Phil and his two men did an outstanding job of perfectly installing our fence, listening to what we wanted and getting it done relatively quickly. Excellent cleanup and very positive, friendly attitude. High quality construction.

Excellent service and work

I saw the Husky Fence ad on Craigslist, then checked out the website and reviews. I contacted Phil for suggestions & an estimate, and spoke with 4 other companies as well. I liked that he emphasized ranch and utilitarian fencing, and had photos of many kinds of fences at various price points and various configurations, not just the fancy stuff. We handled everything by phone & emailed photos, and he fit me into his schedule that week. I ended up with a reinforced wire fence with wood stringers, absolutely dog-escape-proof with some of the wire buried in the ground where terrain dictated. The fence is beautiful, top quality pressure-treated wood w/ a nice color to it (not bright red cedar stain). They were so careful when working around my mature trees, skirted the sides and didn't mar the bark. They hauled away all of the old fencing, plus some additional material. They even discovered and rescued an old bird house and remounted it on the new fence instead of trashing it. Courteous, friendly, and so kind to my escape-artist dog. Phil adjusted his schedule and arrivals from Vancouver to meet my work day, worked quickly and was just plain easy to do business with. The fence was done in two short work days (time for cement posts to dry), and I was even offered (and accepted) a Senior Discount. Minimal or no charge to travel from Vancouver, price better than local companies. The work site completely cleaned up, nothing left for me to do or pick up. I would have them back in an instant, in my home or for more fencing.

UPDATE 3/17/2013. So, I mistakenly thought the rails on my cedar fence were not treated. Phil was kind enough to write to me and assure me they are cedar and will last just as long as the rest of the fence. I'm sorry, Phil! I should have just asked you while you were here. Everything else I said about Phil and Husky Fence stands: great guy; great work; highly recommended. Below is my original review. ----------- Phil is a pleasure to work with. He's punctual, a good communicator and will work with you to give you the fence you want. His prices are really competitive, and the finished product is quite nice. The fence went up quick! One day to dig and set the posts. Another day 1 week later to build the fence. One thing I would say - and this isn't a negative but is something to consider - is to discuss the materials in detail prior to starting work. It appears that the cross beams used to make my cedar fence are not treated lumber, but some sort of raw board. They won't last in our weather unless I treat them after the fact. This is okay in my case, because I plan to stain/seal the cedar anyway so it was going to happen regardless. But if you intend to let the cedar weather, a part of this fence would wear out LONG before the other part. Best to just have a chat up front about materials. Quality of the craftsmanship is high. The gates are perfect, everything is plumb and level. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend Husky Fence. Thank you, Phil!

I called Husky Fence for an estimate on a custom cedar fence installed in my front yard. Husky was the last of 4 companies I had called for an estimate on the same fence. The first estimate was about $3500, the second was $3175, the third was $4619 (this was a landscaping business). Husky came back with an estimate of $2254, and he honored the 5% discount from Angie's List. Phil who is the owner is very punctual, a great communicator, and super personable. I felt comfortable asking him for his opinion, and I also noticed he is very detail oriented. When I showed him the picture of what I was hoping for, he picked up on some details right away and commented on them to make sure he understood what I wanted. None of the other contractors had really seemed to pay that much attention. I really liked Phil from the get go, he made me feel like he wanted to build a fence I would love. From the time Phil came to give me an estimate to the time the job was complete was a couple weeks. The job took about day and half. The first day was spent setting the posts (which was backbreaking because my yard is mostly rocks). Each day the crew cleaned up very nicely. I expected my yard to get somewhat torn up, but they did an amazing job and didn't disrupt any of the grass or flower beds. The fence is beautiful! It looks exactly as I had hoped, actually better! To sum it up, I couldn't be happier! They went above and beyond!

The service turned out well. They did what they said they were going to do. I had no problems.

Phil arrived on time for an estimate. Discussed style of fence and materials etc.I scheduled the job while he was there. I had other quotes. He was more competitive than some and very close to another.I liked the way he presented his work. I felt he would stick to his word. He did.They crew arrived on time the first day and completed the job the second day as planned.
