Phil was a pleasure to work with on this project. As we were pointing out the trees that we wanted removed, he also pointed out a few dead ones that needed to come down as well. During the work, he was very professional and conscientious of surrounding structures and landscaping. He made sure that the site was clean before leaving for the day, blowing or raking all debris off the lawn and driveway. As promised, he dropped the trees, chipped all the branches, ground the stumps and cut all logs into manageable rounds for later splitting. He even offered to let us borrow his pneumatic splitter free of charge. My wife and I were very happy with the work he did for us and would definately use him again for tree service.
Description of Work: Removal of 14 trees around our property, 5 of which were very close to the house and most of which were very tall. All branches chipped and removed. All stumps ground to 4" below grade (he even ground a few other stumps that were left over from other trees falling over the years).

From the start it wasn?t a good experience. He didn?t show up for the original appointment to cut down the tree and I had to call him to remind him we had an appointment and to reschedule. I probably shouldn?t have rescheduled, but his price was very reasonable, so I gave him another chance. He showed up for the rescheduled appointment and did the work, which was satisfactory. However, after he left, I discovered damage had been done to my driveway by his truck. I called him and he said his truck could have done the damage and he would be by to take a look. When he did not show up in the next couple of days I called again. He did not answer and his voice mail box was full. Oh oh. Each time I called he did not answer and his voice mail box was full. I finally reached him, he gave excuses and again said he would come take a look, but would not give me a day or time. Well you guessed it, no show and no answers to phone calls or text messages. This went back and forth like this between 8/22/2011 and 9/10/2011, when I finally gave up. Steer clear of this guy and his company, Up A Tree. UPDATE: Interestingly this morning, 9/18/2011, I found Mr. Claussen's card on the ground at my front door. I have no idea when he came by, no phone call first to see if it was convenient or if I was even home (I wasn't). I have no faith at this point that any phone call from me will be answered.
Description of Work: Cut down a cherry blossom tree, chipped branches, left large pieces of trunk for me to use as firewood, cleaned up.
