+ -1 moreThe end result works great, but getting there took some effort. The biggest headache was that before installation it was "no problem -- we've put systems in even smaller locations" and during installation they had to disassemble the system then reassemble in the tight space, which wasn't planned. The way it's installed will make servicing quite a tricky matter. The people were very nice to work with, but one particular worker needed a bit more common sense.
Description of Work: Installed evaporator and condenser units and lines for heat pump system.

+ -1 moreChris's estimate was very reasonable and his knowledge of product was superb. I have allergies so we wanted a superior filter system. He was able to give me recommendations of different types and feedback from others who installed that same product. He was very willing to take time to answer all my little questions. The installer, Pat, was on-time, very pleasant, and zoomed through the install. I couldn't believe how fast and smoothly the whole thing went. System works great.
Description of Work: We had a full furnace install with digital thermostat, electronic filter system, and allergan reduction, less the ducting in the house.

+ -1 moreRepair person showed up at the wrong house and somehow got his tools locked int there. When he did repair the furnace (and I use the word repair loosely) I returned to the house to find that the blower still didn't work. After a second visit the furnace stopped working after a couple weeks. I looked into the furnace box and found that he had replaced the filter with a filter that was the wrong size and didn't even cover the vent hole, and was damaged as well. I'm sitting in a 50deg house writing this having just joined Angies list to find a more reputable service tech.
Description of Work: Had a furnace damaged in a flood from a broken water connection in the bathroom. The furnace had quite a bit of water in it and had shorted out. We had a service person come out to assess the damage. Repair or Replace. The service tech replaced the circuit board the first visit and a second part on the second. Two weeks later the unit does not work again and now rust is apearing at some of the panel junctions.

+ -1 moreNot well, and now Norhwoood is threating to ruin our credit if we do not pay for the second service call.
Description of Work: We called to check our heating system which has a gas furnace and a heat pump on Friday January 23rd 2009. They said that there was a wire not connected and gave us a guarantee. Cost $180. The next day the heating system shut down and no one would answer their phone at Northwood and the it was very cold. We had to use space heaters all weekend. They came out again on Tuesday fixed the problem but wanted to charge us another $180 and they said it had worked for 24 hours. Northwood Guarentee from their web site- "If, when they have finished in your home, they have not performed in accordance with these high standards, you don’t pay until you are satisfied with the results".
