There's a reason these guys have such a high rating. I recently bought a duplex, there was the potential for asbestos in the basement. I contacted Minority Abatement and Guillermo came out the next day, scoped the situation out, sent me a quote and as soon as I agreed he had a team out within just a couple days to remove the potential asbestos. I had renters inside the unit above, they didn't even notice the abatement team because they made little to no noise. The entire job was done in a couple hours and thoroughly cleaned up, you'd never notice they were there other than the missing duct work they took out from the HVAC. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Highly responsive. Extremely well priced.

Emilio and his team are one of the best contractors that we have worked with and believe me we have worked with a lot of contractors so far since we just bought an old house. I always take 4 bids on services and they were one of the best ones in price and as soon as I met Emilio I felt confident to work with him. They are punctual, straight forward, honest, kind and hardworking. They finish the job on time and left everything clean.

We purchased an old house and could not schedule anything until the purchase date was clear. We wanted to do it before move in. Because we had a very short escrow we didn't even start talking to contractors until we were very close to the start date. All the certified companies were busy but Emilio went out of his way to schedule his team to work on the weekend and get the biggest part of the job done to help us out. On Saturday they started at 8am and just installed the containment area. On Sunday they asked if they could start at 6am which was fine with us. They had a team of guys and would have worked through lunch if I hadn't offered to go get food for them. They were extremely careful with our property and worked quickly and efficiently. You could tell they have done this many many times and they did a very good job. We had hoped that our drywall was primed under the popcorn and we might be able to get away with just painting but unfortunately that wasn't the case and it will need some drywall touchup before painting. But it wasn't because the guys didn't try very hard to get it off clean. I would definitely hire these guys again. In fact, I hope to do so for the rest of the job if we can manage to schedule that.
Description of Work: Scraped asbestos containing popcorn from about 1500sf of ceilings. Installed incredible amounts of plastic for containment. Multiple layers on floors and walls. Used a pump and HEPA filter to negatively pressurize the entire space while they worked. All the popcorn scraped off, along with the water used, and the plastic that was used to create the containment is stored in sealed and labelled containers and taken offsite to specially permitted disposal areas. When the work is completed an independent company comes to take air samples and certify the air quality before the team removed the final layer of containment and leaves the premises. Everything is permitted by DEQ.

They did a very good job removing the lead paint from the floors and removing the vinyl tiles. The place was sealed in plastic and the paint was removed chemically with appropriate safety protocols (negative air pressure etc). We were satisfied with the quality of the job and the same can be said of the asbestos tape removal. Sid Carter the owner was professional, prompt and did the job as specified. Unfortunately when the job was finished he removed the plastic wrap off the walls and the painters tape pulled off a bunch of paint from the walls in what was to become my daughter's bedroom. The room was left with lead paint flakes on the floor and other fragments falling/cracking off the wall. In addition the finish on some of the doors was damaged by this same tape. We were not told about this, and when Sid was contacted he offered to take $50 off the bill and told us it would be no big deal to repaint it. We deducted $164 off the bill for the cost of someone else to come in and clean up/paint over cracked and peeling lead paint. I was really disappointed that they did such a good job only to be so cavalier about leaving a load of flaking lead paint and debris in their wake. Their whole business is supposedly lead abatement. We spent a lot of money with them for a professional clean up job. In my line of work if I make a mistake I own it and make it right- This company did neither.
Description of Work: We purchased an old 1909 farmhouse which needed some abatement work prior to move in. We had the lead based paint removed from 3 upstairs rooms. The paint was covering the original fir flooring. They also removed some vinyl tiles and non-lead based finish covering the floor in the upstairs hallway along with vinyl floor treads going up the stairs. They tested the vinyl and concluded it had no asbestos in it. Total cost $3875 The second part of the job was removal and disposal of asbestos duct seam tape and wrap in the basement. They also re-wraped the duct seems. Total Cost $1800.

I was satisfied with their work. They were the lowest bid and they would actually remove the tape instead of encapsulating it. I have not actually looked at the work in my crawlspace. They were a little late in getting to my house for one of the first appointments.
Description of Work: I used Minority Abatement Contractors to remove 15 linear feet of asbestos tape in my crawlspace.
