+ 0 moreWe sent a message through Angie's List that we would like to get a quote for insulating our attic and floors. Their name was on the Clark County Public Utilities list of recommended contractors. They responded "I'm sorry we are not able to meet your needs at this time please give JB Insulation a call at 503-625-9700." Apparently they are not accepting any new work at this time, or maybe they are out of business. I already have 2 other companies to contact, and JB Insulation is not on my list.
Description of Work: Nothing - we would have liked for them to insulate our house!

We were trying to determine where the issue was and this audit helped narrow that down. The provider was very informative on what the issues were and provided us a quote on the costs to get these items updated. They were very punctual, professional and personable.

Description of Work: As advertised! Ben, a building analyst climbed up into our attic and inspected and measured the existing insulation. They also checked integrity of the ridge vents and baffles. A few days later he sent the results via email including infrared photos of all areas in the attic showing hot/cold spots. Also included was a detailed report of deficiencies and associated costs. Ben was knowledgeable and the reports he generated thorough.

They wanted to plug up some holes and light that were coming from the ceiling and I wanted to make sure with the electrician that wouldn’t cause a problem. It seemed to be a very thorough evaluation. He was courteous and the feedback was fairly thorough. I emailed them with some questions but they did not get back to me.

They performed a 3-hour comprehensive evaluation of the insulation requirements of our 1969 ranch house, including using a thermal camera to "look" at the insulation in the walls. They patiently answered all of our questions in detail. They sold us exactly what was needed to fully insulate our home - not more or less - and for a reasonable price. Their customer service is outstanding. After completing the work, they left our property neat and tidy. We are super happy with the results! Now, our crawlspace is so pretty that we could have a party down there. I whole-heartedly recommend Revival Energy.
Description of Work: 1. Attic ventilation w/exhaust fan venting. Labor & materials to provide more upper roof ventilation, install matching lower ventilation with baffling, 3 exhaust fan roof jacks with proper duct installation, seal & insulate the ducting, seal fan to exhaust point, vent kitchen range to code. 2. Attic air sealing. Labor & materials to air seal attic floor using fireproof foam, caulk, recessed can light air seal covers, rigid foam on top of all walls, in all electrical and plumbing penetrations, around openings in wall chase from up in attic, blower door test out to validate improvement. 3. Crawlspace vapor barrier. Labor & materials to replace 1120 sq ft of 15-ml white plastic moisture/vapor barrier on exposed dirt. 4. Crawlspace air sealing. Labor & materials to air seal crawlspace ceiling using fireproof foam, calk, rigid foam below tub, in all electrical & plumbing penetrations, around any openings in wall chase from up in crawlspace. 5. Floor insulation removal. Labor & materials to remove 1120 sq ft of existing floor insulation in crawlspace (includes recycling). 6. Floor insulation (fiberglass batts). Labor & materials to install 1120 sq ft floor insulation with fiberglass batts bringing home up to R-30 with staple & string method of securing. Wrap any exposed water pipes to protect from freezing and faster delivery of hot water.

+ -1 moreThis is quite an operation! Six men spent 7 ½ hours in the crawl space, attic, and all of the rooms in our home performing all of the above-mentioned work. They were on time, professional, friendly, and were happy to explain everything they were doing as they were doing it. They worked incredibly hard, taking only a short break for lunch. We had a very leaky house, which we were well aware of before the audit. We could not control the heating or cooling of our home. It was very uncomfortable and vastly different from one level to the next. After their work, we're very comfortable. We no longer feel the drafts we used to. We're very happy with their work. It was a major investment for us, but we feel it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: A home energy audit was done at no charge a few weeks prior to the service. We had our ducts sealed, the air in our home balanced, our heat pump serviced, 9 baffles installed, and window trim and electrical outlets sealed.

He spent a good amount of time doing his tests on the home's insulation, looking into attic & crawlspace and also testing the AC and heating unit. He sent me a detailed analysis and suggested improvements. Revival energy filled up the mail-in rebate form and I received my reimbursement of the cost ($150) from the Energy Trust of Oregon in a couple of months.

They did a very good job and did it on time for the amount that they said they would charge. It was more expensive than we thought it was going to be. He was thorough, did a great job of explaining his audit results, and made recommendations according to what was absolutely necessary (without any pressure to buy). I have since scheduled additional business because of Ben's recommendations. She was willing to walk me through the experience I could expect and even showed me videos detailing the services they offer. They were able to schedule me quickly. Ben showed up on time with all his equipment in hand. He had noticed a gas leak from my furnace. They were very friendly and easy to work with. There were no sales pitches involved as it was all about assisting me with what would benefit my home. They answered all of my questions. They do offer quotes for future work but you are at no obligation to use them again. I do intend to hire them for additional work.
