Brad is great to work with. He promptly answered my initial query and followed up with email. We arrived at an agreement about the job and that's exactly what happened. We are very satisfied with Brad's work and definitely would hire him again.

Brad did a tremendous job. He is so knowledgeable and organized and quickly replaced the light fixture and dimmer switch. He is not only professional but is also a a very nice person as well. We will be using Brad again in the future for sure.
Description of Work: Brad replaced a light fixture and dimmer switch in the dining room.
I've used him several times. I recommend him and would use him again.
Description of Work: They performed handyman services for me. He has performed electrical, plumbing, and carpenter work for me over the last three years.
Our project involved a little bit of everything, plumbing, electrical, tile work and general handyman work. Brad was prompt in responding to my inquiry. We spoke in detail about what we were looking to have done. After emailing him some pictures he was able to give me an estimate without the need for a site visit. Brad arrived on time and got right to work taking care to mask off the area to minimize the mess from the construction. He cut out a larger opening in the counter and installed a double sink. One thing that always bugged us about our kitchen was the fact that the switch for the disposal was located under the sink. Brad was able to re-rout the electrical to move the switch into the tile back splash wall, placing it right next to an existing outlet, it looks like it has always been there. He was meticulous in the plumbing work taking great care to make sure everything was watertight and there were no leaks or drips. His original estimate was 1 to 1 1/2 days. I appreciate that he stayed late to finish up in 1 day to minimize the inconvenience. I would definitely recommend Sir Fix-A-Lot and use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Replace kitchen sink, which involved cutting a larger hole in the granite tile counter top. Re-plumbed for a double sink and re-installed garbage disposal. Moved garbed disposal switch from under sink to kitchen wall.

Brad showed up promptly at 10:30 as arranged and got right to work. He did a great job asking questions to understand what I wanted and worked quickly and efficiently to install the new fan and duct-work. I had him go to Lowes to get some parts he needed about half way through the job. Once finished, he cleaned up after himself and left everything as he found it. Brad even fixed the attic access to open and close a bit more readily, disposed of a bee's nest he found in the attic and re-attached some insulation that had gotten out of place while he was up there. As he was leaving, Brad discovered the lock on the front door was a bit cumbersome to operate and fixed it in a couple of quick minutes. Overall, I was very satisfied with Brad's work and will be hiring him again soon to take care of some other issues around the house. He is careful, meticulous, and takes care of things in the house as if they were his.

Brad returned my call immediately despite the fact that he was out of the country at the time. We played a little bit of phone tag, but eventually were able to talk. I outlined what I needed done and he gave me an estimate of how much time it would take and how much it would cost. Both his estimates were spot on. He described in very good detail to me what I would need to purchase/prepare for the repairs I had requested. He showed up right on time, did the work I requested and everything he fixed looks great and is functioning properly. I still have a list of things that need to be fixed and I plan to use Sir-Fix-a-Lot again.
Description of Work: He replaced 4 sink fixtures in our bathrooms, repaired a hole in the drywall, fixed a non-working light fixture, fixed a broken attic access ladder and replaced missing spindles on our staircase.

I contacted Brad from information I found on Angie's List. He promptly returned my call and discussed work that I wanted done. He dropped by my house on the way home from another job to help me decide what could be done about a window that was in need of repair. We set a date for him to fix the window first, but I was unable to get the necessary part by the time we had scheduled him to do the work. In the meantime, I discovered my shed floor was rotted out and decided to have him replace the floor instead. He came promptly on the scheduled day, evaluated the supplies he would need to complete the job, drove to the lumber store to purchase what was needed - and completed the work, cleaning up when done. We scheduled the window repair for a later time.
Description of Work: I have an outdoor shed (a barn style from a kit). The particle board flooring provided in the kit had rotted out on one side. Brad took out the old rotted floor and installed a new treated plywood floor. He had to find a way to raise the shed further off the ground to lessen the chance of moisture affecting the new floor, put down a moisture barrier on the ground, and install the floor under the horizontal boards holding the walls. He completed the entire job in one day - staying even after it got dark to do so. He is professional, very knowledgable, and did an excellent job. He also gave me advice about some other work that I knew needed to be done. I scheduled another time for him to come and do future work.

This will be our third time having Brad do work on our house. He has done an amazing job each time. His work is detailed and thoughtful and he really works with you to make sure you get the result you want. His work is top notch and he is so easy to work with. He is also very trustworthy and I am very comfortable being out and about while he is working in my home. I also am comfortable being home with my two kids while he is there. As long as we live in the area we will continue to use Brad!

We have used Brad before and will use him in the future. Extremely satisfied. Brad is very competent and has high integrity. He was also kind enough to donate his services to a charity Rotary Auction.
Description of Work: Brad Ryno built a new deck cover for a spa pump, installed new new recessed light fixtures, did some re-wiring, built custom shelves for a recessed laundry area, and built and installed a new plug and wiring for a washing machine.
Ryan has done a number of things over the last 3 or 4 years and we have been very happy with what he has done. He is definitely a handyman. The jobs have gone very well and we have recommended him to others on occasion. We last used him in the spring; then a couple of times last year and a couple of times the year before. He charges $50 per hour plus materials with a 4-hour minimum. We usually have him here for the day. His prices are certainly competitive and fair.
Description of Work: We used Sir Fix-A-Lot to finish some hardwood flooring and he did some granite countertop repairs. He has done some light construction for us. He also did some drywall, electrical and a whole bunch of stuff.

