We never performed any work for this customer or at this address. They must have us confused with another company. We have no record of this member ever calling or emailing us for a bid.

Description of Work: Replaced the T-11 siding on one side of my house with Hardiplank siding and painted new siding to match rest of house. From estimating to payment, everyone at the company was easy to deal with. I was especially impressed with the siding and paint crews: No blaring music, no loud talking. Focused on the work. Very professional. |The siding work was done in one day (as estimated). The painting was done in two hours.

Description of Work: Contractor was to show up at 5PM but showed up at 5:45PM After showing the work I needed done I was told a quote would be worked up. I did not get a quote and was told the job of completly replacing my trim was to small. Seems that anything under 3K is to small. Wast of my time.

Project was done during summer prime roofing season. Lifetime offered excellent materials and was able to suggest the best solutions for our roofing needs and redo venting system to code. Company was thorough in answering our questions and explaining things - a main reason we choose them even though they were not the cheapest (mid-range).

I am a perfectionist with high expections. That's why I typically do things myself. However, this job was just too big for me to handle. Quality is my #1 priority. I also want a good value. I must say that Lifetime Exteriors ticked these boxes and more. From the initial contact with General Manager Bo Singleton to the completion of the job I was extremely pleased. The attention to detail and quality of workmanship were exceptional. The work crew was prompt, courteous, and professional throughout the process. I would difinitely use Lifetime again and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

It was a good experience. Bo came out, arrived on time, was very knowledgeable and professional. He wasn't pushy at all and didn't push a single product, even though they are one of seven Oregon companies that are a James Hardie preferred installer. He listened intently to what my wife and I wanted and provided some suggestions. Overall he had a good presentation and was very informative. We got bids from about 5 or 6 installers and unfortunately Life-time exteriors was the highest. The next available time slot was in December, which was the answer from all the installers we talked to. One difference though, was that other installers provided a price break because it was off season. I had expected a lower price on the estimate because our house is relatively small (1500 sq of surface area over 1.5 stories), doesn't have complicated curves, literally is 4 sides, etc. In reading their reviews on here, it seemed others had a lot more done (including windows, doors, decks, etc) for less money. So that was pretty disappointing. we would have loved to go with them but they were roughly 4,000 more than the company we went with who is a multiple year Angie's List super service award winner list and used to be James Hardie preferred installer (until Hardie changed the requirements and now requires more color plus siding installs instead of just the regular hardi plank). Bo was top notch and I suspect they are great installers. just were a tad high for us considering the other bids with highly qualified and rated companies.

We had seen or spoken to several siding contractors before hiring Lifetime Exteriors. The representative (Jay) was professional, complained clearing the options we had and the costs involved. All work was completed as he described to us in November and December of 2012. The crew installing the siding and completing other exterior work and the painting crew were professional and arrived when they had indicated and cleaned up each day before they left. There were a couple exterior jobs (taking down an old satellite dish and repairing the roof where it had been located with some shingles we had and putting up another down spout with materials we had already purchased) that were also done by the foreman of the siding crew at no extra charge to us. We are very happy with the new exterior of our house and have received several complements on the house's exterior.
Description of Work: Lifetime Exteriors installed primed fiber cement siding, painted the exterior and did some additional work to the exterior of the house.

We decided that we wanted to replace our siding with Hardie. We had been in contact with a couple other companies but were not comfortable with the experience. There was a house down the road from us that LifeTime had done so we decided to call to set up an appointment. Jay arrived at our appointment on time and prepared. He reviewed our requests and actually quoted us on the spot. Work started the following Monday. The guys onsite were friendly and professional. And the quality of work was excellent! The job was completed on time and within the quoted price. Overall we are very happy with the results and would recommend LifeTime to anyone who's looking for a reliable company.

