Pioneer Pest Management

We cannot recommend Pioneer Pest and Mick highly enough. We received a bid to trap and remove mice as necessary ($229 for the first appt (due to the larger size of our home), $99 for each appt afterward), but it wasn't clear that we continue to have the problem - we've patched holes in the exterior and what we've found could be a result of previous infestation. Urine and droppings were only found in two fairly limited areas and there was no sign of any continued activity. Mick very kindly removed the 3 dead mice we had in our crawl space, which generated the odor that led to the service appt. We expected Mick to try to talk us into performing the full service, but he did no such thing. Mick is the kind of honest, reasonable, and educated expert every homeowner hopes for when hiring a contractor. If you browse the distribution of our reviews, you might take note that we do not give this level of praise very often...What we've decided to do is to monitor the situation and if we see any NEW activity, we plan to hire Pioneer and request Mick. In the meantime, we hope the mice are unable to return and that this was an isolated infestation. Straight a+ from us.

Great services! Jim is wonderful to work with and very friendly. He walked all around the inside of the building to find potential areas that rodents were getting in. He also walked all around the outside of the building and told us what needed to be fixed or repaired in order to prevent further issues. The company has been wonderful to work with! They follow up as needed and come out as soon as you call. Would highly recommend!

I've used Pioneer Pest for many years at multiple residences and recommend them to friends and family. I'm on a quarterly system and it's awesome. One payment per quarter and anything I need them for in between is covered.

We asked them to inspect the crawl space of an older home we were planning to buy. They scheduled an appointment for just a few days later, and quickly gave us great information about what they found, all for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

We had carpet beetles in our master bedroom two years ago that were doing damage to some of our clothing and had hired another pest company to use a natural treatment option and they returned. I wanted to find a company who was reputable and using eco friendly products, but that would be able to give us a better solution to the problem. Adam Daniels was our service rep and did an excellent job with our carpet beetle treatment. He gave us tips on how to reduce the likelihood of return by explaining living and feeding behavior and helped us come up with an individualized plan of attack which includes cleaning comforters and different methods of storing other clothing and fabrics. He even spent time explaining what he was looking for during the inspection to my two young sons who were very curious about the bugs and where they hide. Adam was professional, friendly and provided top notch customer service. I can't yet comment on the effectiveness of the treatment since we just had our service today, however, I feel confident that we finally have a solid plan to tackle this issue. I had a great experience with Pioneer Pest Management. I would use them again.

One person came out and took about an hour. I had used them before. They come out quickly and the warranty was covered even though it was towards the end. If someone asked, I would recommend them.

They seem to know what they are doing. When we had a problem, they came up with a solution.

Overall it went well. They came out and were thorough, and didn't charge us for the first initial visit because they said that there were some holes that needed a contractor to close before they came and trapped the rats. This was extremely helpful because they could easily have just trapped rats, but instead had us look for a permanent solution for prevention first. They then came back for a number of visits as they continued to trap them all. It cost more than we initially expected/hoped for, but I don't blame them for being unable to trap all of the rats in one go. Haven't had a recurrence, and I've called them deal with a pest problem at my grandmother's house.

The rodent stations are a bit larger than a shoe box with 2 holes. The based is weighted so that it can't be tipped over. Edible substance is bolted to the box so that a rodent would have to chew it off. Boxes will be left for 6 weeks. Already found one dead rat and I am sure that there will be more. Ugh.

We are on a contract with them. I have used them for 9 month. They pay attention to detail and educate their clients.

I contacted the company on Monday afternoon and they scheduled me for Thursday and told me they would call on Wednesday with a time window for the visit. As promised, they called on Wednesday and scheduled the time window for Thursday. The tech arrived promptly within this time window and was pleasant and professional. He used a ladder to go into my attic and quickly verified the location of the starlings and explained how to fix the problem. He wore booties when walking through the house and used a drop cloth to make sure any insulation falling from the attic would be contained. He was friendly with my dog and quick to complete the bird removal and repair of the hole in the soffit. The entire visit took less than an hour.

Pioneer came out to help us find the source of our tenants' complaints regarding "noises in the attic." Dale came to the site, after providing 20 minutes notice as I requested, and was quickly up on the roof looking for entry points. Finding nothing suspicious, he set up a ladder inside the unit to access the attic. He put down a drop cloth and wore booties to keep the tenants' space clean. Although he didn't find any evidence of critters inside the house, Dale offered some insight and advice about what the noise might be (raccoons and cats on top of the the roof). I was very pleased with his attention to detail and punctuality. I will be using Pioneer again.

I received an e-mail within minutes of submitting my request on Angie's List and had an appointment scheduled for only a few days out within the hour! The technician arrived promptly, got straight to work investigating our starling problem, and had everything completed within about an hour. He was very professional and easy to work with and we sure appreciate the expedient service and reasonable price. We would use this company again without hesitation!

We’ve used them before and it’s going well.

When Eric arrived the first time, he inspected for what I thought was an active yellow jacket nest. When he found that it was an old one, he left without charging me for the visit. I was very impressed by his honesty and integrity and thus did not hesitate to call upon him again to deal with my rodent problem which I discovered not long after the first visit. After efficiently setting up traps/monitors, he returned for two more weekly visits in order to remove the trapped rodents, and gave me the option for leaving monitors in place. I was very impressed by the professionalism and integrity of this company.

We had an issue with rat gaining entry to our chimney or attic. I called Pioneer and they scheduled someone the next day. Don identified the likely source of entry after inspecting the outside of our property, the basement and the attic. He also spent a fair bit of time checking our property, answering our questions and providing helpful tips both on dealing with both the immediate issue and preventing any future issues. He clearly explained the options of what we could either do ourselves or hire them to do and prepared a detailed bid for us. There was no charge for this initial inspection. He was very professional and clearly knowledgeable. Their prices seemed reasonable to me.

They are getting ready to do ant control for my cottages. When I call they always answer. They show up on time, are efficient and they always make the bugs go away.

They were off of Angie's List. It got to be quite expensive. He had to keep coming back. It was a horrible and miserable job so the price was fair.

I'm allergic to bees and was frightened to find 4 live wasp-like creatures in my house in a two day time period. I immediately consulted Angie's List and phoned a well reviewed pest control company. They understood my urgency but could not schedule someone to come out for two weeks. The first company referred me on to Pioneer Pest Management and I spoke to Alison. They also were busy for about the next week. Again they referred me on to yet a third company for whom Alison had only positive things to say. It was this third company that was able to come out the very next morning. This still left me wanting to leave a review for the other two companies who understood my problem but were unable to assist. It is nice to see the cooperation between these companies and the positive regard they have for each other.

The ants were gone within a few days.

We called them mid afternoon and explained that we had ants in the master bathroom. They came out a few hours later to look over the area and the house. They informed me in easy to understand terms that the carpenter ants present were a different beast than the simple sugar ants I had experienced in the past. The technician placed the appropriate bait in the master bathroom, with no unpleasant smell, safety issues or visibility. He sprayed around the house as well. He went over what to expect and so far it has gone as he said it would. I was given a 90 day warranty in case they come back. He was punctual, professional, educational, thorough and pleasant. All in all a great encounter considering I was dealing with an ant infestation. I will use them again.
