ray's hauling and junk removal

Ray was personable, timely and quick. Everything went fine. The price was a bit higher than I expected (based on wt of what to be removed) but probably only since I've never used this kind of service before. Would certainly use Ray for the next job. UPDATE: Just received a nice note from Ray with a check for some of my costs back because the dump fees ended up being less than he had anticipated. Now that’s what I call a class act! Thx, Ray!

Ray is great! I called him at 4 pm and he called me back promptly, asked what I needed hauled away and provided me with a quote over the phone. He showed up on time, was extremely courteous and careful in my home, skillfully removed three mattresses from my home and charged me the quoted amount. Terrific service, so easy and affordable. I highly recommend Ray and I would hire him again. Please note that Ray also has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.

Overall, it was a very professional, worry-free, and fast experience. Ray was was punctual and called 30 minutes before arriving to ensure that he was at the right place. Three highlights from hiring Ray for this job. 1. Ray is transparent; his price-quoting process is very detailed. First, he surveys the garbage that must be hauled and comes up with an initial price. Second, his partner does his own estimation. Third, they meet and compare notes and pricing to make sure it is competitive. Finally, Ray met with me and showed me the total cost breakdown, detailing the truck fee, dump fee, and labor. Initially, Ray quoted me $990 because of the large amount of trash. But then he advised me and said that some of the stuff was donatable, and that if I arranged for donations, I could save a lot of money. His partner said the same thing. I thought it was a good idea, so I asked for a quote for only stuff that would go to the dump. They came up with $525. More than just haulers, they gave good advice on how best (and cheaply) get rid of my stuff. 2. Ray is super customer-focused. Ray did the job on a Sunday morning with just two days notice. When I called and asked what date and time would be best, Ray said that he accommodates and works around his customer's schedule. Moreover, when he arrived on site, he made sure that he was taking the right stuff to the dump and kept asking me to confirm that he had taken everything that had to go to the dump. 3. Ray is fast. He came promptly at 9am. His price estimating process took 20 minutes. Then they started hauling jump from the backyard up to the dump truck (my house is built on a hill and so everything had to be hauled up on an incline). The actual loading of junk started at 9:23 am and ended at 10:08 am. They were out of here in just a little over an hour. Overall, Ray and his crew of 3 were professionals and went above and beyond by giving hauling advice. Before and after pictures are included. Most importantly, Ray is transparent and has a high standard of customer service . Bottom line, he does good, honest work.

Ray and his associate were on time and very organized. Some labor time was needed to disassemble a child's bed and a kitchen table. The work went quickly. I would definitely use Ray's Hauling again.

He was over the top because he was so good.I would assume his price is in the middle, if not better. We were so impressed with talking with him on the phone, we never called anyone else. Quality is over the top. Excellent professionalism. I would deal with him under any circumstance. He is outstanding in every area we dealt with him.

Ray and his son Ryan arrived at my home less than an hour after my call. They were courteous and professional. They also double checked with me to make sure they took everything I needed them to. I have used Ray before and I will definitely use him again.

This is the 3rd time we have used Ray Foley and son. They are very reliable, honest and hard working. The afternoon I called Mr. Foley, we set an appointment. He called to confirm and showed up right on time. They even offered to sweep out the garage for us. The items are either taken to the dump or recycled. Hopefully we wont need this service again, but if we did, we would definitely call and recommend his hauling service without hesitation!

Ray and his crew were fast on getting back with an estimate, and then were able to come out right away and get rid of an old hot tub that's been sitting dirty and unused since we bought the house several years ago. The hot tub was surrounded by our deck, so they had to cut it into several pieces before removing it. They did this without any damage to the deck afterward. Also, Ray was very good at making sure everything was safe with the electrical cord left behind once the tub was gone (he made sure I understood the circuit breakers should be off on the inside of the house and the outside for safety, a point I'm glad he didn't just assume I would automatically know). I had extra junk lying around the yard which hadn't been in the original quote, but after they loaded the hot tub and saw there was more room in the truck, they were able to take some extra stuff I pointed out (with no increase in cost). The price was good and they worked quickly and had great customer service skills. If you have a hot tub that you want gone and don't know what to do about it, call Ray and he will figure everything out for you. I imagine they would do just as well with anything else you want gone. We will definitely turn to Ray's Hauling in the future.

I'm writing this review because although I didn't end up hiring Ray to do the hauling work, I appreciated Ray returning my call as soon as he was able to retrieve his messages from a replacement phone (his phone met with a fatal mishap). He seemed very professional and caring, and sorry that he could not serve us this time. He did say that he is not much of a "computer person," and advised that if I want to hire him at some point in the future, it is best to reach him by phone, and not through the Angie's List message utility or via email. He was pleasant and professional, and struck me as being that rare kind of service provider who values a gracious, warm, and personal connection with his customers.

He was extremely responsive, set expectations effectively and worked around my schedule. Very professional and a pleasure to work with.

Ray and his team are my favorite contractors to call. He always responds, comes within 24 hours, is professional, kind, and thorough. His prices are great, and he has all the supplies - he came prepared for yard waste with a chain saw just in case, and has all sorts of equipment if it is required. I've used him multiple times and will continue to do so. Couldn't recommend him enough.
