Steve was knowledgeable, careful in his work, helpful in his explanations and answered all of my questions in a clear and friendly manner. He was great. I found out a great deal about my home I didn't know. I will be very happy to work with Revival Energy LLC in the future and am looking forward to their work to seal the current leaks.
Description of Work: I contacted the home office and Jim was extremely helpful, and fit me right into their busy schedule. Steve came out today (12/21) to assess my home (a 1927 cottage) for possible areas to improve it's energy efficiency. Steve first assessed the layout of my home and equipment, including the Trane furnace and water heater. Then he brought in his equipment and tested for possible air leaks in my home, assessing whether there was insulation in the walls, where leaks existed around windows and doors. He also used a thermal camera to find where leaks existed in the walls and where ceilings/floors and walls joined. He also went into the attic space to assess the existing insulation there as well as the unfinished basement. He was very, very thorough.

Can a contractor "rock your world"- if so they did just that! Super nice and thorough, no upselling pressure. You learn so much! He did the blower door test and went around with the flir camera and showed me all the leaks and cold spots I never knew I had. Informed me about a new heating/cooling system that would work perfect for my situation even though it's not one of theirs. Just perfect!

They were very thorough and professional. I appreciate that they didn't mind my dogs following them everywhere!
Description of Work: I bought an Angie's List Big Deal to complete an energy audit on my house. Ben and his team came out to the house and did an extremely thorough job. After they completed their audit, they emailed me a very comprehensive report on my house and improvements that I could make. I would definitely recommend them. They also filled out the paperwork for Energy Trust of Oregon so that I could get a tax credit.

Energy audit was very professional. However, we were quite suprised at how much it would cost to remidy our problems...returns were more than 10 times...meaning we spend $1000 to save $100 per year.

I was very lucky to find Revival Energy LLC first by contact at a local home improvement show, and later, and more importantly, through references on Angie's List. When you are an unhandy and a contractor ignorant person like myself, it is a nervous crap shoot to decide on who you will be betting your hard earned money . Well, I won this time. I have a 49 year old home that I knew lacked adequate insulation, and a loud gas furnace that needed increasing repair, and of course, ever higher gas and utility bills, since I have recently retired and am spending way more hours at home. I am normally verbose, but I will try to keep this assessment to the point. If you are a person like me, you want this company to do your up grades. Why ? Honesty, compentancy, strong work ethic, plus their lead man , Robert, has the right combination of hands on "grunt" experience coming up through the building trades, plus the intelligence of having mastered the high tech. skills required to understand all the techniques of proper energy effifiency involving recently developed computer programs and sophisticated monitoring and testing equipment to ensure that your new equipment is functioning correctly in you home.He also has great customer relation skills, and enjoys the challenges of retro fitting older homes. We had challenges.I wanted the furnace moved five feet closer to the wall which you can do with today's smaller efficient equipment. That in itself can bother some installers. I want to tell readers that I learned what the cold air return registers in your floors or walls mean to a properly operating heating system---they are critical! After some degree of head scratching and the use of electronic air pressure measuring meters, Robert deduced my original furnace system had never been installed properly, causing the motor much more load bearing grief, and wasting much fuel in it's nefficient attempt to do it's job--also that's what made it sound like a small hurricane when it was running. Robert determined the system needed more return air vents much closer to the furnace, and the problem was remeadied! Also, we had a unique problem with the new gas hot water heater that was remedied, after much mystery, by Robert talking to tech support at the factory, and having them agree without a fight that their motherboard had a manufacturing flaw--they sent a new one overnight, and Robeet had the previous computer skills to work in a very tight space and take the brain apart, and install the new piece--how many of your neighbor's cousins plumbers could do that if the thing didn't work right when you turned on the hot water? The job just cleared it's final inspection-yes, prepare for several inspections if you live in a municipality where inspectors have their little fiefdoms- and I am totally pleased. Another note to reader's-- allow extra time beyond the estimated completion date for the job to be totally done, especially on older retrofits. It will save your sanity. Issues like I mentioned are bound to come up even with a 'can do' outfit like Revival. Partners Jim and Robert have a smooth running machine, do most of the work within their own company and have excellent relations with their sub contractors thus eliminating delays. They won't stumble on the permits and lining up inspections, and their crew borders on being work-a-holics.These are the good guys, they will treat you right, and you won't be sorry. Leave igloo living for the Alaskans--you now have a warm home for Christmas!
Description of Work: This was a multiple purpose project. An energy audit and inspection was preformed.Wall and attic installation was installed. A new energy efficient gas furnace with a new central A. C. integrated system was installed to replace 35 year old equipment. A new energy efficient, tankless gas hot water heater was installed to replace the costly electric , six year old water heater whose tank was already internally deteriorating.

