Services we offer
General Contractor that is a full service water and fire damage restoration company. Insurance repair specialists affiliated with most insurance companies. Experts in earthquake and wind damage, tree strike removal and complete rebuilt or remodel of home or commercial properties.
We had a pipe burst while we were on vacation, and dealt with our insurance (Amica) over the phone for the first few days. Amica works with Alliance, and before we could fully understand the situation, Alliance was hired to pack our stuff and demolish the first floor of our house. Of course, if we had had the time to research Angies List, we wouldn't have hired them. They packed our kitchen, and did a terrible job with the packing. Just as a representative example, they placed our cast iron dutch oven on top of our non-stick wok without any protection in between. Many of our favorite items were scratched or damaged in some way. They were completely careless with the packing. They did an ever worse job with demolition. Since we have wood floors, they got pretty badly damaged by the water and they had to rip them out. We had built-in closet shelves full of books hanging on the wall but touching the floor in our office, so they ripped out the floor everywhere in the office except under the shelves (even though the floor was very obviously damaged). When we got back from our vacation, we called them as asked if they could remove the rest of hardwoods. Even though they were getting paid by our insurance to pack our stuff, after the horrible job they did with the kitchen, we decided to pack the shelves ourselves. Instead of taking apart the shelves (which would be quite easy, since they're modular), they removed the floor under the shelves (yes, it really is as silly as it sounds). Of course, several of the shelves were damaged in the process and we had to replace them later. They seemed to be pretty lazy and always took the quickest path to get something done. Our insurance recommended that we would use them to rebuild our house. We asked them for a quote for the work and never heard from them again. They were supposed to work with our insurance's independent adjuster to help estimate the cost of rebuilding, but they never got back to him either. Overall, the impression we got from them is that they will take the quickest, easiest path to be able to tell the insurance company the job is done and get their check. They don't rely on customer satisfaction to get the next job, since it seems that many insurance companies are using them. From what we were able to understand, insurance companies like them because they use the same software used by the insurance companies to determine the amount of money insurance should pay for a particular job. If your insurance company recommends these guys, my advice is to do a quick search on Angies List and find someone else. Insurance companies often have recommendations and preferences, but as we found out during reconstruction, we're completely free to choose whoever we want to do the work.
Description of Work: They demolished the first floor of our house after a pipe burst.

Response from ALLIANCE RESTORATION, INC
Alliance Restoration is proud to be a NEW member of Angie's List and is greatful for consumer reports such as this. In reviewing our records, we are happy to advise that AMICA or any other insurance company, does not retain services on behalf of the homeower or customer. They in turn recommend customers 2-3 contractors and it is up to the customer to retain any one of them or choose one of their own. This particular loss was reported to Alliance by Amica for emergency water mitigation as the homeowner was out of town at the time of the damage. Please note that prior to any work completed on a customer's home, an authorization for repair must be completed or acknowledged by the homeowner/adjuster on behalf of the homeowner. Alliance is a full service general contractor and water restoration company. However, our Redmond branch deals strictly with structural damage and refers any and all water restoration repairs to one of our many subcontractors. In this case, the water restoration and packout of contents was handled by Servicemaster. Our file contained several notes from the Amica adjuster that he had contacted Servicemaster with regards to the homeowners complaints of property damage and improper dryout. Alliance completed a repair estimate for the structural repair of the homeowner's home per Amica's standards and recommendations. The Amica adjuster reviewed our estimate and reached an agreed cost of repair with the assigned project manager and the repairs were completed as outlined. A copy of the repair estimate should have been provided by Amica to the homeowner and discussed. Alliance received payment from Amica for the agreed cost of repairs once the work was completed.

Alliance is the MOST unprofessional company I have ever dealt with for my home. That includes an intire 2nd story removal and rebuild! Don't use this company. Especially if you are a woman! Chauvinists!!!
Description of Work: Alliance is the state farm contractor that was to come and patch the sewage damaged sheet rock. Three places each only 3x4 feet and paint. They do not show when they say they are going to - then arrived on their time unannounced. After the insurance co. sent them out I ask for an additional 110 sq ft of sheet rock to be screwed to the ceiling. This took one month to bid - and not bid for only the service of screwing it to the joist - the bid was 3x's what it should be. The replacement of sheet rock around the shower stall was not wet board - it had to be redone. My dog got out when they left the gate open. They even took over an hour for lunch after being on the job for barely the same amount of time. They arrived on time once out (the sheetrockers) but never announced they were there. I found two men I had met the day before in my home - YUCK. To dry the sheet rock the placed an free standing heater next to the wall with a plastic bag touching it on the sides. After I called the ins. co for the 3rd or 4th time to complain - they showed up with paint - but no primer. the bathroom corners were not finished with either the metal corners or mud. All those 'mishaps' were in less the 5 hours of the last 24 hours I worked with them. There is previous history - but I think this is a clear picture as to why NOT to use them When they don't show they blame it on others that screwed up the scheduling. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. I also felt that because I am a woman they thought they could get away with over charging and poor work. I have been in and around this business for year I know better!

Alliance is proud to be a NEW member of Angie's List and is greatful for constructive consumer reports such as this. The company as a whole was completely mortified to read this particular post by a previous customer and wished that it was brought to management at the time. Alliance takes pride in our customer service and in no way would jeopardize our reputation by the actions of an employee(s). Yearly customer service seminars and sensitivity training is completed by ALL Alliance employees. We deeply regret the negative impact experienced by this customer and ensure that any and all remedies have been made internally to prevent situations such as this.
