I contacted Brad and he responded within a day or two. I emailed him some pictures of the walls so he was able to provide a very accurate estimate. He also provided recommendations on the type of baseboard trims I should buy, where, and the timing. We scheduled the work a few weeks out as Brad's schedule is pretty full. The scheduling process and the communication with Brad were excellent! On the day of, Brad showed up on time as promised, he asked questions and made sure he knew exactly how we wanted the trims to fit in each room, and went right to work. He started at 9am and didn't finish until 7pm, definitely putting in a full day's work as he had estimated. Cutting MDF trims can be very dusty, but Brad managed to keep our house and his work space nice and clean when it was all done. And most importantly, Brad was meticulous and did an amazing job with the installation of the baseboards. We are extremely satisfied and will be using him again for another project coming up.
Description of Work: Removed existing moldings and installed new baseboard trims around the house.

Ie-mailed Brad, got an answer that evening. I I told him what needed to be done. We met at Home Depot and purchased all items needed ( I had no idea what to get) Returned home. he immediately started to work. No time off, no phone calls, breaks etc. He had met me at 9 am and worked until 7 pm. The second day was the same. He arrived on time, did the work as planned. He did an excellent job, was very business like, but at the same time friendly and personable. His work ethic is great, he responds to calls, e-mails, etc. immediately. He is on time, never late. He always shows you what he is doing, asks if you like it done this or that way, I cannot say enough. Brad is excellent. it is sooo nice to trust that he will be there, do a good job, and charge a fair price. The only mistake you can make with him is to not hire him. What more can I say.
Description of Work: Tore down and built a new gate and fence, replaced a toilet, repaired holes from previous light fixtures in kitchen ceiling, involving dry wall, paint etc. Put lattice on building by stairs. Dug dirt and filled with pavers to keep dog from digging under the fence.

I emailed Brad for an estimate and his availability. The estimate was in line with what I expected, but he was already booked out for about a month. Based on his reviews I decided to go ahead and get on his calendar anyway and it was definitely worth the wait!! Brad is very professional and honest. He worked all day and into the evening to fix our hardiplank. He picked up the supplies required, provided the receipts, and even took the unused supplies back to Dunn Lumber the next day and had them credit my credit card! I cannot say enough about this guy! I would recommend him to my friends and family. My husband and I have already scheduled him to come back and fix some other things that need repair around the house. A++++++

This man deserves the title "SIR". He responded to my calls promptly. He arrived when he said he would. He was very professional, but not stuffy. I felt very comfortable having him working in my home. He was very respectful of my new appliances and new floor making sure no damage was done. He is now on speed dial on my phone and indeed I just called to request that he contact me as I have more work to be done. I also believe he would have told me if he felt he could not perform the work requested.
Description of Work: I had recently purchased new appliances for my kitchen, but kept the existing cabinets which were in good condition and which I still liked. The new appliances were either too small (wall oven) or too big (fridge) or a different configuration (blower under cooktop) and a miracle needed to be worked. Brad worked that miracle. He made the cabinet above the fridge smaller, reinstalled it ... looks like it did when the cabinets were custom built to accomodate the old fridge. He reworked the ducting to the blower under the new cooktop to provide more storage and to protect the ducting from accidental puncture and put a false drawer front to conceal the gaping hole where a drawer had been. He lifted my wall oven higher so the drawer below it could close properly, straightened the oven and added trim to cover boards used to make the opening smaller. Again, it looks like a custom build. He also installed two new utility cabinets in my laundry room.

Brad spent a whole day and more getting to a variety of jobs that needed to be attended to to make the house 'move-in' ready, especially electrical and replacing missing lighting fixtures. He did a great job on everything asked of him working throughout the day and more, even working an additional couple of hours to get everything finished for a very reasonable rate. I think he got more done around here in one day than I would in six months. I plan on using Brad's services again in the future for the next round of odd jobs.