Overall, it was done right and professionally. Read the contract carefully and ask lots of questions. My review aligns with the majority of other reviews and is favorable. Thanks to Angie's List, where I got the referral!
Description of Work: On this job, the house (built in 1924 in NE Portland) stucco siding had cracks and areas opened that allowed the wet weather to rot some of the underneath wood structures. Life Time Exteriors removed entirely the whole house stucco and replaced some rotten under-boards in the sunroom, then TevDek and Hardy plank was applied and a subcontracted painter finished. They also included the detached garage. The 2012 job started in April and ended in July. They were professional, tidy, and the crew was excellent. Part of the contract was that I allow them to advertise their company's work on the property for 90 days from the first day they started. What I didn't expect was a huge banner on the corner after they had installed 2 smaller signs with flyers on each corner of the city lot. I allowed the banner for a long 2 weeks but removed that one myself. I thought they were excellent at the work completed. If they have the same crew that did the siding work l will hire them again when the roof needs replaced in the next couple of years.

Description of Work: Lifetime Exteriors replaced some siding and the front stairs to my house. The original set of stairs was poorly constructed (by the original home builder) and allowed moisture, followed by mold and mildew to penetrate the walls. I had to have the whole thing replaced.

Lifetime Exteriors is one of those contractors who will work to address any issues until a customer is happy. My project was a complex commercial renovation with many interlocking systems (roofing, siding, structural/sheeting, awning, dry rot repair), and we did run into some issues on the way. This is very normal for a project of this complexity. Lifetime Exteriors were good to us: they worked until we were satisfied. The project ended up looking very good. They care about their customers and their reputation.
Description of Work: I accepted Lifetime Exteriors' bid to replace siding on my small commercial building. They removed existing failed (LP) siding, did some dry root sheeting replacement, and added new hardi siding.

Lifetime Exteriors came out to give me an extimate on replacing my windows. The salesman was on time and very nice. The quote took longer than I expected and was delivered by a phone call. The cost came in at $42,000 to replace 24 windows. I asked for everything in writing and I am still waiting. It has been 1 month and still no word. Follow up is everything. I guess they really don't need the business.

Response from Lifetime Exteriors
Well I am not sure where to start as I cannot believe Angie's List allows people to place reviews with companies when NO WORK WAS PERFORMED! So that being said, how does one come up with a D for overall when 3 B's were given? When I was in school , if you were given three B's on tests you were given a B for your overall grade, not a D. With all the resources Angie's list has you would think they could develop a program that did the math so the appropriate final grade was given. But to address the review more specifically this member stated that the salesman was on time and nice (Again why the "D" review then?) then stated that the quote took longer than expected. Well what happened was after the first initial meeting, the salesman went to the office to work on numbers, then when he tried to set up a time to come give a presentation to discuss different brands and styles of windows, and their respective costs. The member said this was something they were going to wait till next year to do but the Mrs was confused as she had gotten prices from other companies somewhere between $12,000 and $48,000, which our salesman said with all the different possibilities of brands and styles of windows that sounded like a reasonable variance but NEVER, has our company given a quote over the phone. Not even one time. As any good contractor knows if you say any number ever, the potential customer will hold them to that. This is why we give presentations with written proposals in person, or when requested via email. This customer was never given a quote over the phone and wasn't given an exact quote in writing as they said it wasn't happening this year and we were not able to give a presentation to properly and honestly price the project. We feel as a local small business, Angie's list is a great resource for homeowners for reviews, if work was actually performed. Lifetime Exteriors has nothing but excellent reviews from ANY client or member we have done work for. This should be the resource homeowners should get. Either way, NO work was performed, and maybe someday soon Angies list can clean up, and hold their own review system accountable. It appears that any friend, family member, close associate, etc. can post negative reviews against any business, or positive for certain businesses, as we know of a competitor where this appears to be true, and there is very minimal verification. That is why if work WAS performed, we have real standing on all reviews.

