Not Well, disappointed.
Description of Work: Furnace stopped working on one of the coldest days of the year. I called late on a Thursday and received a call back from a technician. After hearing about my furnace and problem the technician didn't feel he could do anything for me that night, but assured me I would get a call back in the morning. I thought this was reasonable and got out the electric blankets. The next morning I got no call, so I call them. I was told that the scheduler was "going through the overnight calls" and was tied up. I tried to explain that I was one of those overnight calls. She assured me that if that were the case she would be calling me right back, goodbye. No call was ever received. Fortunately I found someone else to resolve my heating issue.

Description of Work: They came out and pulled out old an old heat pump system and put in a HVAC system. It went very well. I had a really bad experience with another company that we were originally working with for this and couldn't seem to get them to get the work done. We called Miller's Heating & Air and they came right out within 24 hours to look at our system that had been down for 3 weeks while the other company was working on it. They looked at the system, made sure they had the new system in stock, scheduled the installation for the very next day and came back out on time and it went flawlessly. The customer service was excellent and they took care of me.

Description of Work: We had a technician come in December to check the unit in our bedroom because it was noisy. He said it would be a couple of weeks to get the part. |After three weeks I called the office. They knew nothing so said the technician would get back to us. He never called. We have called several times. We have been told that he called us and left a message--he did not. |We have been told the part was back ordered, then that the wrong part had been sent. We are still waiting. . .

The salesman showed up at my door tonight, unannounced, at dinner time, wanting to know if I was available. No call ahead to see if he could drop by. This after I'd already said he could get back to me in a week after I'd met with estimators from other companies and had time to sort through competing bids. I don't appreciate high pressure tactics. For comparable systems, their bid was the most expensive.
Description of Work: After some cross-checking the Clark Public Utilities contractor list with Angie's List, I set up times with several contractors for estimates on the installation of a ductless heat-pump system. Miller's sent out a salesman who spent very little time discussing the technical aspects of the system and how they could meet my needs (unlike the estimators from the other contractors) and instead spent a great deal of time selling how his company was the best. He whiffed on some of the technical questions I asked (and already knew the answers for). Both I and my girlfriend have spent time in sales and recognized his attempts to close during the presentation. After visiting the home of a MiIler's customer to see the installation, the salesman asked again what he could do that day to get our business. It felt like a health club or time share presentation. It was difficult to get him to accept that all I wanted was an estimate, not a commitment at this time.

Signed contract on 3/24 installation set for 3/27. Arrived on time for installation, duct work and new wiring took close to 7 hours. Crew did a very good job every trip into the house they put on shoe covers they had to do this many times even after I told them they didnt have to use the covers for frequent trips but they still did. They showed me how to use the new thermostat and cleaned up all work areas. Had problems with new thermostat readings called 3/28 they had a tech out on 3/29 he found a wiring problem and made corrections.
Description of Work: Had a heat pump installed to give home a/c new system set up as a hybrid will heat with either gas or electricity. Requested bids from 5 companies went with One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning ( Lennox). They had the most inclusive bid that included enlarging all air intakes and re-sealing all ducts their price included service agreement and 10 yr warranty parts and labor. They also offered a $1,000 rebate that is not reflected in the $4,500 system price.

They were right on time and were very clean, and they were careful to cover their shoes in the house. They did a good job all around. I have a maintenance agreement so there was just an 80 dollar service charge.
