+ -1 moreThese occurrences, along with several others, made us wonder how good a job they had done. To the company's credit, their customer service person reacted in horror to our description of what happened; they sent a supervisor to inspect the work; he scheduled another cleaning (at no extra charge), and the subsequent cleaning --which took 2-3 hours, was done meticulously and carefully by a very considerate technician. These two experiences were polar opposites, so the A-F rating scale is a kind of composite. It would be all A's based on the company's response to our complaint, but all F's based on our initial experience.
Description of Work: A technician, with a trainee, came to the house to clean the air ducts. They whizzed through the house in about 30 minutes, asked for a garbage bag, emptied one of their large-size vacuum cleaners into the garbage bag on the front porch, dumping waste in the process, which they cleaned up. After they pulled away from the curb, we discovered that they had dumped --either deliberately or by accident--the contents of another vacuum under the back of their truck. We called the company and complained.

+ -1 moreI had taken pictures with my digital camera prior to them coming out. They came in, said they did the work. I took another picture after they said they did the work and saw that 90% of the insulation was still there. I sent the pictures to the company. The man came out and agreed that I would not have to pay for the work that was done. So they did resolve it because I didn't have to pay for the work.
Description of Work: They cleaned my air ducts because there was insulation in the ducts.

+ -1 morePromptly Brad Ballantyne and Jack (from the office) arrived and took three house to clean the ducts thoroughly, mouse bait under the house as they found traces of mouse nests, cleaned and sanitized everything. What a difference in the AM when your allergies are at work, they solved that. They were friendly, explained everything, and I would definitely use them again and their parent company Alpha Biological as they are also pest control people. It was a good experience. They told me what I needed without pressure and I bought additional service. No real pressure at all just informative.
Description of Work: They cleaned out all of my air ducts in a house with cats/birds and the previous owner had dogs. The ducts had never been cleaned that I know of in over 20 years.

Description of Work: The company inspected the ducts under the house and then cleaned all the ducts, including the cold air returns. The technician placed filters on all the duct registers to catch any remaining dust that may have been dislodged but not cleaned out. He also inspected the furnace.

+ -1 moreExtremely sloppy and not professional. Ryan arrived late (see above) and came with tons of excuses (see above). Brought a cordless driver (and cell phone) with almost-dead batteries. Rushed everything and didn't work thoroughly, but very eager to sell "hi-tech" furnace filters to generate extra revenues. Overall, a very DISAPPOINTING experience. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: Ryan cleaned vents & cold air returns in our two houses. Showed up at 1:30 pm for 11 am & 2 pm appointments. Although he called earlier, I'd scheduled my day around it. He rushed everything & didn't work thoroughly because he still had to clean another house, then move out with his 8-month pregnant wife. I feel sorry for him, but by rushing I don't get my money's worth. He's very defensive. When I asked him to clean the visible dust between furnace & filter, he said he didn't want to be liable. Certainly not professional! When I asked him to clean the dryer vent, he said that's extra ($139) and not necessary. After cleaning one house (about 2:30 pm) he said he felt like he was going to faint. So he went out for lunch. Delay again. He rushed the second house- even sloppier than the first house, skipping vents. He assured me he had cleaned two screwed vents in the bathrooms, but from the position of the screws I know he didn't clean them. Totally disappointing!

+ -1 moreArrived as scheduled and cleaned the vents as stated. However, I thought they cleaned the vent covers as well, but that was not the case. I also read that they cleaned the area surrounding the vents so that the area was clean just like the vents, but that too was not the case. I was left to clean that area and the vents myself. Regardless of these oversights, I needed it done and they were in and out. Very pleasant and professional. Provided me with good information about my furnace and vents.
Description of Work: Provided duct cleaning for my new house. Many of my vents were in the floor and in the ceiling in the basement. They used a vacuum with a brush attached and brushed the vents down to the furnace.

+ -1 moreExcellent experience. Micah is obviously very skilled and experienced. He made us feel at ease, was totally unobtrusive (despite the loud equipment) and did the work as described. We felt confident enough to hire him back to do additional work. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Our 1989 house had never had the ducts cleaned. Previous owners were heavy smokers. Micah Wood performed the work as described. He was thorough and explained everything he was doing. We've had a foul smell coming from a room on the far end of the house. He discovered mouse droppings in the air vent and explained that we likely had a bigger problem with nesting mice eating through the insulation and air duct. We scheduled him to come back and do extermination work.

+ -1 moreI'm sorry I don't remember the name of the gentleman who did the work, because he did a great job. He arrived at 3:30, and stayed until 8:45 pm to finish the job. He commented that for a house of a similar size he'd done earlier in the day it had taken only two hours, and our job was over 5 hours. He also took the time to show us what was currently in the ducts, and pointed out an error that our furnace company had made when they reconfigured the ducts for gas. I thought it was a great value.
Description of Work: We had the ducts cleaned in a 1910 house. The duct work covers about 2000 square feet of the house. The house at one time had an oil furnace, and we converted it to a gas furnace about a year ago. Apparently the ducts may have never been cleaned prior to this job, and there was dirt and lint filling about 2/3 of the overall duct space.

+ -1 moreOverall, I was disappointed. Technician did not make scheduled appointment time but did call. Air duct cleaning went by quickly. Tech was friendly. He could not clean two vents, they were too small. I was told they do not inspect duct work in crawl spaces if there are no problems encountered during cleaning, although this is listed as part of the service in printed material. After the tech left I was not satisfied since I could still see visible dirt, so called the company. Customer service did not return phone calls until I contacted the supervisor a week later. They agreed to come back out and the technician was able to do a slightly better job. Dryer vent took less than 10 min. to clean, which did NOT seem worth it for the price. I felt the telephone representative gave me inaccurate information specifically related to dryer vent cleaning. If I had known what was going to really happen with the dryer vent cleaning, I would have gone elsewhere.
Description of Work: Air ducts and cold air return were cleaned using a portable vacuum with attached brush for $238. Dryer vent was partially cleaned (technician reported he was unable to clean all of the vent due to a sharp angle) for $119.

+ -1 moreThe technician was very knowledgeable, instructing my husband on several do-it yourself maintence issues we hadn't considered. He also noticed that our forced air thermostat was not working and let us know about that. We were set to do a cleaning on a Saturday but their machine had broken down and they had to reschedule for the following week. Once that day arrived, the Proven Air guy was actually early but as he saw other maintence workers at our house, they also came up and asked if he could start, which was just fine with us. Our technician was extremely friendly and funny and helpful. Later, after doing some cleaning myself the following day, I did notice there was some accumulation of dirt and dust on the floors after our service. Overall, we had a great experience and would use them again with no hesitation.
Description of Work: We had a guy come out and clean 10 vents in our house, the return air and the furnace. He took almost 2 hours, starting with a shop vac to suck out all the debris out of the vents, then they came back with another machine that cleaned further into the ducts and worked on cleaning the whole ventilation system. He also used the second machine on the furnace itself.

Matt then tried to sell us rodent service and Aero Seal duct sealing. I was a little surprised. This detracts a little bit from my grade for professionalism.
Description of Work: We selected Proven Air based on Angies List and newspaper ads. We hired them to clean ductwork, first time in 15 years, for a 2500 sf house. Two stories, 12 supply vents and two returns. Service provided on Jan 12, 2006.

Price for the anti-bacterial spray was also $149, which seemed high compared with all the work required for the vacuuming. The job took about 2 hours total.
