Estimated cost was out of our budget for a storm door. However we very impressed with Mike Flood the estimator who answered all of our questions and provided a quote on the spot.

Fabulous customer service, no pressure, and great installation – that is how we summarize our experience with Henderson and Daughter. Like many folks we wanted three quote for our small project. We got the feeling that our need was not large enough for most to be bothered. One company took a very long time to respond with a quote and then zero follow up and the other, never even bothered to quote. Once we reached out the Henderson and Daughter we knew we found the right place for us. Thea Cutsforth, our representative, was extremely responsive and throughout the entire process; and when we put the job on hold for a few weeks there was no pressure. She was extremely helpful and patient as we looked at all the options (we thought we were prepared 😊). They have a great selection from which to choose. Every phone call to the office (not many) was greeted by their professional and courteous staff. The actual install went great (we think his name was Shawn). He demonstrated a commitment to doing a quality job and made sure very thing was done right! We are delighted with not only the end result, but entire process. We highly recommend Henderson and Daughter and will definitely work with them again.

What a professional operation Henderson and Daughter is! We had to reschedule a couple of times - once because of them, once because of me -but the office was great about staying touch with me on the scheduling issues. The installers finally came last week and the doors are beautiful. It took longer than expected because they found some dry rot and some unstable areas that they shored up for me. They were never impatient or frustrated, great bunch of people. They (four installers) basically spent the whole day on my one little project. I would hire them again in an instant.

I love the ease of sliding, the custom color (white on the inside and brown on the outside, the quality of the window....they are energy efficient (keep the house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer) They look awesome.

Very well. The quality of the door and the installation were first rate. The company sent out someone to verify the initial measurement and the molding to be installed. I appreciated the fact that after the job was completed they follow-up to ensure that I was happy with the results and to ask if I had any questions.

These guys are the cream of the crop! They all went above and beyond my expectations from the beginning to end. We had 2 new doors replaced on our old North Portland home. We never felt rushed and they were always honest and up front about everything! We even had the bank they use for financing call us and ask if we were satisfied! Great company and our doors are locally made and look great!

It was practically perfect. Wendy initially came out to view the situation, make suggestions, and managed the bid process. All the communication with her was excellent. She was very helpful in assisting me trying to decide how to fill that large space. I knew I didn't want two ugly windows, like I'd had, but it took a lot playing around with drawing and different configurations to come up with just what I wanted. She helped every step of the way. I noticed her attention to detail and how things looked was much greater than the other contractors who provided bids, who were all male. In this instance, the "woman's touch" was much more helpful and useful. The bid price itself was the highest of the three final bidders - $5,145. That figure is about $300 or 7% higher than the second bidder and about $800 or 18% higher than the lowest bidder. As a careful customer concerned about quality and price, I can say that it was worth every extra penny. The installation was done by a small crew of Shane and one assistant. Shane runs a small door and window installation company that subcontracts with Henderson & Daughter and has been doing so for decades. Shane is an absolute master in the craft of window installation. Everything was done on time, as scheduled, and was finished and cleaned up extremely well. Shane himself is very personable, affable, and will explain everything and anything he's doing that you might be curious about. He works patiently, very carefully, and no corners are cut. This was a professional, thorough, and masterful job. I am highly confidant these windows will last for many, many years and that they will never leak. Truly a superior job. The windows look wonderful, both on the inside and outside. See photos. Excuse the state of the eave, which will be painted, and the siding, which is going to be replaced. The first picture shows the whole window, the second a close-up of one of the side vents or single-hungs, and the third detail of the lower left corner showing how well the trim is placed, with the seams caulked, and the nail holes filled. This was a big job, yet the smallest details were taken care of. Every screw and nail hole made was gone over and filled. The trim was completely replaced on the inside and out and looks excellent. All around, again on the inside and outside, every seam was carefully caulked and sealed. This was a five-star job and I recommend Henderson & Daughter, and in particular Shane for installation, as the company to go to for new or replacement windows and doors.

Excellent. No muss no fuss. I called, they came for measurements (twice) 2 different people, then came in expected time and replaced Window hauling off all project Detritus and voila I was back in business. Real professionals!

The process began by Paul coming out and listening to what we wanted. He provided us with some options and left us with a catalog to brouse. When we decided on a door he came back out and made measurements and gave us a price. We then made a trip to the show room to look at locks and handles. . While there we saw a different glass for the door we liked better, so Paul changed the order to the new glass. The door was installed about a month later. The two fellows came out and worked from 9:30 til 7 pm. They were very conscientious about all the details. They were good about covering the work space and cleaning up afterwards. They were also quite pleasant and didn't mind answering questions and chatting while they worked. The door was beautiful when they finished. They also helped us carry the old doors over to our shop for storage. (old doors were very heavy!)

..these folks were Great..came out an extra time to make sure we were all on the same page as to the size of the vinyl surrounding the actual glass.

