The day before the move was packing day. I had several small fragile items they packed for me, plus electronics. It went fairly well. The lead packer, Philip, was great. He brought along some guy he just met that morning who was obviously stoned or hung over. His eyes were glazed and his attention to instruction and details was poor. Philip said he never knows who he is going to get assigned to work with him. The first thing the other guy touched, he broke. It was my grandmothers china creamer. It ended up taking them all day to pack my items even though they estimated it at 3 hours. Moving day was nothing short of traumatic. The truck and crew showed up at 6 am even though I was told 8-9 am. I was just getting up to pack the last little bit of my personal items off my bedroom furniture. The driver apologized and gave me the excuse that he wanted to get the job done so he could get to Spokane before dark. He came with 3 guys to help. All wearing Atlas shirts. The driver went around marking the items on inventory with me then said they where going to get started loading the truck while I finished packing my bedroom items. I was to make a pile of things that were to be added to the inventory later. About an hour into the loading, I hear a big crash down stairs and the sound of glass breaking. It was the door form my antique early 19th century armoire with the original european glass mirror in it. This upset me because I specifically asked if the movers could handle my antiques carefully during the quote and I was reassured by the owner that everything would be handled with the utmost care. I also heard the driver say to the men that it was going to take two of them to take it apart and not to do it alone. And low and behold, one of them tried to do it alone. I cried a little bit, cleaned up the glass, and called to report it right away. They guy that broke it felt terrible and left. In the meantime, while I'm on the phone reporting it, the other two guys keep taking loads out to the truck for the driver to pack in. Nobody realized that they were taking the stuff that wasn't inventoried yet till after it was buried in deep. The driver assured me it would be ok and I could mark it all on the inventory sheet as unmarked goods as the truck was unloaded at our new home. He obviously didn't want to unpack and label things because he was in a hurry. I believed that it would be ok so I regrettably agreed. Upon arrival of our things, I checked off every thing that came off the truck including unlabeled items. After it was all empty I noticed that my box with my jewelery box inside (part of the unlabeled pile) was not there. I asked the driver about it and he said he never saw it and to unpack everything before I report anything lost. Over the next several months I looked through every box that was delivered and it never showed up. After I contacted the company, made a police report, and submitted my claim form as directed they fixed the door but denied my loss of the jewelry box claim because it was never on the inventory. I am so disappointed in the whole ordeal. Four to five thousand dollars in sentimental jewelry plus the rare Italian-made inlaid mahogany box it was in is just gone all because the driver and crew didn't follow policy. I have since learned that the laborers they hire are certified by many different companies and basically sit around waiting for drivers to hire them every day. The drivers pay them out of their pockets and are supposed to keep a log of who they hire as help but rarely do. So know one in the whole company knows who worked at my house that day. I have no doubt that it was one of the two remaining movers that probably just took it to his car instead of the truck because everyone was distracted and he knew it wasn't labeled. I also overheard them talking about wanting a drink and their drinking problems while they finished loading the truck which I thought was very unprofessional. If I had known that all this privately contracted help was going to be hired instead of official employees, I would have though twice about trusting them. This is the firs time I used a pro mover and this bad experience will definitely make me think twice about ever doing it again. The thing that gets me most is there is no accountability anywhere in the company. Very unprofessional.

They did a fabulous job. I thought their price was very fair. I thought they were very responsive. They did a great job. They informed me about the insurance. They provided good education about what I need to be aware of. I had no complications with them. They did everything they said they would do. There was one person who was very nice and very thorough. I would use them again in the future too.

They are a local company here. We did not spend on the moving service, but it was about $7500 on that service. So far it has been good, hopefully it all went well, and we were impressed with them. Our experience with them was really good. They seemed to know what they were doing and just seemed to be very knowledgeable about international moving and we wanted to use a local company if possible. The person in Florida whose possessions it was and had worked with them on the telephone, in terms of arranging everything was impressed with them. The other bid that we got was $2000 more than them.

We provide over 1200 moves annually and 95% of our clients are happy. They will in fact use us again for their next move, because we make clients for life. We appreciate feedback from our clients and know that normally only negative items get reported. We are glad to see another successful move reported.

