A 1 Demolition, Hauling & Site Clean Up

I am a contractor and use Tom exclusively for all my demolition needs. He is always doing more than I Is expect and recommend him and his crew highly.

Pros: The hauler showed up, finished loading the truck very efficiently, was friendly, and cleaned up afterwards (swept driveway). Cons: Communication was very poor as to when to expect them, updates etc. Also although I realize that estimates are difficult over the phone, I feel like they took advantage of that vagueness to overcharge me by quite a bit (knowing that I wouldn't say "no" once they are there and ready to haul stuff away...).

Company was a no show. I had a contractor ready to explain the work needed but no one from the company ever showed up, They finally called saying they didn’t have our address, very unlikely. Then said they were trying to expand and grow the business leading to some kind of confusion.

The crew got to work right away and did an incredible job of demoing everything out. They disposed of trash from the attic and basement as well. Sean was great to work with and was responsive to our needs and questions. We wanted the window sills saved but they were mostly all damaged in the demo (those things happen) and a piece of glass was broken on a built in (easily repaired). Overall, the crew and foreman were awesome, extremely hard working and a careful as you can be when gutting an entire house. We would use them again for a similar project or just hauling debris.

I spoke with Gabe last week and he gave me a rough estimate over the phone based on my description of the items I needed hauled away. He scheduled between 12 and 4 today. He asked me to text him photos and a description of the items which I did. Today, the morning of the scheduled service, I texted him to confirm. No response. I called and left a message. No response. I didn't have a good feeling so I called again around 2 pm. The phone rang and rang and didn't even go to voicemail. Needless to say, this company not only did not show up for their scheduled appointment but they didn't even have the courtesy to call to let me know.

A1 kept me informed about appointment time and estimated arrival. They picked up everything that I needed. They were quick and great and easy to work with despite snow on the day of pick up.

Very well, except they were supposed to arrive between 9 and 12 and I had to call to see what happened. Somehow they missed the information. They arrived around 3.

Super nice team. The appointment was easy to set up, they arrived on time, and quickly got everything loaded. I will use again.

It went as good as I had hoped. They were quick, removed the debris from my basement without needing my help, and even hauled off hazardous materials for an additional charge. Will definitely use them again in the future!

once again, we did not hire them, we got a refund. please stop asking me to review a company I didn't hire

They arrived on time, assessed my pile of debris and loaded it up. They explained that for my Angie’s list deal the maximum amount to be hauled away was 500 pounds. That seemed reasonable to me, so they loaded up the heaviest items first and some large barrels and I was left with a small pile of tree limbs that I could easily cut myself and put my yard debris can. They were polite and helpful and we talked about the other services that A1 provides. I will definitely hire them again.

Great! Super professional, on-time and great to work with. Ended up getting charged a bit more for some removal items that didn't end up being a part of the deal (thought it would have been). Would definitely use them again!

They completely missed the appointment on the first try. Rescheduled for another date two weeks out. I requested a reschedule for the following Monday after the second date, no problem. On day of appointment, they called and wanted an extra $150 because I “live outside of their service area” I told them to take a Flyin’ Flip and called Angie’s List. Got a prompt refund. Thanks Angie :-)

Work was quick, efficient, and surprisingly got everything hauled in one load.

They were punctual and professional. Could not have gone better. I would hire them again.

Although they did take away what they could for the price, I was disappointed that they did not offer me any solution to clear away the entire pile. I felt like it was an inconvenience for the help, rushed and they only took the exact amount of weigh for profit. The boards were wet and can understand not wanting to loose money but after they left I burned 3/4 of the remaining pile on my property for free. I wasted my money with this deal. I would not hire again based on attitude and experience.

They were extremely responsive upon first contact, flexibile at scheduling a time for pickup, and courteous. I'd absolutely hire them again for future work.
