We were working under some time restraints but Kelly and his crew were able to get the work done in time for a family event. We were very impressed with Kelly's outstanding professionalism, timeliness, and the way he kept us notified continuously of the job's progress. We enjoyed working with him and won't hesitate to ask him to help us in the future. We highly recommend him.

Overall, the experience was excellent. I would recommend Kelly for his professionalism, punctuality, experience and quality of work. We went with a material from Georgia and the shipping cost was much higher than projected based on the length of the aluminum. To guarantee a waterproof solution, I think it was worth it. Kelly was the only contractor that I received a bid from that had a plan for our difficult chimney and the torch down flashing.

Kelly Fandel was easy to work with and straight forward on the price. We made a couple changes during the course of construction and Kelly was always responsive to our concerns and willing to make changes as we went along. Kelly and his crew were prompt, polite and did a really first-rate, professional job. Kelly gave us straightfiorward advice about materials and options. He was sensitive to our budget and he concerned about keeping us happy throughout the project. I would definitely hire again (and I have hired him again for other projects).

Well if I was limited to one word to describe everything it would be and quot;wowand quot;! Kelly was fantastic to work with. His extensive experience and input was invaluable. He worked very hard to understand what I was looking for and then came up with a design that is not only so beautiful, but very functional. Kelly is extremely meticulous and a perfectionist. His love for what he does shows not only in his work, but with his workers too. I cannot express enough how professional Kelly and his workers were. Just a great bunch of people! It was exciting to come home each day and see the progress. It was so amazing! Every day they arrived on time and every day before they left they would thoroughly clean up and put things away. My vision to begin with was to enhance my westerly view with a new spa. And what surprised me...and still surprises me each day...is not only the view being so beautiful, but I cannot believe how this new deck actually enhances the view and the experience! The TigerDeck wood Kelly recommended is so beautiful! I totally would recommend it. Kelly handpicked each piece of wood and only used wood that passed his inspection. The way the sun lighting changes on the deck throughout the day to the evening is so awesome! It really was a wonderful experience working with Kelly and his workers. I learned so much. Kelly was spot on with the costs associated with the job. The worse thing to happen is for a contractor to come up with surprise costs at the end. He was as meticulous in ensuring I knew the costs as he was with his work....just amazing! If you want the best, then you go to Kelly. For with him there is no second best :)

The new deck is beautiful and very strong structurally. The picture frame with lap over herringbone pattern is well done and adds an extra dimension to the deck. We love the benches, the rail system ~ every detail! The project was on time despite having to deal with replacing siding and window frames and managed within our budget. We recently had a painter on the property and he specifically asked if Kelly Fandel did the deck as he recognized the quality of the workmanship! We were very satisfied with all aspects of the project and would work with Kelly again.

The project was to replace an existing deck at a rental property. Kelly Fandel (the owner of Fandel Construction) met me out at the construction site. The original deck had a rectangular design that spanned the east side of the house. We discussed the job and various options. Kelly proposed an alternative deck design that was more functional than the original (i.e., had a larger usable deck area), and yet required slightly fewer square feet than the original design. About a week later, I received estimates for two proposed designs, the original design and Kelly's proposed alternative. I selected the alternative (more functional) design. Kelly's bid for the alternative design was slightly lower than his bid for the original design. Both bids from Kelly were lower or competitive when compared to bids that I received from other contractors. The deck that Kelly built is much more attractive than the original rectangular deck. All other contractors only considered replacing the original deck, and none had the creativity that Kelly brought to the job! In addition to the overall deck design, Kelly proposed different options for the deck surface (various hardwoods and cedar) and the deck railing (all cedar railing, versus aluminum frame and tempered glass, versus custom cedar frame and tempered glass, versus aluminum frame with cables). Kelly was very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of the different options (for example, the longevity and maintenance of a hardwood deck surface versus a cedar deck surface). I wanted a railing with tempered glass. Not many contractors provide an option for a custom cedar frame and tempered glass. I selected this option and it saved about $1000 versus the option of a railing that used an aluminum frame and tempered glass.

We had Kelly Fandel perform a replacement of our old, original deck and install a new Tigerwood deck. He performed all the measurements, designs and estimates quickly and with professionalism. Throughout the design process, we were constantly in touch, including meeting us at a lumber supply store to go over various decking option pros and cons, as well as cost differences. When it was time for construction, he performed the work quickly and cleanly, and the deck turned out better than we had ever imagined, and he left the worksite super clean as well.

The finished deck is so much better than I even dreamed of. Kelly Fandel listened to what I wanted and suggested the Nexan Lockdry Aluminium product. Oh my, it is so beautiful. His team tore off my old wood creaky deck and built a very stable 760 sq foot Aluminum deck. They were honest, very punctual, clean, always responded right away to my emails and phone calls. We will enjoy BBQ's on this deck for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much Kelly Fandel.

The materials used, as well as the craftsmanship are all top notch. Kelly took our ideas as a starting point and built on them to truly create a work of art that we will be spending many happy hours enjoying. He took the necessary time up front to listen to our ideas and questions. As the work progressed, we asked plenty of additional questions that were always promptly answered ? even after hours through emails. We?ve never encountered a contractor who is such a great communicator - Kelly obviously cares about his customers. During the project there were a few unforeseen details that Kelly carefully attended to. We had some tricky issues with connecting stairways and railings. These issues were approached with a focus on safety for us first and esthetics second. Our expectations were exceeded in both areas. Near the end of the project, we threw Kelly a curve ball with a design change request on the railing. Parts had already been delivered and were in the process of being installed. Some contractors would have rolled their eyes or been frustrated with a last minute change request. Kelly helped us to clarify our request and agreed that it was a good idea. He then worked with the supplier and us on cost and schedule to make sure that we were happy. The jobsite was kept safe and tidy throughout the project. Kelly and his crew were polite and respectful of us, our neighbors and our property. Kelly Fandel of Fandel Construction is an experienced contractor, responsible professional with high integrity, and all around great guy to do business with. We learned of Stylish Outdoor Living, at the Tacoma Home Show and made our selection after receiving proposals from 5 other builders. We based our decision on price, promised quality, the speed with which owner Kelly Fandel grasped what we thought we wanted, and the suggestions/options he provided that makes our deck special. When we started we were certain we wanted a composite or vinyl deck but with Kelly's guidance we decided to use the tropical hard wood called Tiger Wood. It should be as durable as any synthetic and has a natural beauty synthetic materials can't match. Tiger Wood is apparently plentiful and actually helps reduce deforestation by making the forest land too valuable for less environmentally sound development. Kelly arrived each day exactly when he said he would. Once he started he was all business and the deck went up fast. The work area was clean at the end of each work day. I don't know how the workmanship could be better. He was insistent on using Arrow Hardware for all the materials and I now know why; the quality of materials is far better than anything I have seen at other hardware stores; I didn't know that the quality of lumber they provided was still available. We couldn't be happier with our new deck and based on our experience, highly recommend Stylish Outdoor Living.