Debby was great! She is thorough, prompt, and goes the extra mile to be sure you will be happy with the final product. She doesn't brush over little details and was sure to point out important issues I might not have considered before deciding on a door. Also, the installers were friendly, punctual, and professional.

Very well. The door looks great and appears to be installed well. They arrived late due to another job so they ended my job later than i would have liked.

Everything went better than expected. We had great service and installation was on time and completed perfectly.

This is the third time we've both purchased and had those purchases installed with Henderson & Daughter. Four windows and a front door with a sliding screen door -- we'll continue to work with Henderson & Daughter until all windows and doors are replaced in our nearly 40-year old home. Wendy and her co-workers provide excellent service and the installation is done expertly, on-time and on budget. Their installation far exceeds the installation of new windows we had installed 20+ years ago when we first moved in -- there's no comparison. It is definitely well worth the cost.

Only glitches were some cables that were not reattached to building. These were fixed when the screens damaged during shipping were installed. Crew was professional and polite. Sales were low key and all staff contacts helpful and polite.

Paul came out with an estimate. He took me through the process and let me take my time with my decision- no pressure. Once we decided to go with them, the process was GREAT! Windows were ordered, once they came in we received a call to be put on the schedule a few weeks sooner than we expected which was WONDERFUL!! The installers came and took their time prepping the job site, doing the work, and cleaning up. The job was seamless!! The windows look and function AMAZINGLY! We can’t wait to have them out to replace windows as we can afford to proceed. THANK YOU!

There was a major snag...no need to go into details...I will just say that you would wish every salesman you have ever encountered, or ever will encounter, is Thea incarnate. Thea was not my sales person, but when the problem arose, I ended up speaking with he....She listened and visited me to understand the problem, then worked with and for me to come up with a resolution that was very fair. I received a beautiful product...had GREAT craftsmen install it (Joel) ..and a beautiful stain job(Paul) . Thea cared enough about this customer to turn a bad situation into a truly positive and memorable one and I couldn't be happier. Obviously i highly recommend the H&D team. It's great to find a company you can trust and have confidence in.

We met first with Wendy on each project. She listened to us, learned what we need and prefer, and had excellent ideas to suggest. Our projects were not too small for special attention. The installation teams were all timely, efficient, polite and communicated with us to work out details. On one project, we were concerned that the trim style around two doors and one piece of hardware was not what we had expected. The company quickly agreed and corrected both. We appreciate the fine work and wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

The whole process went very smoothly. Wendy came to our house to explain our options and measure; then a few weeks later we went to the showroom in Vancouver to see what the windows looked like. Wendy was very helpful, made suggestions, and gave us a timeline of what would happen and when. We got follow-up calls exactly when she said we'd get them. On the day of install, we were told what we needed to do prior to the team arriving (minimal on our part). The team of 3-4 people was courteous, friendly and professional. A supervisor was present for at least part of the process. The windows look great! The only thing I wish I had paid more attention to was the detail of the divided-light portion of the windows. They are shorter than the divided-light windows on the upper floor of our house. Probably no one will notice this, and it could be that the windows only came in that size option. That is a very small thing, but if it's important to you, make sure you measure any other windows that need to match. This was an oversight on my part--Wendy reviewed all the measurements with us; I just didn't think to compare them to windows on the upper floor of our house. We are very pleased with Henderson & Daughter and would definitely use them for future projects. Everyone we dealt with at the company made sure we got our questions answered--their communication and customer service are top notch. Thanks, Henderson & Daughter, for a job well done!

I met him on a Friday at my house. He promised me a quote by Sunday. He never sent me a quote. Two weeks later, same thing, he changed the design of my windows. He would have ordered a different window. He didn't get that far. Then argued with me about it. He did not send me the estimate at all until after the big blow up, which was weeks later.

The work went well. Everything was great from the first site visit and estimate through the installation. Communication was great with the office for scheduling installation and arranging for payment. On installation day the crew showed up as expected and got the job done efficiently. They were careful to remove and replace the siding around the door frame that needed to be moved for installation. When they were finished the site was cleaned up and all evidence of their presence was gone, well, except for the new door. This is the second time I've had work done with Henderson & Daughter and I would definitely hire them again.

It went really well. The estimator was on time, courteous and after hearing what type of door I wanted showed me the perfect solution. I received the quote when they said I would. He was also patient when I changed my mind on the color. The contractors were on time and they, too were courteous. They installed the door, replaced the trim and left the area clean. The office staff made sure my energy credit form was filled out correctly and mailed it in for me. I am very happy with the experience and would use Henderson & Daughter again.

The work was done well and in a timely manner. They scheduled me sooner than normal as I was going to have surgery and needed a door that I could open easily. My only gripe was with the price. I think their mark up on the door was out of line.

They were excellent. They are a very good company. They were on time. They were on budget. They were very pleasant to deal with and excellent follow up.
