Description of Work: Our flooring project included a number of carpentry tasks that IFC does not do so we decided on another bidder that was able to take care of those issues as well as the re-flooring. So, although we did not have them do the work, my experience with IFC was positive. Monica was both very professional and knowledgeable and, should we have other projects in the future, I would certainly consider hiring them.

Description of Work: They installed beautiful acacia hardwood throughout our home. It was a huge project. We love it. The quality of workmanship was great. They talked with us about the direction of the run in the planning phase. They were excellent on calculating how much was needed, almost to the board. We did have some scraps left over which we appreciated to show to our family/friends out of the area. The floor is still gorgeous and easy to care for. |The only negative was the installer brought his lapdog and expected that it would be welcome to walk throughout the house and on the new hardwood floor (the part that was already installed). I have a cat who was already freaked out about the floors being ripped up and new installed. I was offended by the worker bringing his dog into my home without asking. (I don't let my family or friends bring their dogs in!) I told FCI about this. They handled it immediately and apologized for their worker (who did return but left the dog in the truck all day). We have referred friends to FCI. Great folks. Great job at competitive price.

+ -1 moreAfter being very dissatisfied with another (not Floor Coverings International) flooring store we were referred to Zach at Floor Coverings International in Vancouver and he came to our home a few times to help us decide on the right flooring in our kitchen, dining, formal dining and formal living area. There was some mis-communication at the end of the process which was unfortunate but the end result was very well done and my wife and I could not be happier with how it turned out. We do appreciate Zach and his crew for getting us taken care of as best they could.

+ 0 more,I was put in touch with Toby by some family who also had him do some work for them and were quite happy with the work. I had a fairly unique project as I had a reletively new home that had laminate throughout the kitchen and dining areas but it did not extend into the family room area which had carpet. I really like the look of a continuous flow but thought it unlikely I would be able to find the same laminate used for the rest of the main floor as I had contacted the builder and they no longer used the flooring company that installed it. Toby came out, took some pictures and the small sample of extra laminate the builder did leave me with but wasn't sure if he would be able to get the exact same or if we would need to look to do something else. I was thrilled when he found it and it was installed less than two weeks later. I now have the same laminate running throughout my whole main floor and love the look so much better, especially having a dog which made the carpet hard to keep up with. Great service and would recommend and use again.
Description of Work: I had laminate installed in my family room to match the rest of my downstairs. Bid to install, FCI took care of it.

+ 0 moreEverything that could possible go wrong did. We signed the contract April 1 but didn't hear back until April 10. We wanted the wood floors done first and then the new carpet laid. The set it up to do part of the wood floors, then the carpet and then finish the wood floors. No one showed up when they said they would. They didn't have the right sand paper, carpet pad, not enough carpet to finish the job correctly (too many seams) and when they reconnected the refrigerator the ice maker leaked and ruined the just finished wood in front of it. The 3 day job took about 3 weeks to complete with multiple do-overs. I chose the more expensive bid because I thought it would be to our advantage to have it all done at one time. It was a nightmare! When we signed the contract they said that we would be given a membership to Angie's List as part of the deal. They didn't do that either. I think they were afraid that I would tell everyone what kind of job they did. So I finally joined myself and this is the story.
Description of Work: Sand and refinish wood floors in entry and kitchen. Remove and replace carpet in family room and hall. They were also going to restretch some of the carpet in the living room and bedrooms that were installed poorly. We were told it would be a 3 day job.

He had a HUGE selection of flooring options in his van, which saved tremendous amounts of time by avoiding the hassle of going to the store. He was very patient with the decision making process (choosing the flooring). The quality of the work was outstanding given the tight timeline we were working under. We highly suggest anyone with flooring needs contact Toby and his team.
Description of Work: Met with us to determine the chosen color and floor type. Old flooring taken out, hauled out, and replaced with new Pergo. The work included transitions from the carpet to the new Pergo flooring, and taking off and replacing the wood trim. The team also moved the furniture and appliances to allow for floor installation.
