When they made an appointment, they were here on time and they always finished on time. My garage is full of tools, and I did not feel the need to stay out there and watch my tools. Their prices were excellent. Their customer service was fantastic and they always remembered who you were. When you called them, your account popped up on their screen and they knew exactly who they were speaking to.

I have been using them for about seven or eight years. They have always been responsive. Since, we have a service contract with them they always show up in emergencies pretty much whenever we want. I guess we get priority service because of the service contract.

Technicians were supposed to come "after 12pm". I called about 12:30 to ask their customer service person if they had an approximate time. They said it'd be by 3. I said I sure hope so because we have other committments at 5. At 3:35 I got a call that said they wouldn't be able to make it until 5:30 or 6:00. They were doing their best to get their tech's "caught up". I made arrangements in my schedule to home all afternoon. I guess they obviously thought their time was more important than mine.

Unfortunately, a technician running late can happen from time to time. We apologized for our delay. Fortunately, this customer forgave us and has had us back our to his house twice for furnace and AC inspection/maintenences since then.

THE WHOLE PROCESS WAS A NIGHTMARE, THE INSTALLERS DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH, THEY SPENT MORE TIME DRINKING COFFEE/SODA AND TALKING ON THEIR CELL PHONES THAN THEY DID WORKING. THERE WERE SOME PROBLEMS/ISSUES ALONG THE WAY THAT WERE UNABLE TO BE DISCUSSED DUE LANGUAGE BARRIER. MANY ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS AFTER THE INSTALLATION. THEY HAD TO RETURN TO MAY HOME AT LEAST 5-6 TIMES TO CORRECT ISSUES.

They removed the old furnace and installed a new one for us. The price was competitive. They put in the venting for the new furnace and cleaned out all the heating ducts in the house. I was satisfied with the work. They were professional and respectful. They were well trained and knew what they were doing. They cleaned up well. Wherever they were working, they put down some sort of a cover on the carpets or on the floor. They even cleaned up the mess in the garage. The price was about average. They were here when they said they were going to be here.

Installation was professional and non-invasive (our unit is in the garage though). We have used Bob's for years cleaning our old furnace & servicing when necessary and have always been pleased. Chuck cleaned our unit in Jan. of 2007 and suggested we may want to look at new systems (our old system was 20 years old) because of the increased efficiency. He did a great job of explaining the different systems. Gabe then came out in October, 2007 and did an excellent job of further describing the systems available. Joe installed our new system in Nov. 2007 and everything they said would happen from increased heat, uniform heat throughtout the house, cost savings, quietness, cleaner air, etc. have all been true. We had our first cleaning & checkup in Nov. 2008 and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice of unit or our choice of Bob's. Try Them!
Description of Work: We installed a new bryant furnace and electronic air cleaner. We had done our research on line and knew which model we needed and also knew that even though we had a large home we didn't need a top of the line furance because it wouldn't be as efficient. With this in mind we called three companies. Two of them recommended the model we had researched, however Washington Energy Services started off their quote with the most expensive model and by far the most pressure to buy. Gabe from Bob's was professional, knowlegable and very sure of what we needed and that fit with our research.

They had a discount going. They were very professional. They came out and gave us an estimate, and we saved a bit of money by installing the new furnace. They installed it in one day, came back another day, and did a couple of followups. They cleaned up well after themselves. They explained everything and suggested what type of furnace to put in.

Everything happened as planned. The men were patient with my questions and showed me how to take better care of the furnace in the future. The work was done quickly and I hope efficiently. (I really can't judge this as nothing was "wrong" to begin with.)
Description of Work: After the long cold spell, I decided to have the gas furnace cleaned as it had been a few years. I was told over the phone how much the cleaning would cost and how long it would take. Once the service man arrived and did the work, he explained to me why he thought I should get the air ducts cleaned as well. This was set-up for the following week.

Bob's sent out a technician that same day. He ended up doing a routine cleaning and maintenance on my furnace and never found why the furnace was having so much difficulty turning on; however, in the process of cleaning the problem went a way. It has worked fine ever since. I called another contractor first, but after learning that they charged $98 just to how up (and doing NO work), Bob's charges a similar fee but it at least covers the first half hour of work. I don't see how these companies can charge so much for just showing up and it covers no time worked at all (unless, of course they don't proceed with doing the job for some reason.)
Description of Work: I called Bob's because my furnace was needing to make two to four tries before it would actual light up and run.

The experience was good. They came out to do an analysis and give a quote. They were very thorough. The technician was good at explaining the process and products. I did some comparing with other venders and decided that Bob's Heating & Air Conditioning had the best quality of furnace. I was impressed with their interactions as well as price. We were able to get a convenient time scheduled. When they came out and installed the furnace I had a question that they immediately responded to and took care of. Overall, I was satisfied.

The project was completed with no problems. Our new furnace is keeping us warm and the inspector shows up tomorrow. I will assume no problems on that front either!
Description of Work: John from Bob's Heating took one look at our 20 year old furnace and told us we got 3-4 years more out of it than we should of. It was time to replace it with a new, more energy efficient furnace. The price included the furnace and installation, new thermometer and a 5 year extended warranty. Three days later, Daniel came to install the furnace. He worked diligently for 4-5 hours installing the furnace and new pipework. Both John and Daniel were very friendly, clean, professional men.

