The builder's work was featured on a website of the Tri-Cities Home Builders Association. The photos showed a beautiful craftsman style interior. My wife and I like the look, and we appreciated the craftsmanship and attention to detail that was evident. The builder had a home in the Parade of Homes, which was running that weekend. To let him focus all his attention on that key opporunity, I volunttered to take the bid package to his house, which I did. He was to call me, after the weekend of house showing was done. After the weekend, I called him and left a message, asking for a call back, and wanting to establish a time for us to talk. He never called back. Besides being irritating, I was also concerned about what kind of signal this was sending about how responsive he would be later in the process. If you can't them to show some interest when the prospect of money is dangling in front of them, what hope do you have for responsiveness and professionalism when the deal is signed? This was not the only party to take that approach on this job. I was not impressed with the professionalism, and I really wondered about their approach to creating a good feeling on the customer's part. It was a shame that we couldn't connect, as the photos showed wonderful work However, his actions (or lack thereof) spoke volumes to me.
