Henderson & Daughter

I looked around a lot before I chose them. I went on their site and was very impressed and that is why I decided to use them for this project. The people who work for them were wonderful. They were willing to negotiate on the price which was really nice. The person who came out to our house answered all my questions, never complained about anything and spent a lot of time with me.

This was a great experience. The salesperson came and discussed options for style and materials and she gave us a real education about the different materials and considerations. We had communication via email as well. We went to the showroom to see the product line and selected the door we wanted. It took about 6 weeks for the door to be ready. They were on time for every appointment and came as scheduled for the installation. They did the job in the time alloted and cleaned up afterwards. The salesperson had promised that the trim would be primed but it turned out that the trim is not available pre-primed. She arranged for someone to come and prime the trim for us and it was done within a couple of days of the installation. The whole thing turned out beautiful and we are very pleased with the work and product.

The young woman who helped us design it was really good. She had useful suggestions. She came out and checked on the work. Then, Russ and his son and another person put them in. They were pleasant to have around. They were here for 3 days and they worked really well. They did a nice job. We had one little problem with the felt windows. They are double hung, and the rest are all sliders. Milgard sent someone who couldn?t help. Henderson sent someone, and he fixed it for us.

They were outstanding, quick and thorough. They did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. The price was good.

They came when they said they would. The whole crew had the old windows taken out and the new ones installed in an amazing amount of time. It took a day to be completed and also had everything cleaned up. They did a nice job and I am happy with the windows. I think their prices are a little bit expensive.

I would like to emphasize how wonderful Thea was to work with. Even though they didn't end up getting our business, she was very clear, honest, professional, and had good ideas too. As a woman, there is something comforting about talking to another woman!

I worked with Sonia from the beginning of the project all the way through to the photographs of the final product. She is extremely friendly, professional and works with you toward focusing on what is important to you. In this case, for myself, it was finding the right product, taking advantage of the current energy tax rebates offered by the government and doing this job as economically as possible, rather than trying to load me up with all of the bells and whistles. When the job began, Russ and his helper did a very fast, thorough and wonderful job removing, installing and cleaning up on all 4 of my windows. Russ found some issues with the sash around my window. He showed me the issue and told me he could replace the problem area for no extra cost. I agreed and the finished product looks fantastic. I'm an avid Angieslist'er and am very particular when it comes to having work done on my home. I do my research so if I pick a company to write about, so typically, I either rave or crucify them. In this case, Henderson & Daughter deserves to be praised. They are a great organization (I've had to call into the office before for some info and even then the experience was painless and pleasant) and an experience I am extremely happy with. I would definitely recommend H&D for any window work you are considering.

Ken responded quickly to my phone inquiry and spent about an hour and a half at my house discussing options for replacing the windows, reviewing materials, design, energy efficiency and costs. Once I decided on single-hung, fiberglass windows with divided lights he prepared a complete estimate. Marty, the installer, visited within a few days to do a final measurement. The windows were manufactured to order and an installation date was scheduled within six weeks of my initial call. Marty and his partner arrived promptly at about 9 a.m. and finished the job shortly after lunch. They cleaned up thoroughly and removed all the old windows, packing materials, etc. Altogether, everyone concerned did a great job, and I will call them when I'm ready to replace the remaining windows. Because of the windows' energy efficiency rating, the work will qualify for a federal tax credit.

The project as a whole was handled extremely efficiently and professionally. Our service with Henderson and Daughters was planned out on site in a few hours. We had painters coming later in the month so we worked on a schedule that would accommodate other exterior work such as caulk drying times, paint removal and actual painting. We purchase 10 vinyl windows to replace our 10 single pane windows from the original house construction in 1954. The team that performed all the physical labor on our house did a fantastic job. They were efficient, professional, and very tidy. They even spent time discussing every detail about window installation and removal I could think to ask. I was and still am extremely pleased with their service. I found their prices to be more than reasonable and that doesn't include considerations like current government credits or other discounts. I would highly recommend Henderson and Daughters to anyone I personally know who might need new window installation in the near future.

Competent sales person visited and gave an accurate quote. Windows were installed on time in a professional manner.

We called to be sure they were open and went to the showroom in Vancouver. We were able to look at several models of windows and see how they work. We mde an appointment for Thea the design consultant and she came to our home and gave us a price after measuring. We decided on an install date and Keith came out right away and did the final measure. We decided later to move the install date up and Henderson's was very accommodating. The workers showed up on time, finished a few hours earlier than they thought and were very nice and professional. Thea came back when they were done to check the work.

