GP&W SYSTEMS,INC.

After purchasing the fireplace inserts and stovetop from NW Natural we contracted with GP&W systems to install them. Kent was punctual in emailing us to set up and appointment. He showed up on time with his assistant, Michael, and did a walkthrough to determine what had to be done. It took about 90 minutes because there were a couple options for running a new gasoline to the stovetop area. The next day we received the estimate and it appeared reasonable so we contracted with them. The job started two days later with their punctual arrival. It took about a day and a half to do the job. They maintained a clean job site and took all the old hardware for recycling. We had to have a stainless steel cover fabricated since the electric stovetop was two inches wider and the hole in the granite top was too large for the gas stovetop. They returned three days later to install this piece. We are totally satisfied and would recommend them highly.

They were awesome. They did more than just what was required, even giving us pieces that we would have needed to hook up the fireplace, which we wanted to do ourselves. Without those pieces it would have taken us hours to figure out.

It was a little pricey, but it was pretty good. Everything went according to plan. They finished on time and he explained everything.

I highly recommend this company. They do excellent high quality work and were careful to clean up after themselves. Dave and Kent are professional, skilled and honest craftsmen. From the detailed bid I received at the start through the thank you for my business letter after completion of the fireplace, I am one satisfied customer.

I originally thought there would be a need to run gas piping. My usual heating company doesn't work in Portland, but recommended this company. They discovered gas pipes to the location and did the work on time. Good service.

It went well. They worked hard to get my installation done at about the same time my new stove arrived. They did a great job installing the fireplace and assembling the decorative parts. They installed my new stove and made sure everything worked.

The work order for the heat exchanger was changed so that much less ducting was used in the revised system which should have reduced the cost of the work. "Extra" items were charged for and the price of the work ended up costing significantly more than was originally bid. The contractor did not account for the distance he would have to drive to get to the job site in his original bids, so he "padded" his charges to cover this mistake.

They were timely and courteous. They set a date to come out and came on that date. They also completed the work in time frame given. I found nothing wrong with their work.
