Paul came out and gave us a very reasonable bid, half of the bid we received from another ANGI contractor. He was always very commutative and when he said a time line he met it. The work he and his sons did was impressive to say the least. This deck will last 50 years no problem , solid as a rock. I would recommend this contractor to family and friends and will be using them again for sure

Paul was amazing to work with, as was his son. In Phase 1, they tore down the fence and deck, took the debris away, and built a clean, well-constructed fence in very little time and left everything absolutely clean. A few months later we had a pergola installed by another company. Paul had previously given us an estimate for a deck to fit the pergola that we felt very reasonable and he stayed within that estimate for the final construction. On the day they arrived on-site, we added an additional component not in the original bid and he immediately said he could do it, and charged an extremely reasonable price for the additional work. The actual deck is extremely well designed and well-crafted - very professional, and blends beautifully with our old craftsman-style home. He and his son were hard, expert workers. I've had other contractors that stood around or took long lunches. In comparison, Paul and his son worked through a hailstorm and cold weather. They accomplished the whole deck in three days from start to finish, and left the site completely clean when they left. We really can't recommend Paul enough. They were professional, courteous, excellent workers. Their work was very solid and well-done. We would hope to hire them again for any construction we had in mind.

Paul did a great job building us a beautiful new deck. We opted for ipe wood, which is long lasting but very hard to work with. Other installers were bidding very high for that reason, but Paul was able to source sustainable ipe for us and get it done for a reasonable price. He showed up on time and got it done in the time prescribed. When we later found an issue with the initial design Paul came out and fixed it free of charge. That's integrity.

The job was excellent! They were punctual, fast, friendly, very knowledgeable and professional. The price was fair and came in under their estimate. Some of the work was 30 feet in the air but they knew what they were doing. Great people, great company.

Paul will design & build you a nice deck and he is very responsive to questions. One caveat: Sokol would have gotten all "A"s but dropped down due to an error on the screws. IPE requires stainless but instead epoxy coated steel were installed. The screw style was also incorrect for IPE. Composite deck screws were installed instead of trim-head. I deferred to the fastener manufacturer recommendation because I had to act according to the expected life of the deck. Paul's crew replaced all the screws (I supplied), but due to the screw size I had to go to #10 flat head. I still like the decks but the screws are really visible (it does not bother me as much now that time has passed.) The crew cleaned up on the last day but left job daily with tools laying where they stopped. I did find some old cement footers in my neighbor's yard 6 months after the job & I removed and put under my deck. If I hired again, I would not only ask what screws but ask for a sample of how the correct screws will look in the deck itself.

Excellent. Removed old deck and replaced with all new construction, using new Trex provided under warranty. In addition, patched (for extra $) rotted siding under old deck plate and painted prior to new installation. Watched at each stringer was checked for level and each was planned to fit. Also, each deck plank was predrilled and fasteners spaced equally across the deck surface. New deck is very strong and is apparent attention was paid to details, ie edge wrapping Trex was miter cut on corners instead of just butt joints..

Summer of 2017 we asked Paul to install a new composite deck replacing a cedar deck of about 18 years old. This project was priced correctly and the work we excellent. On that basis I decided to ask Paul to help me design a new trellis for the deck, price it and build it. This project was completed today 3-14-2018. All cedar and craftsmanship quality. Good price and done just the way I wanted it. I have been very pleased with this company's performance and would recommend their services.

Paul is amazing! My wife and I couldn't be happier with the work he did. Exactly what we wanted and we are very picky people. Great communication, always on time, a fare price and the work was done earlier than expected. I would not hesitate to use him again and highly recommend him.

We received the bid in June and it was significantly lower priced than other companies but we trusted the Angie's List reviews and are very pleased. We had to wait until end of August for it to be installed. Because of his low prices he is extremely busy. This showed up in the fact we had to wait so long and also he did not write up a bid or present a contract. He simply gave prices for deck, composite upgrade cost, and railing cost. He had his crew do the work and he came every day to inspect. The crew was great! There is no question about the quality of their work but his busy-ness shows up in not having so much time to get really specific about all the details that they would do. The gap for getting on and off the deck was made longer than we wanted because we just didn't spend enough time discussing our needs before it was done. However, we had some leftover railing in what he had bought for our project and he immediately put additional railing in to fix this. We are thrilled with our deck and would definitely go with them if we need anything done in the future.

We are very pleased with every facet of the project, beginning with a request for proposal to the finished project. Paul and his crew did an outstanding job in building the deck for our purchased gazebo kit. This was a Yardistry kit from Costco. Paul had previously assembled this kit so we included the assembly and install of the gazebo after he completed the cedar deck. He also did an outstanding job of installing a railing around the deck. We highly recommend Sokol Construction for any job he may be willing take.

Result exceeded expectations. Paul Sokolov is a skilled craftsman who is patient and a pleasure to work with. He and assistant Roman are hard workers, very professional, from helping plan, to ordering materials, to building solid and nice-looking deck and fence. HIs bid was not as detailed as others, but he is clearly organized and knows his trade. When we saw he was installing a longer bench than we had discussed, he immediately changed course to correct the size. All this for a reasonable price. We highly recommend!

We got 3 bids for a cedar deck with aluminum railings on three sides of our home. Sokol Construction was so far below the other two that we were skeptical but decided to give them a try. I was impressed with their punctuality and their desire to keep us fully in the loop on the progress. We are very pleased with the results, both appearance and construction. I would definitely recommend Sokol Construction to anyone.

Solicited 5 bids for the work. We chose Paul and Sokol Construction based on the cost, his proposal, and reviews on Angie's List. Couldn't be happier with the new cedar decks. Paul was the low bid. He and his crew were fast, efficient, and flexible. They replaced all 3 decks in one week. I wanted to put this work on a Visa card, and while Paul doesn't accept Visa, he suggested I could use the Visa to buy the framing and lumber, which I did. The new decks look fantastic! Would highly recommend Paul and Sokol Construction.

Paul and his crew removed a ground level deck, and replaced it from the ground up with composite decking in three days. Looks great and great service!