Brad is a skilled and conscientious worker. He's pleasant, courteous, prompt and gets the job done. This is the second job he's done for us and we're very pleased with his work. We'll definitely be calling him in the future. He's a hard worker. He makes sure that everything is perfect - he worked an 8 hour day at our house, pausing only for 15 minutes or so to scarf lunch in his truck. He is very on-task! We truly appreciate his skills and attention to detail and are so happy we've found someone we can rely on to get all the "little things" around the house done. We're already drawing up a list for his next visit!
Description of Work: Created new light fixture opening in main living area (had to put in wire, junction box, attach it to joist, install new toggle switch box in wall, etc.). Installed new fixture, also changed out ceiling light fixture in another room. Installed new fan timer switch in bathroom. Re-leveled and secured bath towel rack. Re-secured and leveled cabinet doors in bathroom, also secured cabinet to bathroom wall. Installed heavy decorative hook on bathroom wall. Fixed bedroom closet door so it latches properly to strike plate. Installed steel grid above stove for hanging pots. Installed garden hose hanger to house exterior. On a previous job, we initially called him to fix weather stripping along our back door, but he explained that the real problem was the threshold and the fact that it and the door didn't align properly. He then fixed the door threshold and also installed an accordian door between our main and back kitchen areas.

I wanted to have my ugly brick fireplace tiled over and the mantel redone. I picked out the tile ahead of time from a local tile shop and Brad picked up the amount needed for the job. He was very careful to prep the area because I have new hardwood floors. He started by taking off the mantel, which amounted to a bunch of layers of trim. To our surprise - once the trip pieces were removed, there was a great slab of wood remaining. I was happy to keep that slab to save on cost and Brad ran it through a plainer to clean it up a bit. He re-mounted the mantel so it was secure and tiled the fireplace. It was not a lot of money for a huge difference in appearance. I loved that he was flexible as we discovered the mantel could just be 'recycled' and cleaned up. That did end up saving money on the overall project and I loved the natural look.
Description of Work: Brad has done a lot of different jobs at my home ranging from electrical to tiling over my brick fireplace. Aside from being reliable and providing quality work - he is the nicest guy. Brad is very thorough in his work and will be upfront about challenges a job may face, so there are no surprises when you get a bill. I highly recommend Sir Fix-A-Lot, LLC!

After contacting Sir Fix Alot, I sent pictures of our kitchen, sent the dimensions of the walls to be tiled and dimensions of the tile we had purchased. He gave us a bid and a starting date. We accepted. He answered every question we had by phone or email. He was courteous and professional. He arrived every day on time and ready to work. He gave us a materials list and type of grout that we needed to chose a color of- Grout can be confusing... but he was patient and set up a sample for me to make my final decision from. He put the lights back in ( not part of the job ) and his clean-up was thorough- I would use him again in a heartbeat!
Description of Work: Brad from Sir Fix ALOT was a GEM of a find!! He completed our kitchen renovation by doing our wall tile work behind our counters. He was prompt, professional and VERY helpful in making decisions as to the grout, where and how to end the tile, how to put back the lights, etc. He worked with the tile we had chosen and helped us keep the price low by giving us a material list and letting me make the runs to Home Depot. ( His bid came in almost half of another tile guy- And completed in less time as well!!)

Brad was on time, he was professional and courteous, and quite helpful. Brad and I assessed the situation and we discussed possible solutions and the solution Brad came up with worked out great. Also, while in the attic, Brad noticed some exposed wires, a possible fire hazard, and told me how to take care of it. I fixed this the next day myself benefiting from the instructions he gave me. I also like that he didn't mind my working along side him. I'll definitely look to hire him the next time I need a handyman.
Description of Work: I hired Brad to help me fix textured (popcorn) ceiling/plaster that was cracked and separating from ceiling. The job was intimidating because of possibility of asbestos exposure.

Brad was very professional. He provided thorough estimates of the work and used considerable ingenuity in re-using some materials, figuring out how to stabilize the stairwell, and make the rainwater flow better off our roof. He capped some beams that protrude from the roof, to reduce potential for rot. He came to work immediately after we accepted his proposal and worked steadily until it was finished. Excellent craftsmanship.

it was a very satisfactory experience, I contacted Brad about a larger (full siding replacement) project but he indicated that was alittle beyond his scope (insurance liability wise) but I had a smaller project that we discussed over the phone and via e-mail with photos. He purposed an alternate idea to replacing the entire window surround with a clever idea I won't go into here . . bottom line it was fabulous, did the trick and saved me a few hundred $$. I was responsible for supplying the materials but I suspect Brad might be negotiable on that point. The initial quote was $500 for the day, he ended up finishing early ergo the $330. He's very knowledgeable and affable and I highly recommend you call him with your smaller projects . . if your not sure what "small" translates to call him, h*** defionitely call you back and you know what they say about a picture being worth 1000 words, send him a photo (if applicable).

