Henderson & Daughter

The Millard door is very attractive and works well. The installer did a very good job. Our concerns: It is odd that Henderson doesn't finish the wood trim, given the price of the job and the fact that many homeowners wouldn't have the necessary skills. We were not told that the door could have been delivered to us in advance, so we could finish it before installation. Now we have to remove the slider to apply conditioner, stain and polyurethane. After the company's first visit to our home, estimates on several door options were promised within a couple days. After several weeks and a phone call, we went to the showroom to get the estimates. When we arrived, no estimates had been prepared. In addition, although the estimator had measured, someone else had to come out to redo the measurements. 4. We ordered a door with an exterior lock. The door as installed does not have an exterior lock. We decided to just live with it rather than having the company come out again.

I have worked with them before. They are a local company which is important to me.

The experience was seamless from beginning to end. I received a quote from Keith in the office, and Kevin did the work. Keith was very professional and quite a delight to talk to. He worked with my work schedule, so I did not have to miss any work, and he kept me informed of how our window order was coming and when we could expect installation. Kevin arrived on time to replace the window and was very professional and courteous as well. We are EXTREMELY pleased with how this company is run.

We had Ken Nyssen work with us as the sales rep and Russ's installation team. All were top notch and went way beyond anticipated to work with us. Installation week began with the coldest and snowiest week Vancouver has seen in a few years. The new windows were Milgards Classic High Performance Super Space, argon filled series with the front facing, 8 windows containing the bordering grid. We love the windows, appearances and work performed. The only finishing work not contracted for is the top coat painting of the wood work out and inside.

Everyone from Sanya (sales) was fantastic, she knew her job and had a good idea of what I wanted. The crew (Ross, Shane, Josh and Brian) They were great workers, friendly, they did a great job, and cleaned up. Ross the foreman, he always told me what he was going to do and always told me before he did it. They did it within the time frame. I had a couple of defective windows and they made sure those were replaced.

Only time will tell if there is no leaking, but the whole crew seemed very confident that the problem has been resolved. My best advice to anyone: hire from the get-go people who do a particular job for a living. In the long run, you will come out ahead. Kudos to Henderson and Daughter!!

They did a great job. We had a problem with one of the windows which they came out and fixed for no extra charge.

They did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves well. They're coming back out to finish a couple of things and they put a rush order on everything because they were off a bit on their measurement. I'd recommend them to everyone!

Great. The initial consult with Wendy was extremely helpful. Scheduling was convenient, they were very professional and prompt, and the final project is absolutely perfect-- I wish I had done it months ago. A bit more expensive than some of the other estimates, but money well spent.

GREAT! The sales rep was honest and gave me all details. The window installer was a nice quiet guy who installed the windows quickly, quietly and efficiently. I plan to have this company replace the rest of my drafty wood windows as soon as I have the money.

Chose this company because their estimator told me I could replace the existing storm door with both a standard door and a new storm door (what I had wanted to do), even though another company had told me it was impossible. When another person came to make the actual measurements, he agreed with the first person that they could put both doors at the bottom of the stairs. Later when the installer came, he said there was no way that could be done, and called the office. After some conferences it was determined that only the storm door would be installed then. Later that day Debbie, representing the company came to look at the job, and we eventually agreed that a new door would replace the existing one at the top of the stairs instead of at the bottom. It took another 2-3 weeks to complete that portion of the job. When everything finally got done, the results were very satisfactory.

Punctual, friendly, and professional. She gave a good history of the company and products, although this was a little too touchy-feely for me. I want to know the specs. Quote was competitive, although it was not crystal clear exactly what was included in the job in terms of how the windows would be installed. Also, one of our windows, I would find out from someone else, needed to be tempered to meet code, and I don't believe she addressed that. I have no complaints, nor can I say that I wouldn't go with them in the future. At this time we are going to explore going through the general contracter that we are hiring for a larger renovation.

Wendy came out to measure and present the types of windows available. She had some good ideas to unify the look of the exterior, adding some grids, and changing a single-hung bathroom window to a casement. The installation was delayed because the storm door didn't arrive as quickly as the windows. The work crew showed up promptly when the project did start and were careful about putting down drop cloths and cleaning up every evening. Jeff, Kevin and Kenny were a terrific installation crew.