They charged 1500+ and she is missing a few things. Her relative wasn't available to help as planned. She said one packer "was on dope". Generally sharp and assertive but she's fearful of confronting or reporting because they obviously know where she lives. I'm furious! but want to respect her choice not to file a complaint.
Description of Work: bid $700 to move my elderly aunt from apartment to new local apt (not much stuff, 1br apt). I joined Angies List just to warn others. Update: interesting response from BBT inc. I used an approximate date. My name is not the same as my relative's, and the "they" was one elderly woman.

The scope of the move changed and they had not prepared goods as theyintended. Of course costs go up when additional services are performed. This is a third party making these statements - not involved in the move at all - in fact she is not the client, the client has not indicated there was a problem. Further, all of our team members are double screened for drugs and alcohol - we have the best movers and the safest team in town to work in our clients homes. Ask one ofthe other 350 senior clients we have moved. We are "Elder Friendly" certified and get screened quarterly to keep that certification. It is a shame that anyone can post a complaint on Angie's List, even someone that has not used our firm for services.

The supervisor from Blue Bird was giving me information on how they would charge me and I explained that I had been given a set price. He said, no that is not how the billing works. He had asked me if I wanted them to stop, because I would be charged time and a half and I said no, I had been given a set price, not an estimate. He then said no, it was not a set price, it was an estimate. The price they gave me of $2323.30 was disregarded and they charged me $5870.97. They ended up damaging some of my belonging by putting the heavy stuff on top and they did not follow the instructions on how to move the antiques. They picked them up in one piece instead of two and they fell apart.
Description of Work: I hired them to pack a few selected items and to store all of my belongs until my new home was ready. They were supposed to come on a Monday and assist with packing. I told them no, not today. They told my assistant that I would be charged. I called and told them I needed to push it back to Wednesday. They said they had no opening on Wednesday. Then they showed up on Wednesday. It ended up being a 2 day move instead of a one day move. It ended up I had them come over to move some large selected items and they came in and started going from room to room packing and I stopped them and told them it was only a few selected items. They did not listen to my instructions to only pack and move the selected items. No one knew what was going on. They hired the men from a temp agency. The crew was different day to day, so the new crew did not know the specific instructions I had given them. When I went to the warehouse they had my things all over the place. I knew I would not let them move me from the warehouse to my new house because of the fiasco from before. So I hired a new highly rated company to finish the move and the employees at Blue Bird blocked them from removing my things from storage. The new company stood their ground and had to go through alot of legalities to finally legally get permission to remove my things from Blue Bird storage and complete my move.

Each year there is at least 1 client which I have to consider "f i r i n g" and this is the client during 2009. It has been a nightmare for our firm ever since. The member had several folks helping her coordinate the move details with me, she was too busy and did not get involved with me during the process, leading up to her actual move day. Many changes and many "control issues" arose with her assistant during the process (in fact her assistant (and several others) resigned shortly after the move). In addition, the member was contemplating a divorce, was dealing emotionally with a death in her family and several other items which made her stress level very HIGH. We became her enemy and her attitude towards our moving firm never changed. I feel I was as patient as possible, finally I had to inform her and her (what I consider estranged) husband (they reconciled) that they would have to hire someone else to make their final delivery from my warehouse. My firm could not take the "fall" any longer for the extreme pain that she was dealing with. I asked her to fnd another mover to remove her things fromour warehouse, she agreed and another mover pulled her things out of our facility (we released the goods happily). She has had many meetings with me, including having her husband in my office (he seemed to have the same problems with her communication that I did, he had to tell her to be quiet a few times during our conversations, becasue she was loud, over bearing and hostile) and unfortunately she decided not to accept any resolution I have offered. It is unfortunate that we can not make her happy. She has stopped payment on her original credit card authorization two different times and the American Express team has reversed the charges back to our firm - based on the facts. The member has time on her hands and seems intent on continuing to make negative statements towards our firm, making contact any legal authority that will allow her to complain and making public statements online at sites like this. I hope that soon, she gets control of her life, and begins to enjoy her time with family. This is a SAD situation for her and her family.

Once again a good report. A personal bias was made towards the packers, as they both had visable tattoos (that is unfortunate that it makes them appear "shady") but we understand at times that opinion is not easy to change (finding crew without tattoos, in today's society, is getting harder). Overall their move was excellent, nothing was missing (as they thought may be possible) and all of their personal belongings ended arriving in the same condition (no claim of damages was filed) as they were when we picked them up. We know they will call us again next time they move.
