Disclaimer: I have dealt with a lot of flaky contractors so I have a low tolerance for people that do not do what they say, or I that find unprofessional. When an expectation is set, I believe they should be met, and if that isn't possible, communication is key. That said, here is my detailed review of Sunrise Gutters. During the process of getting bids to replace a rusted section of gutter on my 18-year-old home, Sunrise Gutters was recommended. After a series of odd experiences with other contractors, and bids that were all over the place, I was pleasantly surprised when I called Sunrise and someone actually answered the phone. No voicemail! Yay! Cindy was on the other end, she was nice, friendly and promptly set up an appointment day and window of time, estimating a 2-hour arrival time. She stated she would call before coming to narrow down the time. She did. Everything Cindy said she would do/would happen, happened. I was impressed. This might seem simple, but sadly I can't count the number of contractors that do not keep their original expectations, and it's fantastic when they do, you can actually plan your day and stay on track. During the estimate, Cindy arrived on time, gave me logical answers to questions I had about the repair options (other people that bid the job just confused the matter with their "run around" answers) and she provided an on the spot estimate. I had asked other contractors about JUST replacing the rusted gutter and was given estimates for that, but told it was not the best option. Cindy was straight-forward with me and explained that there was a minimum charge and that minimum fee would cover doing the job as she recommended, so either way, I would pay the same. Might as well do it right. We qualified for a senior discount, and she applied it to the estimate without me having to ask for it, which was nice. Her bid was, again, straightforward and the pricing was the best we had received yet. In fact, one contractor wobbled on his estimate so much that I got estimates that ranged from $350 to $800, and could never figure out (and he couldn't or wouldn't explain why the huge price difference) I asked her to look to see if there were any other areas needing attention so we could just get it all done at once, and she did, saying everything looked fine. No upselling. She noticed one of my downspouts had slipped a bit and said she would have the guys nail that back up into place. Might have only taken them a minute, but I appreciated the fact that while it had nothing to do with the repair work we were having done, she had them take care of it and it helps improve the overall aesthetics. I asked her to go ahead and put me on the schedule, which was running approx 2 weeks out, and she said she would call me about 9 am the next morning with a date. My phone rang at 9:02 am. It was Cindy with my date. Again, a simple thing, but in my experience rare for the contractors to do what they say. I was told the crew would call that morning to tell me an arrival window after they route themselves for the day. I was also told I would NOT have to be here if we had other plans, that the guys would know what to do and they would complete the work and send me an invoice. I was glad that I didn't have to adjust any potential plans and that they were trusting enough to complete the work and bill me. I was 100% satisfied and actually thrilled up to this point and happy to finally get this repair scheduled and behind us. On the day the repair was scheduled, I got a voicemail from a call that came in before 8am (my phone was still charging in another room) and the man from the repair crew stated in the voicemail that they were going to do my job first, but since I didn't answer they were going to head to another job then head over to my place. This didn't make sense since I was told I didn't have to be home, but it wasn't a big deal so I waited. I didn't hear anything by afternoon so I texted, explained I was home and an ETA would be helpful, so if they would let me know when they were on the way. Nothing. Finally at 4:30 pm I called and asked if they were still coming. The guy replied that the other jobs were larger than they were led to believe and took all day to complete, so they would "catch me on Monday" This was frustrating for me since the expectation was set that I would not need to be here, so even if I didn't answer in the AM, they could have still come out and done the work, and at the very LEAST, they should have called to tell me they were not coming as scheduled. I had to call after they were obviously done for the day to find out they were not going to show up. At the end of the day, it really made no difference, it wasn't as if water was flooding into my home, or we didn't have heat, but I found the lack of communication unprofessional and left me feeling leery. Had they called me and explained, I would have likely felt a little frustrated, but overall I realize "things happen" On Monday, I got a call that it was really cold and the roof was frosty so they would be waiting until the afternoon to come do the job. This was fine. However, at about 3pm I began to wonder if they were going to show. There was no update to this point. Finally, they arrived and when I walked outside to meet up with the workman, he asked "What are we doing here? I see the rusted gutter, are we replacing and adding a downspout?" I was shocked that he didn't seem to know what the job even entailed. Then a voice from the truck (someone I never did see) yelled out what they were actually supposed to be doing (apparently looking at the work order) I felt at this point I needed to explain everything to him so I felt confident that the work would be done right and the slope would be adjusted, etc. I also pointed out the section they were going to nail up (his response was "oh, that's what that meant") Then he said "Ok, I know what we're doing now, we'll get it taken care of. I let him know I was right inside, just knock if they needed anything. I assumed they wouldn't "need anything", but would at least know I wasn't going anywhere and they would let me know when they finished and show me the work, etc. I heard the banging and that the work was being done, but at some point, my son tells me that they were leaving... I thought he meant they were packing up the truck, but no, they actually just left. I didn't know if they were done, or if they needed supplies and would be back. I was dumbfounded that they wouldn't even knock on the door and let me know the work was complete and see if I had any questions, or show me the completed job. I understand if I was not home, but they clearly knew I was inside. I went out to look and it appeared it was all complete. That said, and the knowledge I know nothing about gutters or how you gauge the slope, etc, I can only say that the Gutters look great, it was not a large section that was replaced but Cindy picked a color that closely matched our current gutters, and although the new ones are not yet painted, you can't really tell unless you look really closely. The downspout was nailed up as promised and it appears the guys did a good job installing them. We have not had a strong rain yet for me to check to see if the water is getting redirected to the other downspout, which was the goal, but I feel as if there is an issue Cindy will make sure take care of it. Although I have no idea what her actual role is (Owner, estimates, jack of all trades?) she seems to have handled everything with kindness and professionalism. So, bottom line, overall (with assumptions, but no actual proof, the gutters are sloped properly) I am happy with Sunrise Gutters. I feel they need to improve in the area of communication with the crew to the customer. Also, improvement in assurance from the crew that they are aware what they are there to do and to check with the customer when the work is complete to see if they have questions or are happy with the work. It almost feels like 2 separate companies, if that makes sense. The level of service and professionalism from first contact and estimate then the "whatever" attitude of actual workers performing the job. Even when I got my invoice in the mail, they forgot to apply the senior discount, so one phone call fixed that problem, I paid and promptly received my receipt in the mail, but again, I was dealing with Cindy. If Cindy isn't the owner, make sure you guys hang onto her! My job was a small one, but had it not been for her, you might not have gotten my business. Had it not been for her, you might not get it in the future!

