Green Choice Pest Control

They do very good work, and they are very thorough.

Prior to purchasing this house, the inspection turned up a huge infestation of carpenter ants. The previous owners contracted with Green Choice to exterminate in June. When we moved in July, the infestation was still evident. We contacted the company numerous times and they assured us that it took 60 days to rid a house of carpenter ants. As of August 25, there was still no sign of extermination. Again we contacted the company and they were unresponsive. One treatment by Terminex solved the problem almost immediately.

The staff including the office was friendly, accomodating and efficient. The crews were dependable and maintained the cleanliness of the house. Erik, the crew leader was very effective and his approach to the team was impressive.

We had an ant and unknown bug problem and hired them based on Angie's list reviews as we are new to the area. The tech came out and diagnosed the unknown critters as carpet beetles and said they were due to rodent carcasses and there would be nothing they could do to treat for them until the carcass was gone. We had some wasps present as well so we decided to go with the annual package as we are somewhat rural and are likely to need continuing treatments. First time out was 508.40 to treat for ants, spiders, mice, and wasps. The quarterly treatments were at 79.95 a quarter. First visit, the technician did not rid us of the wasp nests in the eaves, had to call then to come out to complete this work. Then the sugar ants that were present returned, we had to call again for another treatment. The next tech did a thorough job, and the ants were gone, and I must say they have done a good job on the spiders. The quarterly visits continued, the carpet beetles we thought had gone away as was explained by the first tech, when the mouse carcass apparently was no more. The 3rd quarterly visit, again the Wasps nests were not removed from the eaves, another call back, and the carpet beetles had returned. We spent time with the third technican, explained the problem completely again, this time they were apparently treatable as they sprayed for them, however there was no effect. We called back again and they returned, this time treating with a powder and took the time to treat the baseboards. Through all of this we asked what can we do to prevent these, no answer was given. Then at the latest visit, we got the works, 24 hours later ants are marching through the kitchen and carpet beetles alongside them. At this point, I think we've run our course with this firm as only for a brief time have we been without pests.

Jess and his crew at Green Choice were amazing! One crawl space is quite large and had an issue with the low point drain not matching the drain leading outside. They put in french drains; dug trenches, brought in rock and replaced two rotting posts. The other crawl space was miserably small (although not a complaint out of anyone!) and a sump pump system had to be added. Great care was taken to cover all floors and all excess debris was hauled out of the crawl spaces. On top of everything else, all old vapor barrier was removed and new was added. I went into the crawl space when it was done. It looks great! I cannot recommend Green Choice enough! Everyone was helpful, responsive and professional!

I called three companies for ant control on Thursday. Green Choice was the only one who could come two days later. The guy came early and took care of the problem. I haven't seen an ant since!

They ended up doing the crawlspace. The crawlspace essentially needed some decommissioned duct work removed and the vapor barrier had to be replaced. They did do some pest control down there and also repaired some of the foundation. They were punctual and professional. They were able to start the job faster than I expected. They met the deadline and in fact they were done a little bit beforehand. They were really clean because the crawlspace is a dirty kind of work. They didn't leave any trash, dirt or anything. They were communicative throughout. They did a couple of extra things. We talked about what I needed and they just kind of did that as well. I'm in fact using them for pest control on an ongoing basis.

Contacted this company on Thursday concerning swarming termites and was told it would be Saturday before anyone could come out. Considering they're advertising same day or next day, I was disappointed. But, I decided to wait to hear what they said. The guy who showed up seemed friendly enough, we showed him the 2 examples of the winged red termites and he immediately said we have subterranean termites. Which my husband and I both thought was alarming and opposite of what we researched. After the dramatic inspection, he presented us with a service recommendation tally over $2500...yeah. We smiled, thanked him for showing up, then called Orkin.

They were responsive and seemed to understand the problem. They were unable to fix the problem and would not admit that. They eventually left with traps in place for rodents. Now after finding 3 more dead animals both in and out of traps I am here looking for a new provider to finally fix this problem! I'm concerned I will need my crawl space restoration redone with finding dead rodents in the area!

The ydid an adequate job on rodent removal from our large home. They did up-sell us an expensive contract for a year of service for ant and mice control. However, if you are not satisfied with their service and have continual problems, you will get an aggressive argument from the gal answering their phone about why you don't need any more help. This has happened twice now and we feel left out to dry by this company. I would not advise using them more than once, and certainly never sign a contract with them. The technicians are nice guys with good advice, it's the company and front phone that will not follow-through. Our beautiful and clean home still has 7 months of ants that are worse than when we contracted them.

We had a rodent problem and they came out to investigate.This was a Saturday so I was impressed that they came right out. My issue witht his company is that they way overbid what turns out to be a very minor issue. They wanted tio refurbish the crawlspace to the tune of almost $3000 citing extensive rat contamination. They did provide a cheaper option, but even that was close to $1000. I feel they also used a bit of scare tactic on my wife. In any event we called another company to check it out as well. After their inspection they concluded that it wasn't even rats, but a couple mice. They also said that it would be easy enough for me to handle on my own if I wanted and even provided instructions. They would have done the work for us for $350, but we opted to handle it on our own. Long story short they overbid based on fear tactics or their own inexperience. I would stay away.

