Top Notch Carpet Cleaning

Ever move a piece of furniture, in my case stereo speakers andsee carpet for what it was when new. James has recaptured that glow for me. Actually, I think he did a b etter job than he has done in all the years, 5/6 he has worked here.

Second time using Top Notch. Both times, he arrived promptly, worked quickly and efficiently, and finished on-time and under budget. Great experience again!

After looking at several of the top rated carpet cleaners on Angies List, I decided to use James at Top Notch because of the positive comments by other users. James also offered a significant discount for an empty house of 15 cents SF. This is by far the most competitive rate I found. James arrived about 10 minutes early, and despite having noticed he had a flat tire upon arrival, got right to work. He was very fast and efficient. He called AAA to come tow his van and left with a smile on his face and said he was glad he was able to get the job completed regardless of his flat tire. :-) Thank you James! My carpets look great.

James came as scheduled, set up quickly, and cleaned the badly soiled carpet. He did an excellent job, and he was very respectful, professional, and competent. The tenant in my upstairs apartment was very pleased.

I called James after seeing the glowing reports on Angie's List. I left a voice mail and he called back within an hour and scheduled a time to come clean the carpet in an upstairs bedroom as well as the stairs. It was new in 1995 but had never been cleaned. Didn't have spots, etc so just wanted an over all cleaning. He came equipped to do the job and even cleaned a runner in the hall at no charge. However, as the carpet was drying...it started tunneling...YIKES... and the texture seemed "crispy" to me. I was panicked! I went to sleep that night sorry that I'd gotten the carpet cleaned...because this was my worst fear. I woke up the next morning and low and behold...the carpet was flat. Whew! was I relieved. However, after the carpet dried, it was clear that that it was crispier than ever... like a washcloth that you don't get the soap out of and then hang it to dry. There were also some coffee colored spots in places that had not been before. Once again...panicked. I looked on the internet and found that all of the above was indeed due to cleaner left in the carpet. And to be fair...this is a really, really, plush, thick carpet. I called James and said I was worried and explained the crispy carpet and spots. He said exactly what I'd found out...that he hadn't gotten the pre-treatment out of the carpet. He came back and only rinsed the carpet (no charge of course) and when it dried...it was beautiful. He also has a new wand that really pulls out the moisture. This super dense carpet was totally dry in 3 hours! He's the best. Unfortunately I have mostly hardwood so won't be calling for awhile.

He was very quick to answer my call, easily changed the date when I had a conflict, came on time (even early). I changed my mind about wanting the downstairs hallway cleaned, where there had been construction, and he was very willing to change that as long as he could get his hoses there, which he could. He did a very thorough job, using less liquid in the basement where there's a concrete floor. Good about putting pads and blocks under furniture, telling me to move them a bit after the carpet was dry so there were not wet spots under the feet. The sofa looks amazing, and no stains anywhere on the carpet. He even warned me about possible carpet wrinkling (it's old) and was concerned whether the ammonia in the sofa cleaner would affect my husband's health (he has asthma). Overall, a great experience! My one complaint is that he talked quite a while on the phone (I assume business calls), which lengthened out process a bit. I'd sure use him again, though!

I was very pleased with the carpet cleaning and Jim was very flexible with my requests - at the last moment I asked him to do some dining room chairs and area rugs and his added costs were very reasonable. The carpets turned out great and I would definitely recommend this company.

He was punctual, professional, quick in scheduling, and charged me less because the carpet wasn't very dirty. I would definitely use his services again.

Availability was great, very professional and cleaned up some spots that I didn't think were possible, but you can hardly see them now. Very much cares about customer service!!! Can't go wrong with the company's service.

Upon finish volunteered there might be streaks for which he would return to correct free of charge. He did and the streaks are gone! Excellent!

Very well. The work was done on time. Everything was well organized and looked great when completed. Expressed eagerness to return if we had any problems with the work - which we don't.

I call James on wednesday, and he was able to clean the carpets in one of my rental properties thursday morning. He did an excelent job at a great price! Very professional and friendly! I will be using Top-notch for all my rental properties from now on!

This is the second time we have had James clean our carpets. By far he does such a better cleaning job than so many of the other brand name cleaning companies we have used in the past. He was here for 2 hours and took special care in each room, doing a very thorough job. He doesn't just breeze in and breeze out like some of the other companies. He is so polite and professional. And he is on time, and answers all of my questions. My husband had spilled barbecue sauce on the family room carpet and on a recliner while going out to the grill on the deck last summer. I tried my best to get it out, but James removed ALL of it. What I really like is the carpets no longer cause my allergies to act up especially with two dogs. I would highly recommend him to anyone who would like their carpeting and upholstery cleaned. His prices are reasonable and I liked his attitude, and professionalism.

James was able to schedule the cleaning of our basement family room for the next week. He did a wonderful job -- thoroughly and efficiently. He shared good info about our specific carpeting. His price was extremely reasonable, and he was very personable and pleasant. Great experience!

James called me to let me know he was running about an hour behind. Since the house was empty it wasn't a problem but he was very apologetic about being late. He got right to work and cleaned all the carpets in a 2-story, 2800 sq. ft. house plus a carpeted stairway that was heavily stained. I was amazed at how great the stairs looked after they were cleaned - I thought I would have to replace that carpet but it looked great. James is a very congenial young man who works hard and has earned an excellent reputation on Angie's List. I will definitely call him for future work and won't waste my time getting bids from other companies.

James was very pleasant when he answered the phone, gave us a telephone estimate and we scheduled a time for the carpets to be cleaned. He arrived at the exact time we had scheduled. He was very cheerful and upbeat, but he did not waste a lot of time with chit-chat. He got right to work and did a great job. He worked carefully and was quite diligent. When he was finished he left everything in great condition. When I had to call him back to clean up a reappearing spot he was cheerful and very co-operative. He came back promptly and did a fantastic job removing what had reappeared, plus some. He was great.

He even went to the extent to explain his schedule, we scheduled a specific time and date when he would be back from vacation. He showed up promptly, was very professional. He was obviously experienced. He did a walkthrough of the house, said that it wasn't going to cost as much as he had originally thought. The area that needed cleaned wasn't as large as he thought when I was describing the rooms over the telephone. The carpets looked like new. I was blown away by how clean they were. He started with spot cleaning, then went back through with safe chemicals to clean. No odor was left. The new owners were very pleased with the looks of the carpet. I was also shocked at how inexpensive he was.

We were very satisfied with the work done. Because of scheduling conflicts on our part, we had to cancel and reschedule twice. James was very flexible and understanding. We used James' services last year also, and will use him again in the future.

We searched Angie's List for Carpet Cleaning Companies. Given the size of our home with various floor surfaces, the prices on estimates ranged from $325.00 - $450.00 to off the charts nearing $800.00. James the owner/operator of Top Notch Carpet Cleaning quoted an over-the-phone price of $325.00 for 3.5 hours work and stated that if the job took less time he would lower that amount accordingly. On Tuesday, September 8, 2009, as a professional courtesy, James contacted me 30 minutes ahead of time to let me know he was on the way. James arrived, assessed the interior and began working. While James was working I went for a walk and took a few digital photos while listening to NPR and Portland's AM620 KPOJ Progressive Talk Radio. When I returned, James was hard at work and I offered him a cold Coke Zero as a refreshment. James took a short break, we made small talk and I discovered this young man is getting married next week - 100 years of happiness. Nearing the completion of the job, James came to me and said the work did not take as long as previously estimated and lowered the price $75.00 to $250.00. James is a genuine human being and a man of honor and justice; I highly recommend Top Notch Carpet Cleaning.
