Description of Work: I was a little annoyed that the voucher didn't specify whether gas or electric. That should be made clear in the future. I needed the heat pump serviced as well and of course that wasn't included. I ended up buying a year's supply of filters. I paid Angie's List $154 and spent an additional $601.16 to Bob's Heating and Air Conditioning. An unwelcome surprise.

Hi [Member Name Removed], thank you for your review and rating, and for your business. I took the initiative to look at the notes from your call so I could understand your additional charges. Of course, no one likes hearing that they have to pay more than they originally intended, however, all of your charges are justifiable, if unwelcome. The coupon you bought through Angie's List covers the inspection, tune up and cleaning of your furnace only, as well as a free furnace filter. It does not include the tune up for your second piece of equipment, or any replacement parts or materials. We discounted the tune up on your heat pump since we were already at the house. In addition, we replaced your capacitor, added more refrigerant to your system, and sold you a year's worth of filters. All of this added up to that additional $600, which was unforeseeable and could not have been predicted before going out to your home and assessing the situation. Again, thank you for trusting Bob's with your equipment, and we are pleased to see by your rating that although you may not have loved the price tag, your customer service experience was overall a great one. :)

Description of Work: My furnace was making noise (more obnoxious than usual) I knew it was old and so read up on it enough to know I most likely would have to replace it; I looked up the several heating company's to get a feel for what to expect (so read both pro & con user responses); Fortunately for me, mild winter. Bob's Heating was able to come out and diagnose the issue right away; it would entail replacing the furnace (no surprise to me was probably original 1956 furnace). They were able to install 2 days later (my choice, they could had done sooner), all appointments were made and met, all workers very professional and respectful; inspection by Bob's scheduled and met, final inspection by the city went without issue (Bob's did all the right stuff). I should note my total cost included duct cleaning post the install. My ONLY con would be that as they worked on the install they unplugged a few things in the area but did not get them all plugged back in, one was my freezer. So I ended up tossing all my freezer items away as I didn't notice right away. (fortunately for me, small freezer with little in it). So I would just make sure for your own sake that power is restored to appliances upon work being completed. |I overall highly recommend this company - even the city inspector stated "Bob's...they do good work". Do I know if I could have gotten the work done elsewhere for less, no I don't; Bob's entire staff made me feel comfortable from the first phone call; they gave me the time I needed to make my decisions and I feel I was not sold more than what the house needed and was dealt with respectfully.
