Description of Work: Received a competitive bid that was half the cost of the bid from Polar Bear Energy Solutions for the same materials. Jake gave a professional bid walkthrough. His Hispanic work force was very hard working and experienced. They completed the work on a Saturday and Sunday for a 16 square roof. The only issue I had was having to call Jake to make his workers rope off to meet OSHA regulations and eliminate my liability exposure.

Description of Work: We called on 11/20/15 regarding roof damage from the wind storm on 11/17. We were told a roof specialist would be out by 4:30 pm that same day. We were initially pleased because we had severe water damage inside our home. No one ever showed up. No one called with an explanation or to reschedule.

Description of Work: Replace plywood and shingles on single-story 2100 sq ft house. We got 5 bids for this project, and they were all remarkably similar. Roofs are expensive. The owner came out for the bid (not a salesman). We liked Jake's straightforward but knowledgeable manner without a lot of marketing. They did the tear off, deck replacement, and shingles in 2.5 days. Incredibly fast! They took care to replace and paint all protrusions, roof looks great. So far no problems after 9 months. It was super easy working with them, no drama all. | |Their carpenter also did some work shoring up a covered walkway; it took a very long time for me to convince him of what I wanted, and even then I wasn't sure what was going to happen. But when I got home from work that evening, he had done an amazing job and fully addressed the problem; not too much work, not too little.

Description of Work: Had a small discoloration/leak in kitchen ceiling sheetrock. Jake came out to do a roof inspection and made minor repairs right on the spot, as well as gave an overall evaluation of the roof. Looks like the work did the trick and I'll definately remember them for the next job!

Description of Work: Stout Roofing put a new roof on my 4-plex apartment building and carport. They emailed me a very informative and professional presentation which was very complete and well organized. I feel they did a professional roofing job and generally rated them "A" because I am satisfied with the completed job. The only reason I gave them a "B" on a couple of issues was because they originally quoted me a 2-3 day turnaround and it ended up being about a 7 day turnaround, although 2 of those days included a Sunday and a Monday holiday, so I guess we could call it a 5 day turnaround. I feel that they could have been a little better at keeping me informed about the delay. Their price was competative with other estimates that I received, I guess it was the thoroughness in describing the scope of work on their initial estimate and again, their overall emailed presentation that won me over. I would hire them again if I ever need another roofing contractor.

Description of Work: Replaced existing composite shingle roof with same. Very good work and kept us informed along the way. My only (minor) complaint is that their post work cleanup left a little to be desired.

Description of Work: We live in a cul de sac and got together with 4 neighbors to re-roof our 20 year old shake roofs with composition. We invited RFP's and interviews from six Seattle/Eastside roofers (all Angie's List companies). Our RFP was for certified roofers of Certainteed Presidential Shake composition shingles and we wanted a group discount. With the exception of Stout, all the estimates were murky about what the discount actually was. At the end of the process Stout and another company were nearly tied for the lowest bids and both had flawless recommendations. Only Stout offered a specific discount:$1200 off of each house's individual estimate. This made them the clear winner. | |They were punctual and easy to arrange scheduling. The crews were courteous and aware of safety precautions needed when children wandered into the construction area. The daily cleanup was very good and our other neighbors commented positively about the workmanship and roof appearance. The Lead, Marcos, was very attentive to our questions and needs. Credit cards were welcome with no charge. | |All 5 of our households are very pleased with our choice of Stout Roofing.

Description of Work: Called twice. To get an estimate and was told that an estimator would call me back to schedule a time to come out and give a bid. After not hearing back for over a week I repeated the process (I did not mentioning that I had tried before, as I find that can create some defensiveness with no benifit) Was again told that and estimator would call me to schedule. |The person on the phone was very polite and professional. | |Both times I mentioned that it was an immediate need. | |I never heard back. | |Unfortunately it is difficult to have confidence after such experiences. | |I feel bad as they very might well be great roofers and a great value, but I have no idea and would feel foolish of trying a third time. Unfortunate. | |Again. They did not do work, so I am not reporting anything negative beyond an lacking communication system or practices. | |But it's good to give a review so that they can improve this I guess or others can be aware if indeed it is not a unique incident and just my poor luck.

Description of Work: A branch fell through my roof during the wind storm and with the rain coming, I need a patch fast. I called several roofers and none could get here the next day except for Stout. His crew took care of it quickly and at a great price. He actually called me back within 10 minutes of my inquiry.

Description of Work: They replaced my roof. Everyone I interacted with was courteous and professional. The roof looks good, and the work looks like it was done right, but I won't know for sure for another 15 years or so.

Description of Work: New roof, including new decking and fascia for California gutters.

Description of Work: I had an old roof torn off and a new 30 year comp roof put on. Due to rain, we had some delays. Even so, the job was completed in 4 days. I'm very happy with the finished product and would use Stout again.

Description of Work: Left messages with answering service on Friday 5/9 and Tuesday 5/13, no response at all.

Description of Work: Gave me an estimate, however I selected another roofer closer to our area. I felt completely comfortable with Stout's bid, and I had a good recommend by a recent friend who was a customer.
