Description of Work: Owner of Checkmate forgot about appt., I called to see if he was coming and he ended up getting here a few hours late. Cleaned carpeting in den, hallway, stairs and 4 bedrooms, 2 rugs and some furniture (2 couches, 3 LR chairs, 4 kitchen chairs. The whole process took about 3 1/2 - 4 hours and although the quality was good, the cost was astronomical, particularly in relation to the cost per hour and the skills needed to do the job. The owner is a slick talker and tries to convince you how great he is and that he charges so much because it's such a tough physical job and he's so much better than the rest. I found none of these points to be accurate. I fault myself for agreeing to have him do the work once he gave me an outrageous quote -- but I needed to have the work done and he was quite the fast talker. I would never use Checkmate again. Although the quality was good, it was definitely NOT worth the cost.

Description of Work: Cleaned the carpets through out the house and power vacuumed furniture. They showed up on time, and did a great job. They didn't try to up sell alot of extras. Explained options and then let me decide. The carpets and everything looked great and dried quickly!!! It has been several months now since the service and the carpets still look great!!

Description of Work: Pablo the technician arrived on time and was friendly. He did a great job on cleaning my carpets and did carpet patching where stains were impossible to come out. He made it look almost like it had never been patched. I would strongly recommend their services.

upholstery cleaning
+ -1 moreRussel worked to get stains not removed from carpet the previous week and was successful, except for a bit showing on one. Because he'd come back to redo carpet work, he didn't charge for a call and reduced the price on the upholstery to $75. from $99. This was at my request as it would have cost from $69. to $75. to have a couple other companies I called do the work. I'm not happy about using extra power for a turned-up furnace and fan for so long. I do,however, appreciate his thoroughness. He needs to fix the hose on his truck as it sprayed water both times he came. It didn't seem quite so bad this trip. I intend to call about the smell since it's taking so long to reduce the smell. I'm unsure if I'd have them back because of the high cost and problems with the smell of the upholstery cleaning. [To complete this report, I has to answer ''yes'' or ''no'' as to whether I'd have them back. I might try the carpet, but not the upholstery cleaning. Perhaps you need a ''not sure'' answer.
Description of Work: I had a used Loveseat size hide-a-bed's upholstery cleaned. It did not show soil, but I wanted to be sure it was clean. The work was thorough. A chemical was used to remove any oils. I've had to use a fan and keep the window open for five days and still the chemical smell is strong, though getting weaker each day.

+ -1 moreI sell real estate and have referred Checkmate to my clients several times. They may not be the least expensive but they do an outstanding job with stains, restoration and general cleaning. When you refer them, they'll give you future discounts (they add up).
Description of Work: Cleaned our carpets twice, including stain removal. Also came to clean carpet area and treated for vomit.