I had used Bob's in the past to service my furnaces in my previous homes. I have always been satisfied by their work, so when I wanted to install A/C I called Bob's. The sales rep showed up on time and described the different Bryant units. I chose the top of the line Evolution series with a 17 SEERrating. He quoted me a price to install the central air and also the Northridge earthquake valve. It was a bit more than I had expected but chose to proceed. Later on I checked around and found that the price wasn't so bad after all. The rep said that normally they were running about three weeks out but they had an opening in on week. I was very happy they could install the unit so quickly. The day before the install and the morning of the install Bob's called me to remind me that they were coming out. They arrived at 9am and were done with the job at 3pm. I couldn't believe how fast they were able to install since the furnace had lots of major ductwork modifications. The days before the install the outside temperature was in the upper 80's. As luck would have it the days following the install were high 60's low 70's, not warm enough to test out the A/C. A warm day finally arrived on a Sunday. The A/C worked great for a couple of hours, but then I noticed that the air coming from my registers wasn't cold anymore. The compressor had shut down. I lowered the temp setting on my thermostat to try and trigger the compressor but it wouldn't go back on. I called Bob's and left a voicemail. In a couple of minutes Bob;s called back and told me they would have a technician out within three hours (on a Sunday late afternoon). I was happy with that but even happier when the technician showed up in a half hour. The service tech checked out the A/C unit and was surprised to find a defective high/low limit circuit board. He has never seen this before. He didn't have the replacement part. He told me that Bob's would call the next day to let me know when they would be back to replace the defective part. Bob's called the next day and told me the part had to be shipped in from Oregon and that I should expect to hear back from them on Wednesday. Bob's didn't call me on Wednesday. I called Bob's on Thursday to ask them whats up and they said they did get the part and would be able to come over the next day Friday to install it. The same service tech as before arrived promptly on Friday. When he was installing the new part apparently he discovered that the high/low circuit board wasn't the problem, but was the switch that the circuit board went in to (making the circuit board loose and leading to malfunction). He fixed the problem. I tested the unit out. It was a warm day and the new A/C cooled off the house quickly. I was impressed that the air temperature at my floor registers was in the mid 40 degree F mark. I wasn't too happy that the Bryant A/C malfunctioned but was happy that Bob's responded quickly and professionally. I will definitely use Bob's again in the future.
Description of Work: I had Bob's install a new 3 ton two-stage Bryant Evolution central air conditioner, new Honeywell wall thermostat, and a Northridge gas earthquake valve.

They were very smooth, they came in on time with the right parts. They laid out cloths, and disassembled the old one and carted them out in boxes so it didn't deposit any of the stuff there. Installed the new equipment and showed us how to use it. There were one or two minor problems, it was with the freon, they upgraded it with a newer coolant, and offered to replace it. One electrical switch blew out and it took about an hour to figure it out. When they installed the heater they gave an option for a 10 year service contract. A lot of companies offer that, it's not cheap, at first we were unsure if we wanted to spend that money, but it needed replacement parts at some point. The cost over time was equal to the parts over time. So we went through it. They've done the service each time, with no extra cost.
Description of Work: Replace natural gas heater, because it was 20 years old at the time. Bought an air conditioning system with them. Involved installing not just the heating equipment along with forced blowers. Product line is really good.

It went well overall. Danny, the installer, showed up on time and prepared to work. He had all the parts needed to get the job done. The furnace works excellent and Gabe (rep) did a great job sizing it for our heating needs. Danny kept the house clean and wore protective boots so our hardwoods wouldn't be scratched. We love our furnace and the way it evenly heats the house. We had to have Bob's come out three week's later due to a wire rubbing the door and the service was very professional. We plan to sign up for their extended warranty program which includes a yearly furnace check up.
Description of Work: Had a basic 80% efficiency furnace installed in pantry area, one new duct & vent installed in bonus room, removal and disposal of old furnace. The new furnace has a slightly different shape so one area I wasn't happy with is on the quote Bob's didn't include the new exhaust pipe ($110) when it was obvious the old one couldn't be used due to the the layout. Also was quoted $175 for new thermostat since we were switching from single stage to two stage heater and told we needed a new one but when I talked to the manufacturer they said a single stage thermostat would work fine and later Gabe confirmed this was true. We had replaced the thermostat a year earlier with a two stage one so thought that was a sneaky way to up sell. Gabe was very prompt at returning all calls and answering questions, he was extremely helpful.

Called Bob's for a check on our old furnace and discovered there were too many repairs required. They gave us a quote for a new one. Had three other companies come out for estimates but went with Bob's in the end partly because they would refund the $140 paid for the service to the old furnace if we went with them. Overall happy with the work done, but the installers knocked the nearby utility sink loose from the wall and did not tell us about it. We discovered it after they had left.
Description of Work: Removed old furnace and replaced with Bryant furnace.
