VANCOUVER WOODWORKS

OK--we'd ordered a buffet thru Amazon (Furniture Creations) and had to reject it twice because the top surface was marred wen it was delivered (we waited for two deliveries--3 hour window) So we decided to go local. When we got to Vancouver Woodworks, Bruce showed us several samples. He really figured out quickly what we wanted and showed us a catalog, then showed us what the wood would look like based on the type of wood we wanted. We ordered it on the spot. He said it would be in within three weeks. In just over 2 weeks, he called to schedule delivery (on a Saturday!!!). He said they would be there at noon (no time range--they would be there at noon). They showed up just before noon, let me know they were then, then, outside on a pad, unboxed the buffet, attached the legs, made sure all the joints were tight, dusted it, and carried it in. They were out of there by 12:15 and I had the rest of my day. If I need other furniture, I can tell you that I will look there first. It was sssooo much easier than ordering from Amazon, waiting around for delivery, and then getting something that was dented. I guess that buy local works for furniture, too.

Vancouver Woodworks added an extra support and fixed the damaged finish for no charge, close to 20 years after we purchased the set. Amazing customer service.

My husband and I were looking for a very specific sized table to go into our dining room along our bank of bay windows. We also needed it to provide additional light to the space. We bought our dining room set from these folks several years ago, and were very, very pleased with both the buying experience and the quality of the product. So we thought we would try them out again in our odd little quest. We worked with a very polite young man who was a sales trainee named Matthew, and the co-owner of the business, a woman named Kate. Both of them were very helpful, incredibly easy to work with, described our options, came up with suggestions, and made the buying experience a real pleasure. I didn't realize until after the sale that this is a family owned business, who really cared about whether we were happy with our purchase. I felt like they were taking the time and care that they would if they were furnishing their own home, and it was a really positive experience. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. We have been talking about replacing our 30 year old bedroom set with a four poster bedroom set next year, and these folks will definitely get our business. So if you are looking for a high quality, locally owned store, with owners that really care about what is in your home, I don't think you can wrong with these guys.

I only called once to check on the status of the furniture and Bruce promptly called back letting us know that everything was on schedule. We also wanted to use matching hardware and so Bruce worked with us to select a very close match. The furniture arrived on schedule and was sent directly to the local store that stained our furniture. Old Friends was the store that stained our furniture and delivered it to our house. We were so impressed with the quality of the wood and workmanship. The stain was a great match as well. We plan to order more furniture in the future as our household expands. We also bought some artwork that was displayed at Vancouver Woodworks that fits beautifully in our home. We were very pleased with Vancouver Woodwork's professionalism and courtesy they showed to us as clients.
