Extensive audit of our home, energy use, heat loss areas, and structural considerations. The evaluation included looking into all areas of the home, attic, crawl space, etc. Using the thermal camera they were able to show me specific areas of heat loss - and thereby illustrate the potential savings to be accrued by correcting the problem. We received a comprehensive document detailing the items found and discussed along with copies of the thermal images taken during the evaluation and inspection. The documentation listed each discrete step required to correct the problems discovered, along with a price to accomplish each correction. We were able to select which item(s) we wanted to deal with first or we could select the entire package. Because there is so much work to be done, we decided to handle several of the items over time. We had one small project done in conjunction with other remodel work to this point and hope to have more done this summer.

Very detailed report and estimate. Pricing for some of the services appeared to be a little high. I did not have them perform any of the work outside of the assessment report. Overall though a great service for the price of the inspection report.

Extremely Well; The crew was very efficient and professional at all times. kept us informed throughout the process of what is being done and what to expect. They did their best to not disturb our recently acquired rescue cat who was extremely timid and nervous when we got her. All debri was removed and cleaned up. We noticed an immediate improvement in air quality, noise reduction and work load on the a/c. also immediately noticed a drop in electric and gas bills.
Description of Work: installed: roof vents; shower fan, venting, and light switch; c/o monitor; attic ac/heat duct insulation; attic and crawlspace sealing with foam; under floor insulation; removed old duct work and replaced with flexible insulated ducting; wrapped all exposed pipes; sealed garage area around and including the gas heater/ac unit; Draw down Test again for sealing efficiency and amount of improvement.

From start to finish the service was perfect. They were on time and explained the whole process. The gentleman was extremely nice, informative and personable. I have two small children and he was patient and engaging with them as well as they became interested in what he was doing. It was like having a family friend over except he was actually working in our home. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone, you will not be disappointed. He even filled out all the paperwork so I could get a refund through the state of oregon for becoming more energy efficient.
Description of Work: They performed testing on our entire house to see if it could be more energy efficient in terms of insulation and air leaks. They also installed a digital thermostat.

Robert arrived right on time and informed me about himself, the company, and the overall process. The processs only takes a few hours but I generally have more questions, so about 4.45 hours. I feel quite confident in my knowledge base about construction, weatherization and various aspects of home maintenance yet Robert took me to a new level. I was able to get this Home Energy Audit done at a great price (free) via Oregon Energy Credit. Robert pressurized the house and began taking readings, measurements, and documenting for a complete report that was not only reviewed at conclusion, but emailed for review. This was very nice. I have a lot to consider about what to proceed on myself and what to turn over to Robert as the report is very comprehensive. I can recommend anyone will be very impressed with Robert as I am very particular as previous reviews will attest.

I moved into my 1971-built home in December and spent a miserable winter with drafts in the living room and a master bedroom that was over ten degrees colder than the living room thermostat readout. I regularly wore a hooded sweatshirt indoors, plus thick socks. The only warm spot in the house was the bathroom. I had Energy Trust of Oregon do a preliminary audit, and then got bids from several insulation firms. After conducting a full house audit, Revival Energy Group provided a bid that had several options that I could choose from, plus extensive information on where I was losing efficiency could get the biggest return on a weatherization investment. I chose to go with the most extensive package because I wanted the synergy of having all the improvement elements operating simultaneously, and because I hope to live here until I get too old to function. The work was scheduled for about two weeks after I gave them the go-ahead, and was completed in three days. One interesting thing was that the original bid was to SEAL the heating ducts, but they replaced them instead. The result, in addition to the delivery of WARM air at the vents (rather than heating the crawlspace through all the leaks along the way), was that the heater, when it does run, is so much quieter because the old metal ducts echoed. The guys working on the house would not leave until they had caulked and insulated every electrical outlet. They even detected a miniscule gas leak near my water heater which I had repaired before it got worse. Then they filed all the paperwork for my rebates. The drafts are gone. I saw them blow in the wall insulation, but they left the outside of the house in such pristine condition I don't have any touch-up to do. The furnace doesn't go on and off all the time, and the house is quieter. I can no longer see my breath in the master bedroom. I had an extensive kitchen remodel done recently, which I love, but the comfort produced by this insulation improvement feels like an even bigger luxury.
Description of Work: Building envelope sealing, wall cavity insulation, duct replacement, duct sealing, duct insulation, installation of additional ducts, floor insulation, brought attic ventilation up to code, corrected bathroom and hood vent exhaust operation, CO monitor.

It all started out with new wallpaper in the bathroom. We discovered a pipe leak and ants in the space. When the crawl space was checked, mice droppings were found. All the insulation was taken out and then replaced by Revival along with the other services. They did a great job, especially keeping the house clean as they took out old materials. Needless to say, it was an expensive wallpaper job.

They came out, then, set up all this equipment and all that other stuff which I personally think was a waste of time. I have a forty-year old home, and I cannot imagine spending $100,000 to save a couple of $1000. They were fine and fair. The price was fair since they rebated most of it. They were good. They came on time.

Everything worked out great and the way it was supposed to. There were some energy rebates that saved us on the overall net cost. It has reduced our energy consumption. They kept in close touch throughout the entire process and explained everything effectively. A person did an analysis with an inferred test. We got a print out of all the testing and the reports. They did a lot of different testing to see how well the house was sealed and to see all the leakage. It was very extensive, really comprehensive, and informative. They provided a lot of useful information. It was very thorough and we have positive results.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for attic air ventilation, spray foam air sealing, and attic insulation. However, they did an entire energy upgrade and inspection. A lot of work took place.