Thea was the designer who came in and truly reviewed what I was changing, what worked well for us and what didn't. A great view was hidden behind the frame lines of the old living room window. Thea had fabulous ideas. The contract was signed and the dates arrived. The crew were very pleasant people and cleaned-up completely afterwards. Install took 3 days, mostly due to the pair of unnaturally tall windows at the west end of the house -- there was dry rot there that had to be repaired to do a proper install. I got lots of calls from Henderson and Daughter for reassurance and to make sure I wasn't too freaked out about the dry rot. The rot was fixed and the new design is visually pleasing. A total of 11 windows and one sliding patio door were replaced. All openings stayed the same sizes, but the whole look changed markedly for the better!

Debbie came to the house and spent over an hour with us, explaining our options, tax credits and rebates available, methods of installation, and warranties. She was thorough, flexible and helpful throughout. Ten days before the installation, Marty and crew came to remove our storm windows so that we could access the window frames for sanding, staining and varnishing before the new windows were installed. He also brought all of the wood exterior trim boards so that we could paint them before they were put on the house. Installation took 2 days with a crew of four. They were communicative, professional and careful to keep the house as clean as possible. We would definitely work with them again.

The person who came out and did the estimating was very prompt. They came out and did a very professional job. When they first came out to do the job I wasn't home and when I first got home I didn't even think they had been there. They replaced the window and cleaned everything superbly. They didn't leave a footprint! I could hardly believe how well done it was!

Wendy was the estimator, arrived on time to go over the cost and options. Knew about energy rebates associated with the windows. She was never pushy about the sale. The timing was an issue because I was having the house painted. The installers came exactly when they were scheduled, cleaned up after they were done. Were quiet, careful with house items, left the window sills in better shape than when they started.

I called Henderson & Daughter and they were able to come out and give me an estimate right away. Sonia showed up at the scheduled time and spent about 90 minutes going through different options, measuring our windows, and providing suggested solutions. She was fabulous -- patiently explaining the different features, their process, and the company's history. I was very impressed with the experience. Ultimately, we chose to go with another contractor mainly because the other contractor offers siding and additional services we needed for our remodel. Henderson & Daughter's prices were competitive with the other bids we received, and as an added perk they have a large showroom available to sift through the different window options. I would definitely recommend checking out this company for your next window project.

We're going with them because they represent a specific window we were looking for and they had a good fair cost. The lady that came out was professional, new what she was doing and was great. Friendly but not too talkative.

I couldn't be happier with my new windows. They match the house and are bright and snug. The crew was efficient friendly and professional.

I have decided to replace the windows that H & D installed because they look terrible compared with the appearance of my more recent installs. Know your options. I wish I had. Cutting off the nail fins results in an install which compromises good drainage, an issue which is critical at the basement level. Now I have to spend a lot of money to replace the replacement windows for a better overall result.

We had 10 windows (two bay, 1 kitchen, two bedroom), 1 glass unit and 1 door replaced. Two of the windows were old aluminum double pane, single hung that barely worked and wouldn't lock, 7 original single pane, and one very drafty wood front door (the glass unit replaced a failed one from some previous to us renovation). The windows look great. Debbie talked us into one small row of grids vs. the large 4x4 grid pattern - and we're glad she did. The front door is a nice wood grained fiberglass door that we'll stain cherry. We did it primarily for weatherizing the house so it's hard to tell just yet if it was worth it from that perspective. We have noticed no drafts and the windows and door look fabulous. The whole experience went very smoothly, from initial in-home consultation, to in-store checking out the different window and door products, and installation, which took two days. Russ, Shane and Josh did a great job, were patient with my questions and observations and did a little extra by fixing the weep holes on an attic window they noticed had been installed wrong. They took care of all the old windows and associated installation debris. We will certainly use them again if the need arises. One last thing, they threw in the glass unit for free, as part of the package - we had no idea what we'd been missing with that window all fogged up!

My experience with them has been good so far. They are very responsive. I find their price to be reasonable.

Debbie was also the only contractor who told me about a tax credit for energy efficiency that I could get. She told me the website and helped with the process. With this tax credit I saved about 2k. The other contractors did not even mention it. This shows me that she and her company are students of their profession.

They did a good job. They came out very quick to give us a quote. They did what they said they would do. We are very satisfied with the work they did.

They were professional and efficient. My only issue is that one piece of trim was supposed to be replaced and they have yet to get back to me to finish that. We are extremely happy with our door and the deck that we added later.

The windows were ordered from Milgard and arrangements made for installation on July 16th. The H & D crew showed up on that day and had the windows installed by early afternoon. One problem occurred, that being a crack in one window. This was reported to the plant by H & D and within a week a Milgard employee was here to replace the broken window. He also replaced a screen which we felt had a sloppy fit.
