Chris called in AM to let me know he was coming and arrived precisely on time. He was phenomenal in explaining the process of cleaning the furnace and ducts and was so awesome with my kids. Chris kept me abreast as to when Tyler, the furnace tech would come. Tyler arrived exactly on time as well and was very thorough with his work servicing my furnace. He gave me quotes on new equipment that I requested. There was no attempt at upsell, this was simply responsive to my request. I could go on about these guys endlessly but it is important to note the impression they left was so good I won't even bother calling around for my next service.

The furnace is located in the rental unit and we gave them access while we were at work. They did a great job of following up with us and letting me know of potential maintenance down the road. All-in-all I say it was worth the tune-up/check-up. we've been in the house for 5 years and it's peace of mind to know that everything's in working order and there's no gas leaks or unusual things going on that maybe we wouldn't know of.

I paid $300 for a tune up and inspection of my heat pump and furnace. What I got: Fixed 2 wires and then told me I needed a 100% gut and replacement on every part, totally $9K. The system was shot/old and they couldn't tune it up, but still charged me for it. I could have received the same service for free by any other company. I called another company and they agreed that most, not all, has to be replaced with new products. Everything was done in one day and cost $5,000 for a new heat pump and furnace with install from the other company. The parts were $4100 and labor was $900. Bob's heating and air wanted almost $5,000 labor for 8 hours of work, complete rip offs, STAY AWAY!!!

Hi[member's name removed] thank you for your review. I looked up your customer record to get a better understanding of what happened out at your home. According to our technician and our notes, we were unable to perform the maintenance and tune up of your heat pump due to the age and disrepair of the equipment. Many areas were rusted through, wires were burned and melted at the capacitor and about 15 feet of lineset was exposed with large scratched and dents. Because of this, we will be issuing you a refund check for the heat pump portion of your invoice. This should have been noted on your service invoice, and our accountants have already issued the check. On your air handler inside the home, the technician was able to make a repair on the loose wire that connects the sequencer, which he did. He then cycled the unit and was able to get you heat, therefore this portion of the job is chargeable. The $9000 price that you quoted is actually $8200 to replace the indoor and outdoor units, and the additional charge of $800 was to pump down and remove the old refrigerant from your lineset and change over the refrigerant to R410a, which is the current refrigerant used in new equipment. We stand behind our assessment of your equipment and strongly urge you to consider replacement. From what I understand from the technician, most of your parts cannot be repaired due to the condition of the equipment. After you receive your refund check for the portion we were unable to complete, I would really appreciate it if you would consider revising your review and your grade. I called the company enquired, decided to use their service and booked an appointment prior to signing up for a deal on Angie's list. I informed them that I'll pay for it right away after our call so please make sure that the date is locked for me. She assured me once she receive the trigger email from Angie's List of my purchase, my appointment will be booked. Fast forward - today, I waited the whole morning and nobody showed up. I called Bob and they informed me that there wasn't any trigger from Angie's List and that's why they thought the deal was off. I was worried at this point as this was a job I had to do for my house sale which was closing really soon. The representative from Bob immediately apologised, asked for my confirmation code for purchase, and scheduled for someone to come over. I called them at about 2, the technician was here at 4.30pm! David, the service technician came well equipped and very professional. He came in, went immediately to work, get it done and cleaned up the furnace area after the job is done. I informed him that we just had our filters changed. But he still proceeded to check it and told me that it could be new, but they are dirty, and proceeded to had it replaced (complimentary). I'm really happy with my overall experience with them. No cookie cutter. Just brilliant.

Provider was prompt and fast. He didn't find any problems with the furnace, and gave me recommendations on scheduling for future yearly checks. We received several quotes to replace our broken AC unit as well as provide a new matching variable speed furnace. Our house has three levels and we had a zone system installed when we built the house so that the lower floor could have its own temperature control. Most companies that quoted us seems to be guessing at what equipment would work best. Bob's sent out two install technicians BEFORE they quoted to check out the zone system. Their quote was based on professional knowledge and actual site inspections and measurements. The install went great. It was a long day for the installers, but they hung in there until it was done. There were some changes to the system that had to be made to work with our old zone dampers, but they had planned on that and adjusted our zone dampers to work with the new equipment. It took a couple of hours on another day to tweak everything to work together, but our heat and ac has never worked so well. The new zone control and thermostats they installed work great together to get the most efficient use of our HVAC units. We finally have a matched system that brings out the best in a zoned system for a larger home. We called Bob's because they did work for my sister and she was thrilled. We chose to use Bob's after getting all the quotes because they took the time up front to make sure everything would work well with our zone system. The experienced staff of Bob's was great to work with.

They installed the unit in our house. We have the warranty thing, so other than that it was good. They were out in November when the heater would not work. There is a drip pan under the heater in the attic and it had tripped a switch so all he had to do was clean it up and put it back into service. In March of this year something happened and the heater quit. They came back again and checked it out and got the heater going again. There was no charge on it. Their service is good. They are the ones who installed it so they know what is going on. The only thing is I think they are too expensive. Their upfront charge is high. The filter for the furnace and air conditioner is a special-made one and I have not been able to buy it locally. They charge about $40 for it so I think they are a little high, but they do all of the installation and most of the service for out here in this neighborhood.

