Very communicative when issues popped up.

It's not just what you do, it's how you do it. Steve Gardner and the Gardner Construction team were impeccable from the get-go. Steve informed the deck replacement job, presented options which expanded our choices, and landed us a much better deck replacement than we imagined, at a much lower price than anticipated. He was responsive, professional, understanding, fair. His team was punctual, quick, thoughtful. We dreaded taking up this job, postponing it until we couldn't any longer. Gardner Custom Construction left us wondering why we didn't do it 5 years ago and with a deck we love to enjoy now. Thanks, Steve and team. We couldn't recommend you higher!

Steve did a great job. My deck and porch look fantastic. He showed up when promised and completed the work in a very timely manner.

We needed our deck redone so it is all one level and a new patio/deck cover installed. This was not an easy task because they had to raise portions of the deck and run the boards in one direction. All of this with using only the existing decking. They did an amazing job and the deck is actually more solid now than before. They did everything we asked of them and then some. The patio/deck cover is top notch. It is a 16 foot by 30 foot cover so it is not something small. They used joist hangers and hurricane braces so this cover/awning will never move. There are a lot of words there to say that we would absolutely hire this company again. The whole crew is professional, experienced and customer friendly. Amazing work. Thank you.

The bid I was given was almost half the cost of all others and the product was the exact same as what the competitors were offering to use, so there was nothing sacrificed with materials to keep the costs down. A job well done!

They came out on the 4 of July started early did a fabulous job, they cleaned up and gave me instructions and gone in 5 1/2 hours. I will us them again

Steve Gardner and his crew are great!! Showed up at the time we set for the project. Did the demo to my old deck and installed a new deck in the same day. Very professional throughout the entire job. Kept work area clean as they progress during the day. Was still out there when it started to rain and hail to finish the job. Definitely will use him again in the future

Steve submitted a very reasonable bid complete with samples and pictures to replace our deck, great communication, responsiveness, follow through and professionalism throughout the project. Totally professional from beginning to end. Estimate came in a bit lower than others, quality of work was excellent. Checked in with me regularly about material and timing. Work crew was so efficient and fun to watch (our deck is 20â in the air:). I would hire these guys any time and definitely recommend.

Took longer than expected to finish the project.

This would be all 5's except Steve has been promising to come fix a small additional spot and it hasn't happened in 6 weeks. Love my deck; they were fast and crew was pleasant. I'm just disappointed Steve didn't follow through. I would use them again.

Steve came out and gave us a bid, discussed and left a sample of composite decking material, and gave us an approximate date for our deck rebuild. He and his crew dismantled our old deck and constructed our new one in 2 days. We Love our new deck and would hire them again for other projects.

The crew was a really nice group of folks who worked well together. Their attention to details was high. If something didn't meet their work quality standards, they fixed it. They left the worksite tidy at the end of every day. I would hire this company again.

had an insurance claim, Gardner one of two that took time for a small project. they proposed an acceptable bid, but during process, i changed what i wanted done, tile wise. this didnt faze Josh, he adjusted the bid. after metting Shane, the tile guy he went over everything, answered all my questions. jumping ahead, it turned out fantastic, it looks amazing, Shane i highly recommend your work. everyone that has seen it, compliments how nice it turned out. highly recommend gardner, and will want to use Shane again when i do my entryway.

5 out of 5. This group of professionals worked hard and completed our project on time. They were more than willing to answer questions, accommodate changes, and listen to our concerns. They cleaned up the area probably better than Mr. Clean could have done. Thanks!

The finished product looks fairly good until you look at the details. Grout lines not even, shower curb slopes away from drain, shower floor not draining and does not have proper slope. Shower pan not installed to manufacturers specifications to even be warranted by the material manufacturer. ie. zero pre-slope before membrane, zero water leak test on the membrane, mud base was so wet when poured that proper 1/4 inch per linear foot could not be maintained, and the weep holes are filled with wet mortar so they won't be able to drain any water that gets past the tile and grout. Waterproof Redgard liquid was applied on top of the mortar base but to the spread rate of less than that of a general waterproofing specification by the maker of Redgard. The slope was attempted by using thinset on top of the Redgard but was not fully achieved in all areas of the shower floor. You might ask how I know what is correct and what is supposed to be. Well I looked on the Internet to the many, many, many articles on how to know if your shower is being built correctly and all the things not being followed by our great builders in the home building industry. I was told by salesman he would be inspecting to make sure it was being done to code, so I didn't need to have permits pulled or inspectors coming around that he would make sure it was done correctly. I called him after the tile was put on shower floor and told him it was not correct, he came by and asked the tile installer to redo some of the tile to correct slope only. I even told the installer in a conversation that if it were me doing job I would remove it and start over from beginning, very little material cost involved at that time. A few days later when the wall tiles were being installed I checked and could run a piece of paper behind the tiles 9 inches in the middle of 12x24 inch tile without even getting wet by fresh thinset. The next day the tile was removed and reset using more thinset. From this point I decided to just shut my mouth and let them work in hopes they will just get finished since bathroom had been down for over a month and I was tired of delays. Had a discussion with salesman concerning problems with how the pan was built and shower not draining very well but did not convince him it should be torn down and rebuilt. About the only good thing coming out of this ( I think) is that Gardner Custom Construction agreed to cover the installation and workmanship for 5 years instead of the usual 1 year and in writing.
