Provider was on time & covered his shoes when he entered the house. Provider explained what he was doing & gave information on the pests he was treating. I have pets & was assured that the treatment is safe for them to be around. The problem went away almost immediately. Provider left traps to set out if problem returned. I ordered a year of treatment for inside & outside of house. Provider went around outside of house after treating inside. Provider will return on a quarterly basis. I am very happy with the results & I would recommend this company to anybody who needs this kind of service.

Very mixed experience. The initial phone call was professional; estimator was prompt and explained what he thought the problem and solution was, and looked over the work that needed to be done. The workman showed up on time and got right to work. It turned out, however, that the estimator had failed to communicate some of the peculiarities of our house, so the guy doing the work didn't have the necessary ladder(s), scaffolding, staging, or whatever, to complete the job. He apologized and said he'd arrange for another call, without an additional trip fee. We got the bill for the work done, which was in line with the time and materials expended. We never heard back from them about the rest of the job, even after I called and emailed. Not happy with that aspect of the overall experience. In short: good workmen, not-so-good office. Probably would not have them back.

Pioneer Pest Control did an excellent job explaining what treatment they had used to get rid of our ants, and left baits with clear directions on how, when, and where to use them. The ants were finally gone. Very professional and I am going to subscribe to their service as it's coming up on ant season.
Description of Work: We had been using another company for ant control, but it was not working. We were having them come at least once a month to re-treat, and the little ants just kept coming back. At our wits' end, because we just completed a guest house for short term rentals and didn't want bad reviews due to ants, we called Pioneer Pest Control.

Excellent! Pioneer Pest Management is the best. All of their techs and office staff are knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. For us, Pioneer's best feature is in their name: Pioneer Pest Management (not "Pioneer Extermination Inc."). Our goal was to manage the raccoons, mice, and ants, not the extinction thereof and harming our biosphere in the process. We now have Pioneer scheduled to inspect for rodents and ants on a quarterly basis.

we have had sugar ants in the house for an extended period. This contractor came in and applied a non-toxic chemical around the kitchen and a couple other rooms. He said we should see the ants for a little while linger while they forage on the chemical but we haven't seen an ant yet. The price was for a 1-yr contract for a total of 4 applications; more if needed. The man was professional and performed the work in around an hour.

For regular services they notify us before they are coming by email and phone. When they arrive they let us know they are about to start (we have to keep dogs in for a couple of hours after). We usually have Mike and he is thorough, professional and a pleasure to work with. When we have had a rodent problem in the house they are very responsive and helpful.

Mick was our tech who came out and arrived not only on time but early! Very professional and explained how ants work and their habits per se'. We talked over an action plan and he got right to work. Explained how the product will work and what to expect after the initial application of product. Gave me a couple of ant baits in case a surge of ants come back - but again - he explained that this is something that could happen, but to give them a call if I have any issues, and they'll be right over! I feel confident that I'll get our ant issue resolved.

Work was completed on time. Serviceman was friendly and thorough. Price was much more than quoted. Quarterly service was more than quoted as well. Work was supposed to be guaranteed; but, when we called back after two weeks and again after four weeks to complain about still having an ant problem, we were told we needed to wait longer. We just got a call to schedule our quarterly service. Quote was still the higher amount. I told them to cancel our service. I don't like BAIT-AND-SWITCH companies, will not use this company again, and will steer others away from this company, as well.

When we are offering price estimates over the phone we are very clear that the prices are a ball park estimate and our technician can inspect and provide you with firm pricing. At the time of the inspection you are provided with firm pricing and are not obligated to have services performed. When we spoke with you on the phone you had concerns about multiple pests the pricing provided to you was for ants. At the time you had also mentioned concerns with yellow jackets and carpenter bees, we explained that we can't provide you with any pricing idea without being able to see the size, location and number of nests at your home. This is where the difference in the ball park price for ants over the phone and the price for a full home treatment for ants, wasps, spiders and all your common pests that was provided came from. Pioneer Pest Management is a member of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and further have been granted the QualityPro certification by the NPMA given to only a very few companies nationwide. One of the requirements of a QualityPro certified company is that all services we provide require written service agreements that detail the services, pricing and expectations of the service which is then signed by the technician and customer acknowledging the price and service expectations. We have reviewed our internal records, interviewed the service technician who preformed the inspection as well as the original phone call with our office and re-checked the inspection notes for the service. The technician who came was very thorough and explained everything he was doing. He gave specific instructions for follow-up. For example, he said the ant problem would get worse before it got better as they were attracted to the bait, and resist the urge to crush them so the stuff could do its job. Everything worked just like he said, Our ant activity diminished greatly, but with a little bit of activity 3 weeks later, we called again, and they sent someone right out. Their response time is quick and their technicians are friendly and respectful of the home. I will use them again.

They were great. Don was very professional, talked with us about our problem, did a walk through first, Then went under the house to treat it, treated outside perimeter, inside kitchen sink area, and the perimeter of our shop. Took care of all spider webs and old bee hive nests. We have used another provider before but found Pioneer to charge the stated rate (not add on a bunch of unknown charges). We signed up for a one year service.
Description of Work: Little black ants are moving in the home this winter and well, we tried all the stuff over the counter. We used Pioneer Pest because of the reviews on Anglie's list. Took care of under house and all around the outside home and shop.