The air conditioner unit was under warranty, as Bob's had originally installed it, so it was no cost. The technician knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it very quickly. This company has been so wonderful. We use them for the filter service, where they send out a new filter each quarter, which is my reminder to change it. It's very reasonably priced and it's really nice to have it home delivered.

I came home at 5:30 to find a cold house. My wife was bundled up in bed with the flu so she was in no condition to realize the furnace had gone out. I've been using Bob's Heating and Air Conditioning for about 15 years now. We used them for maintenance of the furnace on the first house we moved into in Bellevue for the entire 5 years we lived in the home. When we purchased the home we're in now, we were happy to find the newly-installed furnace was done by Bob's and we were able to continue using them to service this furnace as well. I would never claim their services to be outstanding, but rather, reliable. I could schedule appointments easily, and could either meet them at the house or provide them a key when I couldn't be home. I trusted them to give me an honest bid for honest work and I've always been satisfied with their work. I never used anyone else. So when I discovered the furnace wasn't working, I called Bob's like I always do. When I reached the woman whom I assumed was the scheduler, I explained the issues with the furnace and she gave me a couple of helpful tips to try before they sent a service person out. I hung up and tried her suggestions but unfortunately none of them worked. I called her back and told her I would need to have someone come out. She said that it was now after 5:30 and all her service people had put in a full day's work so the service call would now have to be considered an "emergency" call. Besides the normal $129.00 service call, she would have to add another $200.00 on top of that plus whatever other parts and labor needed. I explained to her that I was a long-standing customer and inquired if I was a first-time caller who just opened the yellow pages to furnace repair and with my eyes closed, I pointed to their ad and called to get a price, how much would the quote be? Of course, she responded with the same price as I knew she would -- I was just trying to make a point. Yes, I could have hung up and tried to call around for a better price. But I was only into my second day back to work from being out with pneumonia. My wife was in bed with the flu ( the reason I didn't want to try and make it through the night until the following morning where it would have then become a "normal" service call -- my wife would have had to deal with it while she was ill) and if that wasn't enough, I had pet parrots that needed to stay warm. I just needed heat right away and felt I didn't have much choice. I am so disheartened to find "customer loyalty" means nothing to this company and I am contemplating never using this company again.
Description of Work: My furnace went out while I was at work and my wife was in bed with the flu. A service person came out and installed a simple common part that usually is the first part they look for -- an igniter. Joseph is a serviceman they hire to work evening hours for specifically doing emergency work. He wasn't an employee who worked all day and then had to extend his work hours to come and fix our furnace(see related comment from scheduler below).

He traced the problem for over an hour and found that it was a design flaw in the heat pump. A wire had been vibrating and rubbing, causing the outer housing ( for lack of a better term) to break and wire was now exposed causing the short. I called Bob's first thing in the am on one of the coldest days of the year. They assured me they had someone that could come out in a few hours. I appreciated the precise time they gave as it allowed me to lose very little time at work. Service tech was also friendly and professional. For a first time customer they went the extra mile. They will be my go-to in the future!
Description of Work: Trouble shot my furnace and heat pump. Fixed the problem and serviced the furnace. He suggested that they check the heat pump in warmer weather to make sure it was functioning at optimal levels.

It seems to me that you may be forgetting some of the components of your interaction with us, which is understandable because is was nearly two years ago. Our records indicate that we sent a service tech out to your home on April 16, 2013. At that time our service tech, Josh, diagnosed a failed blower motor and a failing sequencer and quoted for replacement of both parts. Our notes indicate that you were trying to sell your home and declined the repairs. You mentioned to Josh that if you could not sell your home by fall you would call us back for a quote on a new furnace. That following September, you called us for a quote on a new furnace. We sent a sales person out to your home on September 25, 2013. He supplied you with a quote for a new furnace at that time. So, as you can see, we did all that you asked for, and we did not refuse service or try to make you buy a new furnace. I hope this clears up any misconception. Terrible. Bob's was hired by Burnstead Construction to install all Burnstead A/C and ventilation for our new construction home. We removed our built-in over-range microwave which died, and upon trying to install the new unit, we discovered that Bob's didn't line up the ventilation pipe to the exterior of our home, so the microwave vent was actually venting INTO THE DRYWALL IN OUR KITCHEN. The person we hired to install the microwave refused to install it due to the liability of seeing this. So there we sat, not knowing what to do, no microwave, no ventilation, and a big hole in our wall. We contacted Bob's and explained the situation and they REFUSED to come out and fix the issue. Plain and simple. Their reply was rude, but what was worse, they refused to fix a problem they created. A messy, disgusting, oil-based hazard. Because of how Bob's handled this issue, putting the burden on us, I will never again use them for anything.