We had some issues, although once we complained the owner was prompt in communicating with us and attempting to address our concerns, and gave us a discount on our final bill. Issues: Outdoor clean-up was pretty awful - lots of nails, insulation, etc. left around our house. They had - forgotten? - that a portion of the walls upstairs also needed insulation, and this was only remedied when we pushed - but communication around it all was lacking. We had been told lead testing would be done and we'd get the results, and that precautions would be taken - none of this happened that we could tell (after complaining they sent someone out to do a lead test on our paint). We felt like they were not upfront about the possible mess in our cupboards, etc. from blowing in the insulation - although they (or we!)couldn't have known how many gaps there were in our interior walls, we ended up spending 3 nights cleaning insulation off our dishes, out of our cupboards, etc. After all the back and forth we do feel like our house is well insulated, but it was a much bigger hassle than expected!

I was very impressed with the overall methods used to obtain the detailed information. However, I could not get a response other than one email when I asked for a consultation and to go over the information. In that email it stated that I should contact Ben if I had any questions, that I should contact him. Which I have. After three attempts I have give up. Too bad. Betty S Davison
Description of Work: The original appointment was very thorough in checking the door openings, the windows for leaking of air because of gaps, etc. He even checked all the heat vents and checked in the attic for all the exhaust fan hose to the outside for proper fitting and proper installation. On the dryer also. He checked the furnace size and functions, and its duct work. I received his report by email the next day. Three files. One of all the "cold spots", one of the proposal and one with other details.

Ben arrived for the appointment and spent considerable time analyzing the basic areas for heat loss, at times taking thermal and regular photos where air leakage occurs. We discussed the age of our appliances and the energy consumed. (At the time, our refrigerator was being repaired under an extended warranty plan.) Ben put together all the information he gathered and produced a quality performance assessment. There were three levels of recommendations for projects to improve our energy consumption. The report was emailed to us the same day.
Description of Work: Had an Energy Assessment done for our home. The analyst, Ben, was quite professional and efficient. He produced a quality report on our energy usage and provided recommendations for possible energy savings. While we appreciated the time and effort, we have not acted upon any of those recommendations, having found that the real energy-hog was a dysfunctional heat pump, which we have replaced.

I was not impressed from the beginning. The large amount of time spent on the computer seemed strange. Frequent mentions of God's part in their lives were not appreciated --- seemed quite unprofessional. The fact that they were alarmed by the odor they sucked in from the attic meant they really had not listened to what I had been telling them. Bottom line seemed to be that they had a formula that was the same for each house, and my house didn't fit that formula. They followed up with a report that was sent to me via computer. I have not followed up on their recommendations.
Description of Work: I had a coupon from Angie's List for an energy efficiency audit. I was interested in an analysis of my home's heating efficiency, i.e. how tight the house is, how much heat I might be losing. Two people arrived, did quite a bit of work on their laptop computer; questioned me re my knowledge of a house's heat retention, etc. and then used measuring devices to pinpoint places where I might be losing heat. They sealed the house with tape and used a large device on the door to measure heat loss. Despite the fact that I had told them of a problem we have with an odor in the attic from time to time (have not yet discovered the source), they reversed their fan/motor on the door device so that air was sucked into the house from outside --- and we had the unpleasant odor from the attic sucked into the entire house.

overall we had to talk the owner down on an instillation that would have been more costly than was really necessary for our size of house. There had to be modification to some of their recommendations. Everyone of the company was polite and personable. For us it didn't prove to be the best investment.
Description of Work: I'm sorry, but without looking up the facts and figures I wouldn't be able to give correct $ etc. I have not found the sealing of air leakage to the attic, to have help at all in some parts of our house. for instance the den still is just as cold as it was before. This is possibly because the roof line was to narrow near the outer walls to allow for doing anything further with the instillation. This is true for our bedroom and den and guest bedroom. For that reason, the many spent was not as useful to us as if the house was constructed differently. I wish the company could have informed us that our particular job wasn't going to be as beneficial to us as we had hoped.

One team performed the audit, and they were professional and clear and explained well the results of their tests. This team indicated that we didn't want to seal up some of the air leaks because current thinking is that houses need a certain amount of air replacement. (I've forgotten the number but they were quite specific about how much air exchange is healthy). This team also noted asbestos in the ducting which would mean following certain safety protocols. The installation team was professional and courteous and timely, and also seemed to know exactly what they were doing. There was a little disconnect, however, as they felt all the air leaks should be sealed up. There were some communication errors through the process, which the company did bend over backwards to adjust. The team that came in to do the final testing necessary for rebates paperwork was unaware of the asbestos issue. I asked them to double-check, which they did and found that they needed to observe additional safety protocols. So it all worked out, but the miscommunication was a little disconcerting. This may have been an unusual situation though, as there were extenuating circumstances: the owners mother was in a hospital emergency situation during the project. I had the feeling that communication was normally better. The installation team was pretty good about clean-up, but did leave a few greasy fingerprints that we're working on cleaning up.
Description of Work: The company performed an energy audit and came up with some recommendations of service. We were expecting the audit to indicate we needed the work. They vented the attic, put insulation in the attic and sealed the attic. They also installed a fan in the basement, and sealed various spots.