Response from Lifetime Exteriors
My operations manager and myself went out to see Member at the end of last year. After what we felt was a short and sweet introduction and quick overview of what he was looking to have done Member specifically said “We aren’t doing anything until summer, please get back in touch at that time.” Whenever we get a request like that we give a window of cost that usually is higher than the final bid because all of us as consumers tend to remember the lower end of an estimate. We also put a reminder into our calendars to notify us via email when to re-connect with the homeowner. When we were told “Come back in Summer” that means sometime in July, not mid-May. We are sorry for any misunderstanding but we listen to our potential customers and respect all their requests. If Member would have simply called and said “We are ready to discuss more details a little earlier than expected” or “weren’t you supposed to get us more information?” he would have gotten a response within 1 business day just like every person who has ever called our company. As one of the owners I find it appalling that Angie’s List allows people to post about any company in any capacity when NO WORK was performed, and it’s absolutely ludicrous to give us a “D” on our cost when NO “BID” was ever given. An “F” on responsiveness is completely unjust, even if he assumed we would be in touch sooner than he requested, I will guarantee we responded to his call initially within 1 business day. Then we get 2 “B” grades for punctuality and professionalism. Those “B” grades should be “A” since we were only asked out once and we were on time, courteous, and we are always professional. Angie’s List should require a specific explanation for any grades given less than an A for each category to better assist all of us business owners to accurately gauge when and where we may fall short. What would stop somebody from simply posting negative comments about a competitor when no verification or follow up is done from inside Angie’s List itself? We are all human and we rarely make mistakes, but when we at Lifetime Exteriors miss the bar we OWN it, we LEARN from it, we IMPROVE upon it and most importantly we ALWAYS make it right with every customer because that’s what makes us a better business and better individuals. All that being said we understand that a customers perception is our reality and we would like to simply wish Member all the best and hopefully whomever he has do the work will make him a satisfied customer.

We interviewed 4companies when we found that our house needed new siding as well as paint. The salesman for Lifetime Exteriors was prompt, professional and knowledgeable and the price was more inclusive than the other companies we had interviewed. The work was done beautifully and on time. All workmen on the job were courteous and easy to communicate with. We would recommend this company to others without reservation

After using Lifetime Exteriors for some remodeling work in the fall I called them when I found shingle tabs in my yard after the winds of January and February. Russ went by that day and called me with an estimate. He said they could have the supplies delivered within two days and be finished two days later. My insurance company sent an appraiser out to look at it and his costs were in sync. I gave Russ the go ahead. Two days later, Thursday, I arrived home and supplies had been delivered and Dave had half the garage done. He told me he would be finished on Friday (overlay not tearoff). I came home around noon on Friday and the garage was done and the west side of the house was almost finished. By 5pm he was cleaning up, outstanding on that by the way. Russ came by to check the work. I spotted a piece of metal strip that was sticking out and Dave jumped on the roof and took care of it. Dave needed a few more screws to finish reinstalling the skylights, which were removed to insure shingles were installed around them correctly, and stopped by on Saturday to finish that. Let me know he was there before I heard him on the roof, did the work and left quietly. Russ had called me on Thursday night to let me know the skylights were going to be removed and that I might want to cover anything I didn't want debris falling onto. Since they are in the bathrooms I wasn't worried and didn't even notice anything out of the ordinary when they were done.
Description of Work: New roofing (overlay) with lifetime guarantee that is transferable on sale. New drip edge, flashing, vents. Shingles used were algae resistant for 10 year. Comes with automatic inspection first five years, inspection on my request for next five years. They follow manufactures installation specs of underlayment and 5 (not the standard 3) nails per shingle. Since it had been raining used an algaecide on existing roof before beginning. Checked for soft spots in sheathing.

Wow, Wow, Wow and OMG! I got three bids on this work and they were in the middle. One was more than double this one! I got the feeling that I would get what I wanted, how I wanted it, from my first meeting with Russ. Don't let the name fool you they do interior work also. Most of the jobs were straight forward. A couple were kind of unique and one was totally out there. The two man crew that did the work was outstanding as was the electrician they had come in to do a small part of it. Russ kept me informed of the timeline for the work to start. I came home the first day to find the fence posts in, the next day the fence completed and the third day the deck done. I took two days off from work to be home when the interior work started, after that gave them a key to use to finish up. The first day they put in the wall, next day cut out and installed the door and window, third day started the closet remodel and when I came home on the fourth day they were done. Russ had stopped in the first day of the interior work and came back two days after they finished to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction and return the key. Everything was cleaned as they went, never a mess. The electrician that came to do the rewiring around the door was excellent (I'll be using him to do some more work for me). The sprinkler system had been installed directly on the property line and they moved it out of the way to install the fence. I wanted a "barn door" in the garage wall and it took some time to locate (don't believe what they say in the remodel shows that they are readily available!) but they did and it is perfect. The light, view and access to my large backyard from the two back rooms is great. It really transformed the rooms. I had a large hall closet that was wasted space and no storage in the master bath. I had them split the closet in half and that in half again putting an opening in the master bath. I still have to finish up the closets but the storage in the master bath will be great...I will be able to move out of the guest bath! And I still have enough storage in the hall for what needs to go there. Having a mix of shallow and deep shelves will mean that small items don't get lost in the back. Overall I am VERY pleased and would use Lifetime Exteriors again.