There was not evidence of the rats using the bait boxes after the first follow-up, so we had them come back again later, at which point there was evidence of the rats consuming the bait. At that point repair work was done, and the serviceman urged us to call if we had any problems.

He does pest control. They did a great job. The price was reasonable and competitive. Everyone has been very nice and thorough. I will continue to use their services.

They were good. They were very quick and efficient. They took care of problems. They are coming back because the pest is ants and I feel comfortable having them come back to complete the job.

They were great. They even have a supervisor that starts the process gives directions, and then comes back to inspect. The price was less than one of the top advertised company.

They removed old insulation and ground cover, replacing the ground cover with a new one.They filled in holes that rodents were able to access and spayed a disinfectant. They sent an inspector to follow up after and made sure we were satisfied with the work performed. It is a hard and dirty job and we are glad this company offers this type of service.

Ants decreased immediately and were completely gone after 3 weeks and have not seen a single ant after that. I have signed up for the quarterly spraying to prevent re-infestation.

October 2012: I had used Green Choice before to work on my crawl space and they sent out the same technician to evaluate my attic. Eric wrote out a detailed itemized estimate and explained each item and answered my questions. The original plan was for about one full day of work with 2 to 3 crew members. The crew showed up on time and Eric went over what they needed to do that day. I asked them to double check some of the other insulation for mold and we determined that almost all of it needed to be removed, more than we had originally planned. The crew started work but ran into some unforeseen difficulties. I have two side attics and a top attic with ventilation spaces between the side attics and top. These spaces had insulation that needed to be removed and they needed to be treated for mold. There were also some 2x4 supports between the rafters that needed to be removed for access, and later replaced. The crew were not expecting some of this and did not have some of the tools they needed. Also, it was a busy day and they had a little trouble getting a hold of Eric to review some of these issues. However, one of the crew members in particular worked hard all day using some of the tools I had available and being as creative as he could under the circumstances. Needless to say the job was not completed by the end of the day. To make a long story short Eric sent a crew out when he could over the next week to get the job done. In the end it was about 24 total hours of work with a crew of 3 to 4 to complete the project. Even with all the extra work, the only additional cost to me was for the additional insulation that was removed, which was not part of the estimate. Also, even with putting in some late hours after other jobs to try and get my job done - the crew remained pleasant, friendly, polite and answered my questions. In addition, the morning after the job was finally done I notice the burners on my electric stove were not working at full power. I called Eric and he said that the crew had probably damaged one of my 110V wires when installing the plywood floor in the side attic space. They had someone out that day to repair the issue at no cost to me. December 2012: The crew showed up to put in new insulation. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The guys were polite and friendly as always and did their best to keep my carpet and living spaces clean. Also, Eric and I had discussed some minor damage that happened during the work that was done in October. Eric did these minor repairs at no additional cost to me. Green Choice does a 30 day quality check where another technician checks on the job. During this check we noticed that a few attic side walls had not had insulation installed when the insulation was replaced. Green Choice had someone out the next day to install the missing insulation at no cost to me. As you can tell this job ended up being a lot more complicated than either Eric or I expected. Mistakes/things happened. However, I think that can happen with any job. No person/company is perfect. I think the measure of a person/company is what they do when mistakes happen. In each instance Green Choice responded promptly, took ownership, and corrected the issue to my satisfaction. I believe that shows integrity and a true commitment to customer service.

Green Choice has 'techs' that oversee the projects. Green Choice responded promptly when I contacted them and sent Eric out to evaluate the safety of my crawlspace and give me an estimate on recommended work. Eric wrote a very detailed estimate itemizing all the things that he recommended. He then explained each item, helping me consider which would be essential to health and safety (e.g. managing standing water) and which could be done at a later time if desired (e.g. insulating above the crawlspace under the sub floor). On the day the work was scheduled the crew arrived promptly. Eric came with them and reviewed what needed to be done. Eric then left but was accessible by phone if the crew or I had questions or concerns. The crew took measures to protect my carpet and living space while working. They were polite and respectful and kept me informed of what was happening. Three to four crew members worked steadily on the job and it was done by the end of the day. One of the crew members took pictures of the completed work so I could see what they had done. My crawl space access is in the master bedroom closet and I had hoped that we could move it to a different location. However, when the crew checked on areas where I would prefer the access to be, there were structural pieces that did not allow for crawl space access. Green Choice sent out another technician at around the 30 day mark to check on the work and make sure that it was done correctly and no other concerns were identified. This is something they do voluntarily on all their projects.

They were phenomenal professional and very courteous. They take a lot of precautions in order to be clean. The work is always of a good quality and they always clean up afterward. They also have great communication skills.

I would highly recommend them. They try to send the same person every time since he knows our house and our situation. He can come in to our house even when we are not there. They are very accommodating.

They seem very knowledgeable. They were not inexpensive but knowledgeable. They were prompt, worked very hard, and did their job. We spent way too much but they did a lot.

I think they are a really good company. It is all plant and pet-safe. It is totally green. They respond quickly. They are friendly and reliable. I have nothing bad to say about them. It is all good. I would use this provider again.
