Description of Work: I had contracted with this hanyman service through Angie's List, paid the fee, and talked with the handyman. However, the man's truck broke down and he wasn't able to keep the appointment. I had to hire elsewhere. Thus - I really can't rate the service as it was never performed. Moreover, getting a refund was not simple.

Description of Work: The provider was offering a special through Angie's List and over a month he was called 4 times. I left a detailed voicemail and he never returned my calls.

Description of Work: He saw that the handrail fix I was asking for is something he had not done before. He acknowledge that and gave me the option for him to do it (and learn on it) or hand it over to a different contractor.

Description of Work: Tops Handyman is just as the name implies, Ed was on time, effecient, and did all the work I asked for in the 4hr time frame. Ed first came to my house (Longview, WA) to discuss the work to be done, he came up with great idea's and the work turned out better then I could have immagined. He put up ceiling molding in two rooms and put up a wood design on my ceiling in another room. I would recommend Ed to anyone and I would certainly call on him again!

He worked very quickly and was able to do more work for me than I had expected. He was very professional and easy to work with. We will hire him in the future for more work around our place. I would recommend him highly.
Description of Work: Kenneth moved and set up bedroom furniture from upstairs to downstairs...He cleaned our gutters and did some outdoor yard work.

He found the valve box, I had no idea where it was because I have not lived at the house very long and I don't know anything about sprinkler systems. I actually spent many hours looking for it but could not locate it. Ed found it right away, there was a loose wire that he fixed and now the whole system is working again. He fixed up the sprinkler system so quickly that I then had him secure my aviary as it had become unstable in the last wind storm. All in all a very good experience. I have recommended him to friends in the area.
Description of Work: My sprinkler system in the back yard stopped working. He fixed it and re-adjusted the heads in the rest of the yard.

Description of Work: Started yard work...there is lots more to do. He worked hard the four hours he was contracted to work. Weeding, mowing and edging. The yard was very neglected and needed lots of cleaning up. He did a very nice job getting it looking good.

+ -1 more.Ed arrived a couple minutes early. It was a very hot day, but he worked quickly and did a super job, barely stopping to drink water. He made sure I was happy with his work and that I got the time I had paid for. Very friendly, willing to do whatever I asked. I will definitely call him again when I need things done.
Description of Work: Ed cut down 4 overgrown shrubs and trimmed back several overgrown rhodies as well as cleared out the dead wood inside them. He also hauled away a trailer load of the largest debris.

+ -1 moreEd is a very hard worker... honest and fair in price I feel. He is sometimes not as quick to be able to do the work as I would like- but as I am flexible most often.. no problem. I never worry he will not get the job done.. and is always positive and quick to fix any issues if they arise. My pond filter had an issue after a couple years.. he fixed it PDQ and knew just what to do. I would and have recommended him for a landscape, handyman person.
Description of Work: Ed has done lawn and sprinkler / pond repair replacement work for me for years. Just finished spreading fresh bark dust.. much better price for the bark he picked up and better quality too. No job is too small for him and I appreciate his honesty- if beyond his scope. He has replaced and re- built my large water feature / pond... and keeps it running perfect. No leaks, no problems.

+ -1 moreHe's very reliable for mowing and edging and stuff like that. He does a lot of the backflows because he's licensed to do that. He's very good at that. He works out of deal, so we use him for other stuff. You need to call him on his cellphone, you can't call him the day and inspect him to come out because he likes to put a schedule so he makes sure he takes care of everybody, so we always let him know maybe a week in advance if we want a project done at a certain time but as long as you let him know, he'll work with you. He's really good about that. He understands what customers want. His price is very fair, follows through and very honest and that's another factor that I like about him. If somethings happened or an emergency came or something, he'll let you know.
Description of Work: We used Tops Handyman Service to put down flagstone for the backyard. We also use him for yard work.

+ 3 moreI had 4 quotes - TOPS was fast to respond (next day) I selected them because of the professionalism and cost. For 2 years (since we purchased our property) we have hired contractors to do work on a very nice but unkept home. I will never use anyone else now that I have had the experience of working with TOPS. On Time, Above and Beyond Quality, came back 2nd day to check on our satisfaction, friendly and organized. I honestly was surprised and so pleased to finally have an experience where we were utterly satisfied. Highly recommend! Also - this is the first time we used Angies list....maybe there is a correlation!! Thanks Angie!

He provided more services such a weed prevention mesh at the best bid price of all contractors bidding on the work. He completed the work in a timely manner and performed follow-up to ensure our satisfaction with the work. He is a US Military Veteran and takes great pride in doing the job right and to the satisfaction of his customers. I would highly recommend his work.
