Tileworks

Description of Work: Okay, I have been holding off on writing a review of this company and its owner for over a year because I have been trying for that long to get him to actually perform the work that I requested. The initial contact with Earl was excellent. He was responsive and professional. He came to the site, reviewed the work to perform, gave me an estimate and ensured me that the work would be performed. It was not. He was given a month long window with 24x7 access to perform the work (redo existing grout throughout and reset any tiles that were flexing causing the grout to break up). He provided an estimate of $700.00 which I thought was extremely inexpensive for what I was asking. My wife and I were in Seattle for a kidney transplant surgery so it was imperative that the work be completed before we returned since cleanliness of the home post-transplant is critical. We returned to find that the work was only partially completed. A few spots where the grout was extremely bad had been redone, but not the entirety as we asked. This also made the grout uneven in color and ugly. There was a note left from Earl indicating he had subcontracted the job and that he knew it was not what we expected. The note requested that I contact him to discuss and schedule the rest of the work. I spoke with Earl and he assured me that he would complete the work and that he would get back to me once he checked his schedule. No return call came. I have spent the last year repeatedly trying to contact Tileworks and Earl specifically. Most of my calls were unanswered. None of my voicemails were returned. The only time I was able to connect was when I used a different phone number. He again assured me that he was going to complete the work. No response to date and again the rest of my calls were unanswered. The only saving part to this is that Tileworks did not bill me for the "service" provided. However, I still have crumbling grout and discoloration. I am currently looking for another company to complete the work since it is clear that Tileworks has no intention to.