I had been wanting to replace the dated pillars on the front of our house with something more traditional. I called Brad to see if this was a job he could do and he gave us a very fair estimate for the work. I then sent him pictures of what I wanted the pillars to look like and he gave me some different moulding options to check out at our lumber store. Once we finalized the design, Brad did the job in 2 days as promised. The work was impeccable and the job did not go over budget.

Brad is wonderful!. We had to book him a month in advance, so I was worried that he might forget the appointment. Not only did he remember, he arrived on time and was very professional in his approach. While he was here, my husband had to go out and get some parts at the hardware store as that was cheaper than paying for Brad's time to go. Brad offered to do other jobs that we had not initially requested while my husband was gone so that we could take full advantage of his time with us. I gave him a small list of things and he went right to work on them. When my husband returned he finished up the exhaust fan and shower door jobs and then returned to the jobs on the list I had given him. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and his professionalism. He tells you what he is doing and even makes suggesitons about how to improve certain operations, etc., in the future. We will most definitely have him come back for any handyman work we need in the future. He is now our "go to guy" for home repairs.

Brad's quality of work is very good - he is very conscious of things and does the work as it was his own home. In advance of the appointment, he askes for and reviews the list of projects ansking questions to make sure he/you have everything needed in terms of materials to complete each job. He not only does great work but is also a great guy - offering to take off some billable time as he took longer than expected, offering advice on possible options along with his recommendation, etc. The only downside is that he is so popular you need to book him a few weeks in advance:)
Description of Work: Brad is very capable/knowledgeable and handled many different projects on my list including installing a new faucet, fixing our electric gate, installing new light fixtures, and many other small projects.

I wish I had known about Sir-Fix-a-Lot two years ago! Then all of these odd jobs that I've put off doing around the house would have been done long ago! As far as work went, I emailed with Brad about a problem I had with a tile installation job in my bathroom. Of the three tile repair people I contacted through Angie's List, Brad was the only person who was willing to hear out my problem. Everyone else said they did not do small tile repairs (even though it was listed in their service profile!). Anyway, after about a week of emailing back and forth to come up with a suitable design solution, I had an appointment set up with Brad to come out and install a small row of tile around the top of my bathtub to cover a gap between the tile on the wall and the top of the tub. I picked up the tiles, grout, and mortar for Brad to use, and he arrived promptly at 10AM as scheduled. He was super friendly and professional from the get-go. Once I showed him around and gave him all the supplies, he set to work. He prepped the tile, cut everything and set it up for me to have a look before he set it with the mortar. Once I gave the thumbs up, he was back to work. While waiting for the mortar to set, I noticed Brad had set about fixing my front door. I had just thought that it was naturally sticky, but Brad made a few adjustments to the hinges and before I knew it, it was gliding open and shut with ease. After that, I set him loose on some closet doors that had been bothering me, and Brad cut them down by about 1/4" and now they're working better than ever! He even was able to figure out why some sliding glass doors had been sticking, and again, they're now working like new. Brad knocked out the grout, and he was on his way. His estimate for the tile work was spot on, so I felt like I was getting a steal when that ended up covering all the door work he did. I had also contracted with a big-box store to have a dishwasher delivered and installed that same day (Tuesday); unfortunately, the sub-contractor who was supposed to install the dishwasher bailed on me after he couldn't find parking near my building downtown. I emailed Brad to see if he could do a dishwasher installation on a short time frame (by then it was Wednesday, and we were having a series of parties on the weekend, so a functioning dishwasher was essential). Brad called me back that afternoon, and said he could come by and do the installation the following night after he finished up his previously scheduled work. Again, Brad came and worked his magic on the dishwasher, and everything was up and running in a little over an hour. We were very grateful he was able to squeeze in the dishwasher installation last minute. I'll be renting out my home while work takes me out of state for the next few years; I know who I'll be calling if my tenants have any problems!