They were actually one of my lower bids. I wasn’t comfortable with the salesman that I was working with and therefore I didn’t go with them. The one meeting that I had, they were pretty punctual. My fiance and I knew some of the house had to be re-sided. There was obvious dry rot in areas. A salesman from Lifetime Exteriors was in the neighborhood and we agreed to get an estimate. We also got bids from 2 other places. Lifetime Exteriors gave us a great initial price for re-siding the entire house and adding a sliding glass door off the master bedroom. Once we received the bid but before we sealed the deal, a representative from Lifetime Exteriors came to our house and spent at least an hour talking with us about the process of re-siding a house and also discussed the materials they would use. Not knowing a lot about siding it was very informative and the person very knowledgeable. He was able to answer questions and explained the process showing us samples of products they would use. We also discussed time frame. The house had to be done by July 30th because my fiance and I were getting married that day and the ceremony and reception was to be at our house. The guy said that would be no problem. He was very personable and understood the importance of the completion date. When we initially discussed the job we told the guy that we wanted to put in a sliding glass door off the master bedroom and eventually we would build a small deck off the master bedroom. A few days after the guy had come to our house and prior to signing a contract with Lifetime, the guy called saying they had just finished a deck job and had a bunch of leftover cedar and he could add a small deck to our project for a minimal amount of additional cost. He came out to the house and we discussed it and it was at that point we decided Lifetime Exteriors had our business. Contract signed. Work started and we were very impressed with the professionalism of the work crew. Very nice guys. Punctual. Each day they cleaned up their mess, took their tools and left the work site in great shape. They brought their own Honey Bucket so did not need access to the inside of the house. When they did need access to the house for framing in the door and working on the window they were clean, covered up furniture and tried to minimize the amount of dust/dirt as much as possible. Communication between us and the lead on the crew was great. When leaving messages they got back to us within a reasonable amount of time. All went as scheduled except the wrong size sliding glass door was initially brought out. The correct size was not in stock and had to be ordered which would take 2 weeks. There was still time before the July 30th deadline and they continued working and doing everything they could around where the door would be installed. That included putting in the extra window we decided we wanted after the work had already started. My fiance thought it would be nice to have a window added that faced the backyard so we asked if that was possible to add to the job. With an additional cost we had the window added. A couple of the guys worked over a weekend to make sure everything would get done on time. Included in the work done prior to the sliding glass door being added, the house was painted. The paint guy was great. We took the suggestion given to us which was to go to a store and get color samples/color wheels. Lifetime also supplied us with a color wheel. Once we came up with a few different colors the painters came out and put samples on the house. We narrowed it down, more samples put on the house and a final decision made for the house, trim and front door. We still had to make a decision about the gable. With some guidance from the painter we were able to make that final decision. The sliding glass door was put in, deck built and stained and final touch-up was done with house paint and the window and the project was completed. Once the final crew left there was very minimal mess for us to clean up. They did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. The wedding was held. We actually got married on our new deck. Family and friends who had seen the house before couldn't believe how great it looked. Everyone was impressed. This was the first major work I had ever had done on the house. I have heard horror stories about experiences people have had with remodel projects etc. done on their homes. No horror story here. We are very pleased with Lifetime Exteriors as well as each crew that worked on the house - siding crew, paint crew, and the deck crew. All were very pleasant to work with. I would hire them again and recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Re-sided the entire house. Window taken out and sliding glass door put in off of master bedroom along with a small deck built off the master bedroom. Additional window put in off guest bedroom. Entire house re-painted.