Overall the work went reasonably well. However some tasks were left undone (furnace filter wasn't reassembled) and some of the work was not too good (furnace wouldn't start because insulation blocked connecting points for shutting the filter door.

It went great. They explained the entire report and showed me what I could to save money. I didn't get any work done because I don't have the money for the kind of structural improvements that they suggested but I did like knowing what was going on in my house.

He came on time with a lot of interesting equipment. Did blower test and reviewed attic and crawl space. Explained issues and provided several options for further work. No pressure on sale, in fact, never really followed up which made it easy for us to decide to prioritize other work. Did leave some equipment on our front door for a week, but not a big deal. Can't give an A rating because they didn't do any work for us.

Overall, the process of dealing with Revial Energy LLC was positive and professional. We chose this service because of the special price offered on Angie's List. Unfortunately, we had already chosen another company to install a new gas furnace the following week. We should have had this audit months earlier so we could have considered this company in implementing some of the recommendations at this time.
Description of Work: We had Revival Energy LLC come to our home to do an energy audit. The company was very prompt in answering my request for an appointment and we were able to have the audit done within a week of calling. The company came in with a variety of technical equipment and efficiently set up and performed the audit. It seemed very complete and showed us both efficiencies and deficiencies of our home with recommendations for improvement. They explained their process as they conducted the audit. They emailed us a report of their findings. Because of this audit we did make the decision to implement some of their recommendations based on our budget.

These guys are fantastic! They came and did the blower test on our new home, checked the furnace and gas appliances, and otherwise checked the energy efficiency of our home. We had a substantial temperature difference between up and downstairs, and they were able to pinpoint a 1/2" gap at the foundation where the cold air was coming in. Found a small issue with our gas range, and helped us understand how to run it safely without building up too much carbon monoxide. This was a new home for us, so getting the information regarding its efficiency was very helpful going into winter. Gave recommendations for possible fixes, but there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything -- left a report that was extremely detailed and helpful, and we have the recommendations to refer to in the future. They filed the Energy Trust rebate and which we promptly received. We have saved more than the cost of the audit in the advice, explanations and data they showed us. Very worthwhile!
Description of Work: Came out and did a whole home energy audit. Submitted all paperwork for Energy Trust rebate for us, and gave us estimates and recommendations for home improvements.

Very professional. Provided a computer report. They even came back to do the air seal test for now extra charge. The only problem was we weren't really sure where to go from there. The recommendations we received didn't address some of our concerns. (and were more than we wanted to spend.) I think we really know what we need to do - seal around the doors. They didn't include this in their report. I would've liked if they would have noted it (and given us a bid for resolving it.) That said, I could have pursued it with them and didn't. We were busy and I just let it go.

My auditor Ben was extremely professional and knowledgable, but he was also flat out friendly and personable. I was really impressed by how detailed the audit was. I really didn't expect him to spend so much time looking at every corner of the home. He set up the blower test, IR scanned the whole house, then carefully measured every wall of my home and plugged it all into a computer model to figure out how my home is performing. I was really impressed by how impartial they try to be - Ben went out of his way NOT to try to sell me on any products, simply presenting me with facts tp use however I'd like. And the audit really did seem very objective to me. For instance my old house is pretty leaky (equivalent of 13' by 13' hole in wall), but since my HVAC is efficient, and my overall bills are modest, the audit showed that no major appliance/heating/cooling equipment changes would make sense economically. When I had a specific question about a cold room in my house, Ben had an answer of how that might be addressed in a practical/economical way. Ben created quotes of what his company could do to address the issues (like air leakage, lack of insulation, etc...), but never tried to sell me on them, and gave me lots of advice of how I could at least address these issues on my own/on a budget if I want to go that route. I'm still not sure what I will do going forward, but regardless, I learned a lot about my house from the audit, and again, I was very impressed by Revival Energy's professionalism and expertise.
Description of Work: They came and did an energy efficiency audit, including blower test with infrared scanning, and correlating with our energy bills. Spent more than 3 hours in my home looking in every nook and cranny.

