Ideal Plumbing

Dave is a very nice man and eager to help in anyway he can. His prices are excellent for the work. I have never felt I received anything but a great deal from him compared to other plumbers I have worked with. He does sometimes get overextended and does not always follow up in a timely manner. But that is to be expected for a small plumbing company that will take any job, on any day, at any time if needed. He is willing to make payment plans if needed. He charges very reasonable rates for extra non plumbing labor work such as excavating an underground water shut-off valve prior to repair. He works very fast as well. I refer him regularly to friends and clients in need of trustworthy plumbing services.

Dave was very prompt and displayed the appropriate urgency level in obtaining urgent late night service. He handled the billing from the third party, and passed billed us at his cost for the service. We have used Rotorooter (a well known competitor) and have been charged much higher prices for less prompt service for late night/weekend service. Dave has done plumbing work for the mobile home park we manage and has always done the job quickly, recommended ways to save money, and underbid other competitors. we will continue to use and recommend iDeal plumbing in the future.

The owner could not have been nicer and they did a good job with everything but the recirculating pump. When I met Dave I told him that it takes a very long time to get hot water to the kitchen and that I was considering installing a tankless just for the down stairs. He inspected what I had and let me know that we had lines for a recirculating pump but not the pump itself. He described that the recirculating pump would continuisly circulate hot water throughout the house so there would be no waiting for hot water anywhere within the house. He told me the approximate cost of the pump and what he would charge to install it. That sounded good to me so scheduled to have him do that and the other aforementioned tasks. He had one of his employees install the recirculating pump while he worked on the other tasks. After the recirculating pump was installed I was informed that an electrician would need to come out and run electricity to the pump (they did not tell me that up front). The technician did say that he would leave the valve open so water would flow through the pump and so when the electrician wired it up there would be nothing else for me to do. A couple of hours later I noticed that I no longer had hot water but only slightly warm. I call the owner and told him of the situation and he said he would have Chris drop by shortly and have a look at it. Chris finally showed up about 2 hours later. He didn't know what the problem was but said he would turn off the flow of water through the pump and once the electrician wired it up we would see if it worked correctly. After the plumber came and wired up the pump and the water was turned back on I still had the same problem of only warm water. Again I called the owner and he said he would have Chris come by that day to look at it. Chris never came by and of course I called the owner and he apologized and said he would contact Chris and have him come by the next day. I didn't see Chris for a few days and when he showed up he still didn't know what the problem was but promised to contact the manufacturer and ask them about what might be causing the problem. A few days later while working another job across the street Chris came by and said that the pump was not mounted correctly. After looking at it for a few minutes he made the determination that he would need his cutting torch but he didn't have it with him so would need to come by the next day. I have not seen or heard from him or the owner since.