H&D did a terrific job! The installer showed up on time, was on task all day, and did great work. At the end, he even shop vacuumed the floors under the windows and reinstalled my blinds. The windows look fabulous, and the service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend Henderson and Daughter!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I have no doubt the work would've been done to my satisfaction and ease. However, the company sells Milgard and only Milgard windows, and I wasn't sold on the actual product. The price for this brand of window through this company was nearly twice as much as the company I went with (Window World). I also wasn't sold on the fear-based selling campaign. Both Wendy and in-store Cindy were very clear that Milgard is of higher quality as compared to other, lesser brands. Also, H&D uses in-house installers (as do other companies). In the end, the price wasn't right, and I wasn't so psyched on the window mechanics themselves anyway.

The salesperson spent extra time in explaining options. We were trying to simulate the ''look'' of the original windows and the salesperson came up with an idea that we liked. The windows were installed expertly and on time. The only issue was that one window was ordered with the wrong dimensions and installation was delayed one month for the single window. The company was not the lowest price bidder but we would not hesitate to use them again.

Wendy (sales) was awesome. She came to our house, did a great presentation, then helped us crunch the numbers to get the price we wanted. Our first disappointment came when the installer arrived. We were told the storm door was still on order. This wasn't really a problem, but it would have been nice if the information had been communicated earlier. It took several weeks longer than expected to get the door. We had to make a lot of phone calls to keep up with the process, and that was a little frustrating considering we had paid our bill in full. Also, we were assured a follow-up inspection. When it didn't happen after a few weeks, we made another series of phone calls. Finally the GM came out. He took care of most of our concerns (all minor) and sent an installer to handle the rest. Our only lasting complaint: a piece of trim the GM said would be replaced was patched instead. H&D did a good job but should remember customers are spending a lot of money. A little TLC goes a long way.

They were incredibly prompt and very responsive to my needs. In fact, the windows were available for install a good two weeks earlier than projected. The installation was very quick and efficient, and the installer was excellent about cleaning up after himself. I think the price was a bit more than some companies, but it was offset by the fact that I got exactly what I wanted in a very timely and high quality manner.

I live in a modest, 10-unit row-house association in Central City Portland developed by the original unit owners in 1979. Former President Jimmy Carter attended an opening ceremony because the goals included neighborhood revitalization, livable "density," energy efficiency and modest consumption of building materials, etc. When, 20+ years later, the original windows began to fail and leak, replacement was a major decision. We spent two years agonizing over the expense and another year gathering estimates and interviewing various contractors and approaches. Henderson and Daughter weren't the least expensive bid we received but there was little debate about the reasons to choose them. They installed the windows in half of our units during the winter and the other half in the early Spring. Each owner was impressed with the caliber and professionalism of every person involved and we could not be more pleased. Heating and cooling bills are dramatically improved and our homes look great!

Salesperson was patient and helpful. We took bids from four different companies, and this one seemed the best value. All work was done in less than a full day, in a neat and professional manner. My only complaint, and a minor one, is that no one from the company made a follow-up call, even though we were told to expect one.

It started with a very creative saleswoman, who took my very loose vision and created the perfect design. I didn't want windows like every other house in the neighborhood. She considered our budget in the process, but showed me options. I actually took her design work (not pricing) out for 2 other bids, and while she/they wasn't/weren't the least expensive, they got the order. We were very methodical in the bidding process, and it took us about 6 months to decide, but they were never pushy. The product arrived as promised (even a little ahead of schedule) and the installers were prompt, very professional, & neat. We have one more window to convert to a door, and we have hired them for this as well.

We went with Henderson and Daughter because they had been completely reliable and responsive through the process. No other company came close to their level of service. Debbie is the owner and a consumate sales person and went out of her way to make sure we were informed and comfortable every step of the way. The windows were flawless with very few warranty details that were attended to immediately. Our house is older and there was a fair amount of customization to intall the windows and doors - they look terrific. We found H&D to be responsive, reliable, hardworking and good on their word.

Russ and his crew did the work and were SO polite and responsive. Wendy McVicker was the sales woman and estimator and she, too, was responsive and knew so much about windows. By the end of this project, I felt we were all one team with the common goal of creating beautiful windows in my historic home. Mission accomplished! Overall, during the estimate and recommendation period, Wendy really was practical while also recommending just what we wanted. She knew her product lines really well and at the last minute, when we needed to add a sliding patio door to the order, she came same day, measured and wrote an addendum to the order. We feel so taken care of by Henderson and Daughter. Every person we dealt with was great to work with.

The two gentlemen were on time, very polite, and the price was very competitive. In fact, the estimator is coming out next week to give me a quote on the three other windows in my bedroom.

This is a well organized company whose employees are professional and fast.
