil and his crew at L&S Contracting to anyone planning a new install or maintenance of a simple or complex septic system. I don't believe there's anyone better suited to take care of your home’s septic system than L&S Contracting and you couldn't ask for better working experience either. We are not surprised in the least to see that every other review here is a 5 STAR review. Basil made a comment that many of his customers become future friends. I don't doubt this at all because after the friendly communication and professionalism customers receive from L&S Contracting, they realize Basil is a very honest, forthright and good person. They installed a complete new septic system. They were friendly, patient with all my questions, professional. They came when said they would, explained what they were going to do, did it, cleaned it up, and charged exactly what they said they would. And sent a letter thanking me for my business and asking me to call if I had any questions or concerns.