They estimated three days to complete all of the work, but finished in two full days. The foreman was very easy to work with and we admired the professionalism of the entire crew. They did a thorough job of cleaning up after themselves. After the work was completed they came back, performed another energy test on the house, completed the paperwork for the rebates and submitted them to the appropriate agencies. The only hitch in the entire process was with the electrical subcontractor that was used for the installation of the exhause fans. It took them 3 separate visits to get it right . However, Revival Energy was very supportive in getting the electrical subcontractor back out here to correct their work. The electrical subcontractor left the house in a greater mess after 3 hours work than did Revival Energy in 2 full days of work. Revival Energy did clean up after the electrical contractors In summary, we were favorably impressed by the work done and especially in the professionalism of the crew and office staff. We would use them again.
Description of Work: Company was hired initially to perform an energy audit of our home to determine where money might be best invested to improve the energy usage in our home. This work was done promptly taking about half a day. We were presented with a lot of detail on the efficiency of our windows, our insulation, our furnace, our ductwork, air leakage between crawl space and house, as well as between hourse and attic. Fixes were rated as to cost, projected savings, rebates, etc., so that we could choose which items, if any, to have fixed. There was no pressure to have them fixed, or, if we did, to use their firm to do so. After about a week of review and further investigation on our part, we decided to have this firm perform some of the items on the list, specifically: 1) replace the furnace ductwork in both the crawlspace and in the attic, 2) increase the amount of insulation in the attic, 3) replace 2 thermostats, 4) install 2 exhaust fans, and 5) add a CO monitor.

Overall, everything went very well. We really enjoyed working with the Revival Energy team from the start. We had our initial assessment and decided it was worth the investment to completely insulate and take care of the heating and cooling needs in one go. We worked with Marko and Ben at first, who were both very accommodating to our schedule and were more than happy to meet us after hours and answer our many questions. The actual project was run by Robert and his crew. Jim, the operations manager, was always punctual in responses and I felt that communication with this company was great. The installation of the heat pump took a bit longer than anticipated, although it was not the fault of Revival. The project overall took about a week to complete. Followup after the installation has also been good. Jim and Susan assist with the rebate filing, which is kind of a confusing and lengthy process. Susan has been great in contacting the appropriate agencies to ensure we get our rebates. We are very happy with their work and have already recommended them to friends and family.
Description of Work: We had Revival Energy complete several things for us, including duct sealing, attic and crawlspace air sealing, attic insulation, floor insulation, and replacing our dryer exhaust. They also removed a dual system, hydraulic furnace in our attic and installed a heat pump with new air vents in one room and bathroom.

Revival did whole house leak test and energy audit. Identified duct leak sealing/insulation and house air leak sealing, and wall insulation as highest value upgrades and of course I wanted to replace my old oil furnace with gas. Because of some questions about existing electrical wiring we didn't do the wall insulation but plan to next year. We had Revival do the duct sealing / insulating (which turned out to be a very time consuming project) and replace the furnace. We did the house air leak work ourselves and the areas in need of work had been identified during the audit. Revival's work took about three days and they did a very tidy and professional job. I highly recommend them. They were not the lowest bid but close enough. They understood what I wanted which was maximum energy efficiency for the house not just the furnace. They were also very knowledgeable about current energy efficiency practices. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Whole house energy audit including blower door testing and duct leak testing. Replaced old oil furnace with a 95% efficient gas furnace. Sealed and insulated all basement duct work. Added improved furnace filter system and installed CO2 detector. Assisted with rebate paperwork. All reports and estimates were clear and in writing. Used Manual J modeling for sizing furnace which went from 80k BTU unit to 40K BTU unit.

I can only repeat what other reviewers have said. They did a great job from start to finish. The guy that came out was nice and explained everything he did. Luckily I am technically savvy so it did not take long for me to understand things he was explaining. But if I would have had difficulties he would have taken the time to explain it to me so I understand. The print out was impressive and overall we know now where to invest to improve the energy consumption. No pressure to buy any of their services performing those improvements.