Awesome Adam! He was on time and very professional. After explaining the situation to him, he checked around the perimeter of the house to see where the entry ways could be. Then, he came back dressed in his Breaking Bad Hazmat suit and proceeded to go into the depths of the house underground. After emerging from the pit, we were pleased to hear that fortunately there wasn't damage as our rodent visitors hadn't been hanging out down there too long. Since the underside of a house doesn't smell so wonderful at any time, especially in the winter and after some evidence of unwanted visitors, he offered to do a sanitizing deodorizer spray. This worked wonders and really helped with the smell. After all this, Adam still was smiling and had a great sense of humor. Thank goodness there is a company like Pioneer Pest and workers like Adam who are there and do this kind of work. Bugs creek me out, and the thought of mice or rats under the house is unthinkable; So to be willing to get down in the dirt with them and come up smiling...you are the bomb! Thanks again!

A few years ago I moved into a house and immediately had an ant Problem. My wife found Pioneer Pest control on Angiies List. They were punctual and professional. We signed up for a year of treatment. Three months after the intial treatment the ants came back. I used Pioneer Pest Controls treatment services for almost 3 years. Over the years their people remained professional and punctual however the problem never went away. Every 2-3 months the ants would come back through the same windowns and I would be told the same things. I feel I was incredibly patient. I was often handed ant bait traps that would temporarily eliminate the problem for a few months. I would call them during those times and a professional would come by and treat the area where the ants were entering. Almost 15 months ago my wife delivered our only child. Now the ants were entering her window. The final two times I called Pioneer Pest Control I was told a professional would not be able to come for 4 or 5 days. That is simply unacceptable given I was paying for a service. $1000+should eliminate the problem...not create a vicious cycle. I lived in Texas and North Carolina where ant problems are much worse and the problem never persisted more than 3 treatments. I understand that from State to State chemicals can differ yet I belive had I not ended service I would have been paying for the next 20 years while the problem never went away.

We have used this provider in the past with success but between now and then something changed. In the past we had 30 day or 45 day warranties on their services but this time there was no warranty. We called them today, 12 days after they were here because our house is COVERED with box elders bugs. After the first day they treated the house, there has been very little evidence that the bugs that are landing on the treated surfaces are dying, as we have witnessed in the past and were promised this time. When we called to complain today we were told that every year is different, there is no warranty on their work and all they could offer is to come back and re-treat. Having already spent $291.60 for a service that doesn't appear to have worked, we declined. I am very disappointed that we didn't realize there would be no warranty on their work, as there was in the past, when we set up the appointment, as we would have called someone else. We will never use this service again, and will do our best to to make sure others are warned. In the past when we have had our home sprayed, the result was a major reduction in the amount of bugs outside after the first day. As waves more bugs arrived, large numbers of them would be dead a day after landing on our house. We could visually SEE that the treatment was working and continuing to work, but this year that is not the case. Some years we haven't sprayed and have had box elder bugs hanging around and getting inside until at least December. It is maddening to have spent almost $300 and have it appear that we will have bugs here until the end of the year anyway. Update: Pioneer offered to refund our money or re-spray after seeing our original review. They came out, re-sprayed (with a different chemical) and it appears that it worked much better than the first treatment. We are keeping notes this time so that we can ask for more details about the treatment in future years, and will never use a company that doesn't offer a 30-60 day guarantee for their services. I'm grateful to Angie's List, as without our posting a bad review we had no recourse.

UPDATE: A few days after writing this review, someone from Pioneer Pest Management called me to apologize for my bad experience and offered to reset the traps. So far, even though we have only caught "non-target" animals, I have been really pleased with their response to this situation. We (still) have a raccoon in our backyard that we see regularly-not everyday, but about once a week. I decided to call Pioneer Pest to get it taken care of after a close encounter with our new puppy. The exterminator that came out was very friendly and looked over the house to make sure there were no entry points and set two traps. After a little over a week of no success, they sent someone back to pick up the traps and told us they would reset the traps if he comes back within 30 days (11 of those days we were on vacation). They didn't change the location or the bait, or make any other efforts to trap the raccoon after the initial week. I really feel like I threw $179.10 into the trash. If the time frame was 30 days, they should have actually given it 30 days instead of a week. I understand that they need to use the traps for other jobs, but I got far less than what was agreed upon and paid for. The guys that came out were great, but the overall value for the service was a bit of a rip off.

I found a bug that my cats were chasing. I thought it was a (flying) termite. Unfortunately, I looked on the internet and convinced myself I was infested with them. I called Pioneer after seeing their reviews on Angie's List. Janessa was my first contact with the company. After speaking with her for about 15 minutes I was sold. She took the time to explain things to me, wasn't pushy with me, offered to have someone at my house within two or three days. I was going out of town so we scheduled for Monday, 8/24, between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. At precisely 4:01 p.m. Adam knocked on my door. He was so conscientious about putting the bootie covers on his boots! I had captured the insect in question and gave to Adam for his inspection. Within two minutes he was able to calm my fears - it was not a termite, but rather a type of wood eating beetle. He then suited up and crawled under my house for the inspection. Now, I have been under my house - it's not pleasant! Adam dove right in and did a thorough inspection. He never complained about the heat or the dirt. In fact, he smiled the entire time. He then inspected outside my house, including the yard and the fence. Once the inspection was complete he shared his findings and then we talked about the possible service plans with Pioneer. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend this company to everyone. I am definitely signing up with Pioneer - TODAY!!!!

I just moved into a house and wanted to have the interior and exterior sprayed for bugs. Jon was on time and very helpful. He answered all my questions and did a great job. He removed several wasp nests that I didn't even realize I had. I bought the quarterly service (with some add-ons) and am glad I did!

They are great! They are very attentive. They came back to install another bait station and check the old ones when a critter got in my car and chewed up some wires. I would definitely recommend them. Very patient and informative.
