The back of the freezer portion of the refridgerator was removed and a block of ice covered the whole back workings of the freezer. The ice was melted manually(squirting boing water on the ice) and a new degroster heater was put in.
Description of Work: The defroster heater in our garage refridgerator went bad. The freezer needed to be manually defrosted which was done and a new defroster heater was attached.

Description of Work: He had to run washing machine to spin (which had been sporadically not working) and of course it did, he ran it again and it did play dead as it had for me too...he then diagnosed the problem correctly it seems and had to get the part. He did so same day and was quicker than expected considering possible bridge tieups and time of day. He installed it and VOILA...working now. Price was no more than expected...these things are always expensive, and always more than we hope. Considering it worked, he was quick and seemed reliable and so well experienced...I am happy and will call him again if needed.

It was his third time out and he said that he could fix the washing machine for us, but said that he thought we should get a new one and we did get a new washer. His service calls are about $150. We like him because he was responsive and punctual. A lot of people don't like to come out to Washougal where we live, but he has been out in a flash every time.
Description of Work: We used Brockman's Appliance Repair last November just before thanksgiving when my washing machine went out.

The only thing that I would say is, they were a little bit late and that was the only obstacle. We would use them in the future as well.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. Mike prepped the job, repairing the sockets, and a special order item was required. We agreed to meet two days later. He was right on time, the new part in hand. He even took apart the oven lamp assembly and identified a special bayonet type high temperature filament bulb (European part) and gave to us for future ordering, as we wished not to replace it at the present. Mike not only answers every question but goes the extra distance and is a giving and quite helpful person. He knows his business well. Mike also repaired our dryer a couple of years earlier.
Description of Work: Mike Brockman is a quiet spoken man who gets right to the heart of the your problem, whose work is excellent, and whose rates are very reasonable. Mike at Brockman's Appliance is the first man I would call for major appliance repair.

THEY CAME OUT PRONTO AND REPLACED THE MOTHERBOARD THE SAME DAY THEY CAME OUT. THEY HAD THE RIGHT PARTS ON HAND WHICH WAS A BIG PLUS FOR ME. COULDN'T OF WENT ANY SMOOTHER.

+ -1 moreWE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE EFFICIENCY IN WHICH THE WORK WAS CONDUCTED. WITH THE FIRST TRIP, THE REPAIRMAN ASSESSED THE DAMAGE AND ORDERED THE PARTS THAT WERE NEEDED. ONCE ALL THE PARTS WERE IN WE WERE CONTACTED AND HE CAME OUT AGAIN TO REPLACE THE PARTS. IT WAS A MAJOR REPAIR, BUT AT THE END OUR DRIER LOOKED BRAND NEW AGAIN.

+ -1 moreWHEN THE SERVICEMAN CAME OUT, HE WORKED FOR ONLY A FEW MINUTES WHILE I HAD TO RUN OUT AND DROP MY CHILD AT PRACTICE. WHEN I CAME BACK THE WORK WAS DONE. HE INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE CALL. WHILE I'M GLAD THAT HE DOESN'T BILK THE MANUFACTURER FOR REPAIRS THAT AREN'T BONA FIDE APPLIANCE FAILURES, I FELT THAT HE COULD HAVE TOLD ME IT WASN'T A WARRANTY ISSUE BEFORE HE DID THE WORK.
Description of Work: MY AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER (UNDER WARRANTY) WAS MAKING AN ODD GRINDING SOUND. I EXPECTED THE REPAIR TO BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER'S GUARANTEE. AS IT TURNED OUT, THE GRINDING WAS CAUSED BY NOTHING MORE THAN A PLASTIC BREAD CLOSER TAB. THE SERVICEMAN SAID IT WOULD HAVE CORRECTED ITSELF, IF I HAD RUN THE DISHWASHER ANYWAY.