Punctual and professional, however the competition beat their pricing by $1,000 for the identical work. Definitely not competitive pricing.

As a business owner myself, I understand the importance of customer service and satisfaction! Sunrise Gutter service is stellar in all aspects of business; they are professional, show up on time when scheduled, and follow through with the smallest details long after the work as been completed! In our situation, construction was delayed, and Sunrise did not even hesitate to comeback to make sure the job was perfect!! The office manager, Cindy, is a the sweetest woman to work with! She gets right back to you and WOW does she know her stuff! Thank you for making this a stress free company to work with. We will definitely refer you!

They are a pretty big outfit around here. It went alright. Overall, they did a good job. The staff was okay. I only talked to them a couple of times. I probably will not use them again. With regard to price, they are high. They weren't the cheapest for sure. On my job, they actually showed up with the wrong truck. We had it scheduled for Tuesday. They showed up on Tuesday, and said that they got the wrong truck and that they were going to have to come back the next week. So they had to schedule it out for a week out. Something got mixed up.
Description of Work: I used Sunrise Gutters. Both the end caps in the gutters leak; I haven't called them yet.

There were problems with dripping so we had them come back out. Instead of coming up with a permanent solution, they just cleaned them out and added some filters on the corners. The problem was not solved and for the amount we paid them, it was a terrible job.

She was prompt in coming out. She left her estimate at the door, as I was not home. She suggested new fascia, as she said I had no flashing for my gutters. I just had a new roof put on and I'm sure I have flashing. She uses steel for the gutters, I don't feel terribly comfortable with that.

Called for an estimate. They came out that day although they said they would probably not be able to get out until the following day. Estimate was given. Called to arrange for gutters to be replaced. They helped me with color choice and by leading me to their website where I could see general colors and then added commentary giving me a common color reference. They were unable to come on the original installation day due to supplier not getting them their supplies. Called to let me know early in the day. We rescheduled. They were out the next day. They quickly and efficiently did the installation, cleaned up well afterwards. Gutters look great.

I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE AT THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER. THEY TOLD ME SOMEONE WOULD BE OUT THE FIRST WEEK IN NOV. TO DO THE WORK. NEVER HEARD FROM ANYONE SO I CALLED. CINDY RETURNED MY CALL AND SAID THEY CAME OUT TO DO THE WORK THE LAST WEEK IN OCTOBER AND COULDN'T DO THE WORK FOR THE PRICE ORIGINALLY QUOTED BY G.C.O.O SHE SAID IT WOULD BE A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT MORE. SHE DIDN'T HAVE MY PHONE NUMBER TO CONTACT ME SO SHE CALLED G.C.O.O. TO GET IT. SHE SAYS NO ONE EVER CALLED HER BACK SO SHE TOSSED OUR INFO! VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! SHE SAID IT WOULDN'T BE TILL NEXT WEEK THAT SOMEONE COULD COME OUT AND RE-BID AFTER ALREADY WAITING A MONTH FOR INSTALLATION! SHE HAD TO ASK ALL MY INFO AGAIN SINCE SHE TOSSED IT! VERY UN-PROFESSIONAL. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
