From the initial bid process to the final completion of the installation everything was super smooth with no surprises. Wendy provided a very thorough and thoughtful estimate with suggestions, details, options and alternatives along the way. She also worked to get the job completed in order to meet the tax rebate deadline. No easy task due to our habitual procrastination. Yet, she never pressured us in our decision making process. Once the order was placed, H&D's communication was timely and informative as to the when and how of the installation. The install was completed in two days during some pretty heavy rain, yet our house was clean and orderly during and after the install. This crew was professional, diligent and pleasant to talk to. During the install my questions were answered and any concerns were quickly calmed with thorough explanations and to my complete satisfaction. The windows are in and our house is significantly quieter, warmer and cozier! We look forward to seeing the results pay off over the cold months ahead. This company receives my highest possible rating for satisfaction and workmanship.

There were a few extra phone calls about the actual date of installation. But once that was settled the project went as planned, The crew arrived on time, went to work methodically, wore shoe covers inside and cleaned up very well after themselves. This is the third time I have used this company. They do the job you ask, have a great product and are pleasant to work with.

The sales representative was very professional. The installers were very professional and timely. They did very high quality work. There was not informed ahead of time that there might be minor damage to interior window seals. There was some minor damage, but I fixed it myself.

Henderson and Daughters was one of three companies who bid on my window replacement. They explained that while they were willing to do a single window, the cost would be high because they would likely end up scheduling the crew for an entire day - hence a higher estimate. Their estimate was 25% higher than the company I selected.

All the work was done in one day. The crew showed up and introduced themselves. They prepped the area and got down to work. There was a minor issue with one of the window openings not being level, but they figured out how to resolve that. Once everything was in they reviewed the new window operation with me and cleaned up. The windows look so much better than I expected. Everyone I've dealt with at Henderson and Daughter was fantastic and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to replace old windows.

They called a day ahead to confirm the appointment. They arrived right on time and the crew went right to work which took most of the day. They worked efficiently and communicating with them went smoothly and easily, One window required extensive work due to wood rot. When they did their initial pricing they noted the window likely had wood rot so there were no unpleasant surprises.

Estimator was knowledgeable, personable and professional. Explanation of window failure and replacement options was helpful and informative. Other estimators did not take the time to explain much of anything. She called when she was going to be less than 5 minutes late and showed me how to treat other windows to avoid the same problem. Regular updates on ordering, measuring and installation were made and accurate. The installation was painless. I went to work, came home, and the window was installed perfectly, the area clean and the pets OK! The estimate was well below other 2 and for a far superior window product. Warranty is excellent. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needed minor or major window replacement.

Great! There was a little confusion with the bid initially, but we got that worked out quickly to everyone's satisfaction. The crew was great. They came in around 8:30 and were gone around 3:00. The work was amazing and the windows are beautiful! Now I just need to save up for more.

I worked with Henderson & Daughter on an estimate to replace the windows and doors in my 1974 suburban Vancouver ranch home. Before getting bids, I had applied for a low-interest weatherization loan through Clark PUD and Henderson is on the PUD's list of approved contractors. Henderson is also in my neighborhood, has been around for years with a good reputation in the community, and of all the approved contractors on the PUD's list, has the best ratings on Angie's List. Trudy came out on a Saturday morning, was prompt, polite and personable. I told to Trudy that I had applied for a low-interest loan through Clark PUD, and this is how I intended to finance the project. Trudy explained the different Milgard windows she recommended, and then we went around the house measuring and discussing what the replacement window or door would look like. Trudy made some optional estimates for making the kitchen window sill a few inches lower (which I decided to go ahead with), replacing the master bedroom window with a sliding door (decided against this), and replacing the back door in the garage (decided to do this too). After I heard from the PUD that I had been approved, Trudy made a second visit to the house to finalize the bid and prepare the necessary paperwork for the PUD. I called Henderson the next morning to follow up with Cindy about picking up my paperwork to take to the PUD. Cindy informed me that the bedroom windows did not meet an egress code required by the PUD, and I would have to have the sills lowered to meet the 44" maximum sill height. I asked Cindy how much the extra cutdowns were going to cost and she told me about $2,000. I was very upset that Trudy had not informed me of this and told Cindy I felt like I was now being taken advantage of. She explained these were PUD rules which Henderson had no control over. I told Cindy I was taking some other paperwork over to the PUD and I would speak to them about the egress requirements. When I spoke with the PUD, I was informed that not only did the bedroom windows need to meet the egress requirement, but that the cost of the cutdowns could not be financed through the PUD loan, and that the PUD would also not loan money for the cost of bedroom windows because they would now be bigger windows. They also informed me that replacing the back door in the garage did not qualify for the low interest loan. So not only would I have the added expense of three additional cutdowns, but I could not finance any of the costs for those windows and the replacement back door through the low interest loan. This has essentially put a stop to the entire project. I spoke with Cindy when I returned from the PUD and told her how disappointed I was that so much important information had been withheld from me during the bid process and that I was cancelling the bid. She was apologetic that Trudy had not fully informed me about the rules under the low-interest PUD loan. For now, I am giving Henderson & Daughter an overall grade of C. They fell down in the professionalism category because I feel as an approved contractor for the PUD weatherization loans, their salespeople should fully inform prospective customers of the requirements for the windows and doors to qualify for the loan. If there was a choice of "maybe" for the question of whether I would use them again in the future I would have checked it, but since there's not I had to check "no". Really disappointed.

