Contractor submitted a bid for installing the flooring which included the costs of all materials except the actual laminate. No mention of a separate charge was stated prior to the installation. I was surprised after the installation with the comment that I could pay for the flooring through him or directly through the distributor. An additional cost of several hundred dollars not in my budget. I was shocked as a previous contractor installed the same flooring under the same conditions in another room of the house for the price in the original quote but his included the cost of the laminate. Had I known his did not include the laminate I would have gone with the more reasonable bid of a different contractor. The contractor had apprentice working with him who cut the laminate. Either through an error by the contractor in the measuring or the apprentice in the cutting, it was necessary to have a seam running the entire length of the room about two feet from the wall. He was not going to seal the seam until I asked him about it. He then smeared some type of sealant about the width of a finger along the seam and left it to dry. It is still shiny and noticeable in any light. It looks like clear nail polish was poured along the seam. This was by far the worst experience with a contractor that I have ever experienced since purchasing my home.

They were very helpful and sent us to pick out our own carpet. Plenty of options available with helpful sells people. Carpet was installed in a timely manner, they even worked around our schedule since we were doing some other work around the house.