I have metal roofing on both my house and detached studio. This year I decided I definitely needed to take care of the leaks. Since the roofing material is only about 9 years old (but not installed by a professional roofer), I was hoping to find someone to at least consider trying to fix the problems (which I suspect all have to do with flashing), rather than doing a completely tear-down and new roofing installed. This appears to be the usual MO for roofing companies, especially with metal, since they can't guarantee the roof if they didn't install it. Based on Angie's List reviews, I thought I'd give Sir Fix-A-Lot (Brad) a try. I emailed him today -- a Saturday -- and he almost immediately called me back! Even more surprising was, he was calling to tell me he doesn't work on metal roofs but gave me a referral to someone he thought did. I called Brad's referral and will be getting an estimate next week! This, to me, shows the character of the person behind the business. I have a bunch of other little projects after the roofs get fixed, and I'll definitely be calling Sir Fix-A-Lot for help.

He is just excellent. I couldn’t recommend him any higher. He is very helpful and does excellent work. HE is very contentious and is a hard worker. He is very smart and can adapt and make things work. I can’t think of anything more you would want from a handyman. He is very reasonable cost wise.
Description of Work: He has done quite a bit of work for me. He has done some carpentry work for me. He replaced some rooted wood at my old house. He put in my washer and dryer, installed in some shelves, and did some electrical work as well. He repaired the doors to the utility room. He also removed a light fixture and put in two new electric light cans.

Our house is a 1939 single story bungalow with a basement. We emailed Sir-Fix-a-lot with our list of requests and he responded with detailed questions to elicit more information from me about the projects. After our initial email correspondence, he came out and actually looked at the projects. He was very professional and talked to me about whether or not I really needed to do what I had initially requested. After further discussion with my family, we decided to go forward with our entire list. I asked him what I would need to purchase for our projects and he emailed me a list of materials. He arrived at our house when he said he would and proceeded to complete the projects in a very timely manner. He cleaned up after each project, including the drywall dust created after he had to install drywall around the kitchen exhaust and the downstairs bathroom exhaust. He made sure to ask me if I approved of what he was about to do before he did it to make sure it was what I wanted and expected. He is very cheerful and personable. While he was here I asked him how I should remove a broken light-bulb in a basement ceiling fixture we had that I couldn't remove from its socket as I was not able to tell if the power was on. He asked me for rubber handled pliers and out it came. He explained what he was doing so I could do it on my own next time if necessary. I would most definitely use his services again and plan to do so later this year to install some light fixtures in our closets.
Description of Work: move the dryer exhaust fan from the window in the basement to the basement wall, replace the exhaust fan in two bathrooms (one in the basement and one in the main floor), install a ceiling exhaust fan in my kitchen.

We had Brad out to our house late last year, primarily to consult and fix a leaking roof that had subsequently caused wall damage in our bathroom. While not a large-scale roofing project, it was a leak that had plagued us for some time. Having a rare all-aluminum roof, we were generally unable to get other roofers to work the problem (for whatever reason). Brad approached the problem with enthusiasm, doing a thorough inspection of our bathroom and attic before re-flashing and sealing a poorly seated bathroom fan. As I say, not a huge job, but done with great attention to detail. We also had Brad inspect several faulty electrical outlets, which he was able to diagnose and fix in no time at all. Brad's professionalism and value mean that we'll definitely have him back in the future.

Excellent. Brad was early which worked out great. He has an eye for detail and works for perfection and is very professional.
Description of Work: Brad replaced approx. 15 light switches that either did not work or were dated. He installed an ARC shower rod in one bathroom. Also he installed a new thermostat and realigned the front door and a kitchen drawer.
This was our second project with Brad. A few weeks earlier he replaced a patio door with French doors. For that project and the laundry room, he had to do some creative problem solving (door frame was too shallow for our house; laundry room floor was not level because of a DIY addition by the previous owner). For each, Brad came up with an inexpensive solution that looks/works great. We paid labor only and purchased all materials ourselves. Brad gave me a shopping list, and I went to the store to get everything. The interior door was too big for my car, so he picked that up. For a previous project, Brad phoned in an order to Dunn Lumber, so I just had to pick up the materials. This kept Brad's labor time down, and lowered the total costs. For each project, we ended up paying Brad more than the initial quote, but in each case, there were some add-ons. His prices are very reasonable, and we paid him a bonus on one project because he did such a great job. Brad is very easy to work with, and he's helpful with making decisions. We've already asked him to come back again to do some more things around the house. Update: Brad recently finished our deck for us. The final price exactly matched his quote.. He replaced our temporary steps and added a railing. Though I contacted 4 different people to get a bid on the deck, Brad was the only person willing to bid on such a small job. The railing and steps look great, and we're getting lots of compliments. One thing that's great about working with Brad is that he keeps me in the loop on how the project is going. He checks in several times a day to make sure everything is how I expected it and to give me a chance to make small decisions, such as the precise height of the stair rail, the exact positioning of the skirt, etc.
Description of Work: Brad expanded our laundry room by removing a wall, moving some electrical switches, installing two new doors (one interior, one exterior to the garage), installing new flooring, and painting the walls/ceiling. ($1400) Brad also finished our Trex deck by adding a railing and steps. ($1000)
The job went great. He was very prompt and professional. He tackled all my projects and was very flexible.
Description of Work: Sir Fix-A-Lot did repair and maintenance work on the house including some drywall repair, interior painting and caulking and minor electrical work that had to do with lighting.