Trudy came over to give me an estimate; she was professional, friendly and a wealth of information, I also didn't feel pressured by her. After interviewing several companies, I decided to go with Henderson and Daughter. I couldn't be more happy. The installers were prompt and courteous and gave me helpful tips regarding caring for windows. They also completely cleaned the windows they installed and hauled away every last speck of dirt. I have since had questions regarding how the new door works, if they repair my old screens (which they do!), etc and Trudy has promptly returned my call. I am truly impressed with this company!

They were very professional and courteous in the showroom and when they visited us for the initial consultation, the visit to take exact measurements and during the installation. The work crew was very polite and cleaned up their work area before leaving.

We are very happy with our new window and glad that the damage has been repaired. I'm sure that we will call on Henderson's to help us in the future.

From the beginning when Thea came to estimate the job I felt as if I was dealing with real professionals. Thea took measurements, suggested window and door styles, tints and made me think about my options. I placed the order that day, no down payment was required and the bill was not due until completion of the job. From Thea's first visit to the installation took about 6 weeks. In the interim someone came and measured the windows for the custom job. On installation day two men installed the windows and doors in approx. 5 hours. They worked quickly, everything fit perfectly and I am very happy with the windows and door. Since I went from single pane to double pane I felt as if my house, particularly the family room, was a lot warmer.

FYI: Prior to the actual bid for these windows, we attended a Milgard Factory tour (of Tualatin-Sherwood Road) and received a discount on the "future purchase" of our windows. After waiting a few weeks for our fiberglass windows to be constructed, the three-person group of installers went about their business in a quiet and workmanlike manner during a rainy two-day stretch in late May of 2010. Marty, the lead installer, freely answered questions and met all expectations when installing and finishing of the installation of our windows. We ordered four Milgard Woodclad Series windows (i.e. with interior mahogany wood veneer, fiberglass exterior) for our kitchen and dining room areas. The kitchen windows were all double hung windows (i.e. both panes move), two of which replaced a pair of fixed windows at the dining nook of our kitchen area and one above the kitchen sink area. The Henderson & Daughter team moved very efficiently (even in the rain) and not only installed these windows but kept up with the debris and cleaning of each window as they were installed. At the basement on Day Two, the concrete guys were guided by Marty and also did a great job of cutting the concrete while preserving the integrity of sheetrock (replacing section below window opening) within that finished space. The finish work on this lower egress window was top notch in quality (i.e. wood sill and trim with no knots or defects) and the clean up was good. During the two-day job there was minimal noise (i.e. no boom boxes or loud radios or shouting) and the team was very professional. Our sales lady Wendy was also very patient with our selection process, coming out multiple times to verify the order we had and checking on the progress when the work was in process. Overall, a very good experience with Henderson & Daughter.

The windows did not yet go in. It will be installed in a couple of weeks. Two of my neighbors used their service to have their windows replaced, so they were recommended. The person who schedules was extremely professional and extremely nice. She came back two or three times before we got the order exactly the way we wanted it.

They were excellent. They had responded every time that I had called. The representative was awesome. She explained everything in detail. The crew that came out was quick and efficient. They got everything done in three hours. Their price was in line with that of the others.

I was most impressed with this company with price, friendliness, knowledge, and professionalism. Our salesperson was excellent with details and information. He gladly quoted more than one package for us because I wanted to know how much it would cost for several variations in designs and materials. We finialized the contract in Sept. but we knew we'd have to wait until October for their first open install date. This was fine because we were informed that the company was very busy and they do not hire temporary, unskilled people to 'catch up'. They only send out their own staff that are a real part of the company. They said they don't want to compromise quality. The crew came out on time and the guys were very professional. They tarped up the windows as they worked to keep my house clean. They took 2 days as stated and cleaned up all tools and mess. They even had to go get some wood when they saw I needed an inside trim on my sliding door and made it right on site (no extra charge). The new window that needed replacing was done quickly and at no charge. This company guarantees all work and materials for as long as we own this home. I do have an old garden window that we didn't replace. When we do, I will definitely have this company do the job.

This was the first time I had used them. They were extremely friendly and thorough. They were very customer-oriented. They helped me with everything; from the sales through the choice of the windows. They also helped me with the actual purchase, planning the installation of the windows and with the materials for the trim work. The crew was on time. They were organized and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves. They had smiles on their faces throughout. I happen to think that they are one of the best companies that I have dealt with. Everyone in this company is extremely concerned about you getting what you want and your satisfaction with the installation. The work cost me about $7500. I will you their services in the future, if required.

I had received estimates from four other companies as well. The woman from Henderson & Daughter was more knowledgeable than the others because she spotted a slight difference in my slider that required custom work. The other companies had taken the measurements, but couldn?t find the difference. She seemed professional and the prices were completely in line. She was punctual. Originally, the estimate was for the replacement of a sliding door, but I got an expanded estimate that included several other windows.

Thea was wonderful to work with, prompt and professional, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the products her company had to offer. She offered great advice on how I could achieve what I wanted, including options I wasn't aware of. She was the only window contractor (of 4) who was able to tell me the actual numbers for energy efficiency (% UV blockage and U-factor) from memory, and correctly identified the likely origin of my unusual original windows. Henderson & Daughter was the only contractor who had a showroom that included all the products I eventually ordered; I didn't go see it, since it's nearly an hour away, but I appreciate having the option.
